About this property
Pylewell Annex · Gower AONB · Dog-Friendly · Walk to Coast
A one-bedroom flat for two, 1.5 miles from Rhossili Bay (about five minutes by car). The flat is an annex to the main house and has its own private entrance. I live in the main house it's attached to, and I greet every guest in person on arrival to point you to the best walks, pubs, and beaches. My family's been in Gower for generations, and I've lived in the area all my life. I keep a small flock of sheep on the land around the house. The main house has the character of a traditional Gower farm building, but the annex is fully modern with up-to-date plumbing and electrics and a full kitchen. Designed for two. Ground-floor living, one short step up, no stairs inside. Officially graded four stars by Visit Wales, with Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome accreditations. The beach: 1.5 miles from the UK's No.1 dog-friendly beach (The Times) — Rhossili Bay. Among Lonely Planet's 100 best beaches in the world (2024), and voted Britain's Best Beach by TripAdvisor two years running (3rd in Europe, 9th in the world). The wreck of the Helvetia is still visible at low tide. Dogs: One well-behaved dog welcome. You'll find a bowl, towel, treats, and poo bags provided, and there's an outside tap for washing sandy paws. Walkers: Local footpaths cross the fields surrounding the property. The Wales Coast Path is 15 minutes away on foot. Cyclists: Secure bike storage and a drying area for wet kit. Inside: Log burner with a starter pack of logs and kindling. Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher. Walk-in shower. Smart TV with Freeview. Free WiFi. Outside: Your own private patio with table and chairs. Private entrance with parking space. Welcome bottle of wine and chocolates or biscuits waiting for you. Privacy with a host on hand. You've got the annex to yourselves, but I'm in the main house if you need anything — directions, pub recommendations, or a tip on which footpath to try. Open March to November. 7-night minimum stay (Saturday changeover) May–September; 3-night minimum March, April, October, November. Rated 9.6/10 from 78 guest reviews on VRBO.

Cosy, well appointed annex with views across the peninsula. Friendly and helpful host. Ideal location for visiting popular spots. Walking from the door possible.
Accommodation was spacious, well equipped and in a great location for exploring the Gower. Steve was a welcoming and generous host providing loads of useful information about local walks, pubs, etc. We hope to return.
We had a lovely time at the property. Steve, the owner, was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Everything that we needed was in there and Steve was happy to help with recommendations of places to eat etc. We couldn't ask for anything more and can't recommend this stay highly enough. Superb.

The annexe had everything you needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The host (Steve) was very friendly and helpful. The views from the annexe over the Gower countryside was stunning, and its location so close to Rhossili Bay and its excellent beach was a real bonus.

Owner Steve is a local man who lives next door. He is the perfect host: very friendly and helped us with recommendations, directions, and very accurate weather forecasts 😄. We can't wait to go back.
Steve is a very welcoming, helpful, and endlessly knowledgeable host. The annexe is perfect for 2 adults and a dog - out in the countryside but just a few minutes drive to the best of the Gower's dog-friendly beaches. And back at the annexe there are Steve's 2 dogs to play with in the very large garden!

Fabulous.
Steve ist ein wunderbarer Vermieter. Die Übergabe war ohne Probleme und wir wurden sehr nett Willkommen geheißen.
Unser Hund „Lizzy“ wäre gerne dageblieben..
Charming cottage, with a lovely sleeping room, a well equiped kitchen and cosy living room. The view from the terrace is stunning.
Steve is the most caring landlord we have met so far. I injured my food and thanks to Steve‘s bandages and crutches we nevertheless could explore the beautiful beaches.
