Clean comfortable well equipped property in quiet country location but within short travelling distance to numerous facilities and areas of interest. Martin and Heather (owners) are friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended. Lovely cottage and a very helpful and personable host. Plus, the impeccable music library at the property was the icing on the cake!
Such a cute home and the host was great to communicate with! The house was perfect for our family of three and we appreciated the milk and muffins left for us! Our son loved them. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Would absolutely stay again!
Fantastic detached bungalow with all of the facilities you could need for a self catering stay. In a great location to visit all of the nearby attractions the surrounding area has to offer. Friendly host living close by who helped with any questions that we had, and who left some welcome gifts for us on arrival. Good friendly pub nearby also. Would definitely stay again in the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Smithy, very comfortable well thought out accommodation and dog friendly too. Fascinating history and restoration of the cottage in keeping with the rest of the beautiful village. We will definitely be staying here again.
Beautifully presented property, full of charm, ideal for my family, age range 8 to 80. Very comfortable beds, excellent bathroom facilities, very private, & very dog friendly garden. Mine host very approachable & extremely helpful.
Immaculate accommodation in a lovely area. Very spacious and has all the amenities required. Thank you to Martin who was a great host. Particularly liked the photos showing the renovation of the property.
Highly recommended place to stay.

Fantastic accommodation
We stayed here for a short 3 night trip for my dads 70th birthday. The cottage is in a beautiful location with a nice pub located right on your doorstep. Leamington spa and Stratford upon Avon are good days out and not too far away. Plenty of golf courses and spa locations in the vicinity. WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND.

Thanks for this lovely endorsement - we hope to see you again!
Lovely location and a very nice place to stay. Good facilities, and good communication with Martin the owner. Oh and probably the largest DVD and CD collection I have ever seen !!
We really enjoyed our short stay at The Old Smithy. The accommodation was warm, well-equipped and furnished to a high standard. The garden area provides a quiet area for relaxation. The art work, CDs and videos help to give the Smithy a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Great location - a lovely stay. Thank you Martin & Heather.

A lovely property in the heart of the village
A great stay with very welcoming hosts. The property is really well fitted but still comfortable and welcoming, and we couldn't have asked for more. It's well equiped, well kept, and with everything you need.
A plus of us was the single floor as we had an 83 year old with us.
The garden is lovely and we were able to make full use of it. Will definately stay again

We're delighted you enjoyed the cottage and your stay. Thanks for the lovely review
A lovely converted ( and extended) Smithy. Very comfortable with everything required for guest convenience. Really comfortable bed. The biggest bonus is the EV charging point plus the adjacent cosy pub 😀. The host is most welcoming and the Welcome Pack was much appreciated. We stayed here as it was convenient for visiting an elderly parent but can highly recommend it

Flooring lifting and broken health and safety issue garden hedge overgrown should be cut back as it overhangs garden
Being all on one level was a bonus for us as me & my sister had our 87 year old Mum with us. We had everything we needed for a lovely 3 night break in a scenic part of the country surrounded by rural villages and interesting places to visit. I had some questions before arriving and Martin answered straight away & was very helpful. The home made cake that was left (made by their daughter) was delicious and the thoughtful touches were much appreciated. The only thing I would say is that maybe the leaflets could do with going through & updating but there are plenty of tourist information centres around so it wasn't a problem.

Thanks for your helpful comments Tracey - I'll sift through the accumulated leaflest and info!
This property provided a great base for exploring the area. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay. We were especially glad of the milk, cake & wine on arrival. The owner had kindly warmed the place up for us prior to arrival & all communication & check in was excellent. The collection of CD's & DVD's is out of this world & caters for all tastes. We were travelling with a 9 month old & took everything we needed, but there is plenty provided to help with a little one like high chair, travel cot, washing machine etc.
We visited Stratford, Warwick, Banbury, Southam & took a walk along the nearby canal. The pub just around the corner does a great Chinese takeaway.

We're glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you very much for the helpful private feedback you gave us.
A very interesting cottage, The Old Smithy, will be a memorable stay. Owner, Martin, very efficient and helpful. Nice to have access to a garden with decent furniture. If you enjoy music and films there are plenty to choose from. The bed was extremely comfortable, best night's sleep we have experienced. We were left a very generous welcome pack which was very enjoyable. There is a pub within yards of the property which welcomed us. This has a very good Chinese take away just behind it which you can access through the pub. We visited Stoneleigh Abbey, close by, with a tour of the house £8 each, well worth it. We then had an afternoon tea (requires booking) which was excellent. Beautiful grounds to explore with a river, including ducks and geese.
We found The Old Smithy perfect for our family stay with the kids (17, 12 and 4 year old cockapoo!) It is such a quirky building with a musical decor that was a big hit with us all. It has a fabulous enclosed garden for quiet sunny breakfasts or a cold beer after a day exploring the local area. We covered Stratford, Coventry, Leamington Spa and Warwick whilst there and also visited Napton, Daventry and Southam (Napton Cidery was a big hit!)
The cottage has a full kitchen and clothes washing facilities and we bought supplies at the large Tesco in Southam to cook. We also had a treat takeaway from The Hollybush pub (and a visit every night with dog for a pint and game of cars in the sunny beer garden - live music on a Saturday was great there too!)
The cottage is very clean and comfortable and Martin and Heather were great hosts letting us know additional info whilst we were staying (there was a heatwave so Martin told us where to find a fan to help us stay cool!) We will definitely be back for further stays.
Lovely property. Very cosy and warm with everything you'll need for your stay. Owner close by if any issues arise. Plenty of walks around the local area and there is lots to do a short drive away.
Second stay lovely place very comfortable, delicious lemon drizzle cake on arrival. So many birds in thier garden, also heard tawny owls at night time. Would really recommend the Chinese takeaway next door best chinese food ever x
An interesting property with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Nice welcome with a bottle of wine and homemade cake. Tucked away in the country- could be quite remote for some visitors.

About the host
Hosted by Martin Jezzard
Heather and I live with our two much loved dogs in a very old property in the beautiful village of Priors Marston.
Why they chose this property
We love Priors Marston and the surrounding area. It's quiet and rural, with lovely walks, whilst excellent shops and places to visit are within easy reach.
What makes this property unique
We restored the outbuildings at our property to provide the sort of accommodation we look for when we go away on holiday. A peaceful place from which to enjoy a lovely part of the country.
An old map revealed that the building had once been a Smithy - hence its name!
