About this property

Trullo, Infinity Pool & Stunning Views / Explore Puglia’s Itria Valley & Beaches

Trullo Tramonto is a beautifully restored trullo, redesigned by a Milanese architect to an exceptional standard. Set on a peaceful hillside in the heart of the Itria Valley, it offers panoramic views and stunning sunsets — “tramonto” meaning sunset in Italian.
The centrepiece of the property is a 13-metre infinity-edge pool with a shallow beach area, perfect for cooling off while enjoying uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside.
Inside, the trullo features three bedrooms and two bathrooms (one ensuite). The open-plan living and dining area connects to a well-equipped kitchen with marble countertops. A unique internal ‘cave room’ provides a cool and quiet additional living space — ideal for reading or relaxing.
Outdoors, you’ll find a shaded sitting area perfectly positioned to take in the sunset over Martina Franca and Locorotondo. The outdoor kitchen and dining area includes a large stone table, BBQ, and sink — ideal for summer evenings.
The mature garden is filled with fruit trees, including cherry, apricot, plum, peach, apple, fig, pomegranate, sharon fruit, olive, and almond, along with a well-stocked herb garden for guest use.

We had such a wonderful two week stay in this lovely house. Beautiful pool and views in a very peaceful rural setting. Loved visiting all the hilltop towns, fantastic food and the sea. Tracey (the owner) provided so many wonderful and personal recommendations, including restaurants, local shopping, preferred beaches etc - many of which we followed and were all excellent. Highlights included Matera, boat trips, a wonderful small restaurant in Martina Franca, shopping in Cisternino, Ostuni and more!

Gorgeous trullo and magnificent outdoor space

We had a wonderful stay. The pool and outdoor areas were beautiful and plenty of areas to lounge as well as a very nice outdoor eating space. We loved the pool. House was great for our family as spent most time outdoors. Cool cave area which was a great escape from heat.

Great Trulli centrally located

We had an amazing time staying here while in Puglia. The outdoor pool area is amazing with the most beautiful sunsets. The location was perfect for all of our day trips to surrounding towns. We enjoyed wine and music down in the 'cave' - the acoustics were amazing!! It is a truly unique and beautiful property!

Stunning!

Such an incredibly beautiful house and location. Communication with the owner was fantastic (especially the personal recommendations she gave us) as was service from the team on location. The pool was an absolute standout- unusual to get such a generous size and set in the most amazing setting with views over the countryside and sunsets in the evenings. Would thoroughly recommend!

Beautiful Trulli villa in the countryside

Stunning property with the most beautiful outdoors area in the countryside in Puglia. We stayed as a family of 6, all adults. The villa was well equipped and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. I’d like to extend my thanks to Tracy and the management team for the villa who were most helpful with recommendations or help when required.

Magical Holiday

This Villa looks absolutely amazing on the listing, but let me tell you, it’s breathtaking when you actually arrive and see it in all its glory! We had the best few days we could have asked for, eating at the local restaurants and drinking the local wine whilst watching the sunset from the Villa! We will 100% be visiting again, absolutely could not fault anything, so thank you!

A dream come true

We wanted something special for our silver wedding anniversary and found exactly the right place here. Trullo Tramato is traditional - but with all modern comfort. It is luxurious - but not overdone. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy. Highly recommendable.

Beautiful Trullo with gorgeous sunsets

We had an amazing 2 week holiday at this beautiful trullo. The outside living areas were wonderful. The pool is lovely although it is very deep with no shallow end. That said my 5 year old daughter can now swim! The view is lovely and sunsets spectacular. The quiet location ensures a totally peaceful and relaxing holiday.

Great Trulli. Incredible pool

Idyllic setting with a wonderful pool. Bedrooms comfortable and bathrooms modern. No need for air con except the one day it reached 39 degrees outside! Kitchen petite but functional. Just missing an outdoor pizza oven!

Private paradise

Our family of four loved the week stay at this trullo. Tracy, the owner, was easy to communicate with and honest with her listing. The home and grounds are lovely; as described and shown on this site. The home was clean and well maintained. The local managers were also kind and available if needed. I would recommend this property; it's a great place to relax and explore the Puglia region.

