The Vine - A Luxurious Cotswold Escape for Two.
Savour the stunning spring scapes of the Cotswolds with a last-minute escape to The Vine, a stylish 5★ hideaway for two in the heart of Winchcombe. This light, modern apartment offers the perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds’ charming villages, independent shops, and scenic walking trails. Available this March and during Cheltenham Gold Cup Week.
Your host, Amanda, has been welcoming guests for over a decade, and it shows in the luxurious touches and thoughtful details throughout this beautifully appointed space.
The Vine is a bespoke 5★ apartment designed for two, with generous outdoor space and a charming breeze house where you can relax and take in the gorgeous views in complete peace. Located just 8 miles north of Cheltenham, Winchcombe is the perfect base for exploring the picturesque villages of the north Cotswolds. The property also includes a private parking space on our driveway.
If you’re a racing enthusiast, Prestbury Park—home of the famous Cheltenham Gold Cup—is only a short drive away. With so much to discover in the area, you can enjoy wonderful walks straight from the doorstep or experience one of Cheltenham’s many festivals.
We have availability from 7th March. This is a perfect time to experience the picturesque Cotswolds during the quieter winter months. Perfect for winter walks or cosy pubs lunches.
The blend of a warm, modern interior filled with natural light and generous outdoor garden space makes The Vine a true gem—one that guests have been returning to ever since it opened. Downstairs, underfloor heating creates a cosy atmosphere, while the sky lantern and wide patio doors flood the space with daylight. You can unwind on the large sofa and watch nature right outside your door, or—if you need to work during your stay—take advantage of the fast Wi-Fi and bright, airy setting, with the dining table doubling perfectly as a desk.
The charming village of Broadway is just 5 miles away, known for its elegant high street and year-round twinkling lights. You can even hop aboard the heritage GWR steam train to explore nearby villages in classic Cotswold style.
And after a day discovering the area’s beautiful towns and countryside, return to the peace and quiet of The Vine on Langley Road—your haven in the Cotswolds.
Enter through your own private entrance into the limestone-floored sitting room, slip off your shoes, and enjoy the comfort of underfloor heating as you relax on the handmade Heals of London sofa. A wall-mounted 50-inch TV is perfect for catching up on sport or unwinding after a day exploring.
Upstairs, the bedroom suite features an inviting John Lewis king-size bed dressed in luxurious, high-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and quilted covers. From the window, you can enjoy views towards Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds. The bathroom includes a slipper bath and separate shower, with underfloor-heated Travertine tiles to keep you cosy, and views out to Langley Hill.
Whether you’re cooking or ordering a takeaway, the granite-topped dining table—accented by Jasper Conran wall lighting—provides a stylish place to eat. A dishwasher makes tidying up effortless.
The landscaped terrace is yours to enjoy, whether you’re firing up the BBQ or relaxing with a chilled glass of wine from the fridge. Beyond the terrace, the lawn stretches out to open countryside and the rolling Cotswold hills.
Unlike many properties in Winchcombe, we offer a private parking space on our own driveway—a rare luxury in the town—and we’re only a short walk from the centre.
Why Winchcombe? Often described as the hidden gem of the Cotswolds, Winchcombe truly has it all—even its own castle. Sudeley Castle, renowned for its 1,000 years of royal history and magnificent gardens, is just a short walk from the property.
Winchcombe is a paradise for walkers: the Cotswold Way, Gloucestershire Way, and Wychavon Way all pass through the town, while the Wardens Way and Windrush Way both start and finish here. For those seeking history and breathtaking scenery, Belas Knap, a Neolithic long barrow perched above Humblebee Wood, offers spectacular panoramic views. You can also discover the remains of a Roman villa hidden in a peaceful valley on lower ground.
The town proudly holds Walkers Are Welcome status and hosts an annual walking festival each May, as well as a growing music and arts festival. Despite being less well known than some of the classic Cotswold hotspots, Winchcombe enjoys a reputation as a truly fabulous destination, with more than 60 charming independent shops that draw in locals and visitors year-round.
Stroll among centuries-old buildings, including beautifully preserved medieval structures and several 15th-century coaching inns—now welcoming restaurants—all set against the backdrop of rolling countryside that stretches for miles.
So what are you waiting for? Come and discover Winchcombe.

Beautiful property in a great location for exploring the Cotswolds and surrounding area. Its only a short walk to the town centre, pubs and shops.Amanda and Paul have created a cosy place with all that you need for your stay.Had a great time, thanks to you both.
This part of England is very beautiful ! Attractive countryside, lovely old villages, very well preserved. The cottage we stayed in was part of a street of very old terraced houses. It was lovely and comfortable.
Super comfy holiday home, super clean and all mod cons. Located in a lovely quiet secluded area but close enough to the towns amenities. Beautiful garden area for lazy evenings with a glass of wine taking in the open views! If you were to stay in November/December would highly recommend the Spectacle of Light at Sudeley Castle. The Vine is well placed for visiting many of the splendour’s of the Cotswolds. Highly recommend.

Thank you Lyn. It was a pleasure to welcome you & Steve to our holiday home.
The Vine had everything and more that we required. The accommodation was very clean and well apportioned with quality all around. The garden was a lovely addition especially appreciated on two very hot days. Perfect location for exploring surrounding the area. There was no need to use the car as there is plenty of walking, history and places to eat in and around Winchcombe. We really enjoyed our holiday. Thank you.

Thank you Andrew. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to welcome you to The Vine. Amanda
Lovely location, especially the view from the rear garden. Good position for access for walks, days out and friendly local pubs. Property was of high spec quality and clean and well equipped. Thank you Amanda.
This was the 1st time we’d done a self catering holiday in the UK and everything was fantastic. The property is perfect for a week or even a 2 week stay. Everything has been done to a very high standard and it was lovely and clean, more important than ever in the current climate. The location is spot on, plenty of places to eat and drink in the village which is less than a 10 minute walk away. Amanda and Paul are great hosts, on hand if you need them but they respect your privacy. We will definitely return to this peaceful property in a lovely setting.
An excellent holiday home on the edge of Winchcombe with fabulous views. The property was of a high standard and obviously well looked after by Amanda and Paul. It had everything we needed for a great holiday - including the sunshine 🌞 The village is a short stroll away and has plenty of lovely places to eat most of them with outdoor gardens- which was ideal in the current climate. Winchcombe is a quaint Cotswold village without the usual crowds and ideally located for walking and exploring the rest of the Cotswolds.
This was our first visit to the Cotswolds and The Vine was the perfect property from which to explore. The apartment itself was a joy to stay in, beautifully furnished in a lovely setting with great views. It is located in a quiet road yet only a short walk to the village centre, restaurants, pubs, shops, Sudeley castle & so many fantastic 'walks'. Amanda and Paul were also excellent hosts, always available if needed. 10 out of 10 in every respect!
The Vine is just a short stroll away from Winchcombe, easy walk to dine in town.
It is well situated to explore all the beautiful Cotswold towns and villages.
The property is clean, comfortable and ideal for two people. The 'Breeze' is a lovely addition in the garden to enjoy a G & T even in the rain with the warm patio heater and comfy seats.
We enjoyed our stay even though the weather was challenging at times.
Just back home after a lovely stay at the vine, in winchcombe, which is set in the beautiful North Cotswolds. The apartment is ideal for two people, offering good space and comfort in a convenient and peaceful setting. There are good facilities available in Winchcombe and good access to the surrounding area. Thank you Amanda and Paul for a great stay.
The property was very comfortable and clean. Amazing views from the garden and we loved the Breeze room. Amanda and Paul were very welcoming and friendly.
The location was perfect for exploring the Cotswolds and doing some of the gorgeous walks.
All in all we had a very enjoyable stay.
Very well appointed property, well maintained and with some fine features indoors and outdoor. Quiet neighbourhood in a semi-rural setting but not so far off the beaten track. Best of both really.
A lovely stay - thank you Amanda. Beautiful setting in lovely village and all amenities in walking distance. Beautiful garden with breeze house which we made good use of with a glass of wine.
Great property for two and very nice family to stay with who never intruded but we're there if needed. The vine is just the right distance from the town to be peaceful yet within easy walking distance to pubs etc.
Lovely, comfortable place to stay. Small kitchen space a slight downside but perfect for breakfast and snacks and there are plenty of good pubs, restaurants and cafes to eat in within walking distance.
Great location for walking and exploring.

Exceptionally nice stay
We have just had a lovely stay at the vine. We found this to be an excellent base to visit all the places we wanted to visit during our stay. The property was very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was particularly nice. Every effort was made to make us feel at home and we would like to thank Amanda for making our holiday so enjoyable. (the 4 days of sun helped also!)
I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Very comfortable, stylish accommodation
We spent 5 days at The Vine in early December. After sightseeing & walking in the cold & in heavy rain, The Vine was a lovely, warm, comfortable place to return to. The location is surprisingly quiet but also provides good access to Winchcombe which is just a short walk away. Loved the roof lantern, spacious bedroom & views from the living area.
Many thanks to Amanda for all the goodies.

About the host
Hosted by Amanda Houghton-Brown
Paul and Amanda fell in love with Winchcombe when they moved here in 2002. In 2007, shortly after the birth of their second daughter, Paul spotted the potential in a property on a large plot that became available on Langley Road. Together, we have transformed the property into the family home with luxurious guest accommodation which it is today. Langley Road is a one of the quietest roads in Winchcombe. It is situated to the south west of the village and we are fortunate to see more tractors and horses on the road outside than cars. Most properties available in Winchcombe do not offer off road parking. The Vine is one of the only ones on offer which does as there is parking for one car on our private driveway where you can leave your car safely while walking in the Cotswolds.
Why they chose this property
The light and airy interior mingles with the garden and fields beyond the French doors at The Vine. Through the large French windows you can sit and enjoy the sunset over the garden. Once dark, look up through the beautiful skylight in the sitting room to admire the constellations. Or from your own sunny patio you can sit quietly with a glass of wine and listen to the birdsong. The Vine has been running successfully as a holiday cottage since 2015 and with a background in the hotel industry Amanda knows how to look after her guests whether that is in the cleanliness & boutique hotel feel of the property or in her local knowledge of where to dine or what shows and festivals are on in Cheltenham or surrounding villages. Upon arrival you will receive a welcome pack with recommendations of places to visit during your stay. In the fridge you will find a complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate your first night of the holiday. In the larder a selection of teas, coffee, sugar, flour, cooking oil and rice are also provided. Tea towels and washing up cloths are a thoughtful addition. For people who enjoy cooking a single induction hob and combination microwave oven are also provided. You really only need your own fresh ingredients which can be bought from the local grocery store. Parking is a premium in Winchcombe and many properties are unable to offer a designated parking space. The Vine can offer you secure off road parking for one car at the property address. From The Vine it is only a short 5 minute walk into the centre of Winchcombe where all the amenities, shops, pubs and restaurants are. For some people they park up and really don't use their car all stay as Winchcombe is in the heart of the Cotswold Walking Route and one can escape into the countryside as soon as you step outside the property. If you need somewhere to store your bikes or wellie boots, additional space can be provided.
What makes this property unique
Quiet Location within a short walk of the town centre. Stunning new hand made Breeze House over looking the beautiful Cotswold escarpment beyond. Lighting and Heating within this beautiful bespoke Breeze House just at the end of the garden for your private enjoyment. Take a bottle of wine and watch the sun set over the hill beyond. Off road parking provided on our paved driveway. Secure off road parking is a rare find in Winchcombe and certainly a unique benefit of this property.