So Cool!

Unbelievable Trullo with an awesome location! The pool was beautiful and overlooked acres of olive trees. The property was full of fruit and almond trees. The figs were delicious!! From the back patio you can see the hilltop villages that surround the property. Beautiful sunsets, very peaceful and private!

Trulli scrumptious..

Trullo Tramonto is a delightful spot for enjoying all things Puglian. Fab pool, lovely views, very peaceful and thoughtfully equipped with all one could need. Great outdoor space and well located for very good mini market/restaurants close by. Sarah was on hand to meet and greet and a pleasure to deal with. Altogether marvellous. Thanks Tracy.

Cozy, practical trullo and yet so beautiful

We have just returned home after spending a week in this trullo, we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you prefer to stay away from all the tourists, this is the place to go. Lots of things to see in 30-45 min. distance - Alberobello, Polignano a Mare (boat ride is a must), Grotte di Castellana, Locorotondo. The food is superb - fresh fish from Pescheria in Cisternino, meat from local macellerias, its so easy to cook with great ingredients. We loved sitting in the little lounge area by the pool watching sunsets drinking great wine, we will definitely miss it!

Beautiful, tranquil, relaxing Trullo

We loved every moment in this beautiful home. The trullo was comfortable, well kitted out and everything that we needed. The outside area was the gem of this property. The infinity pool looking out over the view was exceptional, the seating area and outside kitchen was lovely (we spent two whole days just at the villa because it was so beautiful and relaxing). Plenty of places to go and see and eat all within a short drive. Highlights for us were Martina Franca, Locorotondo, Matera and the Adriatic coast for lovely sandy beaches. We were sad to leave at the end of our holiday and will definitely be back again.

Getaway in the Italian countryside

Our family had such a lovely time in this trulli and a wonderful vacation in Southeast Italy. The property is nestled amongst an olive groves along with fig, rosemary, and lavender dotting the property. The pool and outdoor space was well used even in October. It was perfectly located being 20 minutes away from Ostuni, Alberobello, and Locorotondo. The structure itself was cozy with enough features to cook and entertain a family of three. The bedrooms were spacious and bathrooms modernized. Puglia pools, who manage the property, were mostly our concierge service. they booked activities, experiences, and reservations for us so it was like having the benefits of staying in a hotel. I would definitely recommend visiting Puglia whether with family or a group of friends. The trulli experience is the best way to immerse yourself and create a memorable experience.

We'll Be Back

Trullo Tramonto was our introduction to Puglia. Both the property, and the enthusiastic notes in the visitors' book, were evidence of the owners' delight in their holiday home and their determination to ensure that visitors had all they needed for a perfect stay. We did not even have to venture out to shop on the first day as the selection of local produce awaiting us at the trullo had all we needed, and treats as well! The local people who maintain the property and its surroundings were open, friendly, very helpful, tolerant of our pidgin Italian - and very suntanned! On our first morning we drove to Ostuni market and had a memorable shopping adventure with stallholders keen for us to taste their produce, adding free olives, an extra couple of eggs, an extra scoop of beans .... this generosity was repeated throughout our stay, cafes and restaurants offering complimentary bubbly, olives, sorbets, foccacia, biscotti... They all make you feel so special and so very welcome. We could not get over the prices. 80 cent espressos - unbelievable! When we were at the trullo the olive grove had a carpet of poppies, the lavender was in flower and the cherries were ready to pick ... which we did every day. We enjoyed familiarising ourselves with the white hill towns on the horizon and took countless photographs of the sunsets. The little pool - freshly cleaned on our arrival - was wonderful for cooling off on hot days.... just float on your back and enjoy the scent of rosemary, the blue sky and the birdsong. We did lots of excursions - and if you can manage it, it's worth getting up at dawn to reach the tourist hot spots like Alberobello and the Matera caves before everyone else does. We recommend the walk between the twin hill villages of Castelmezzano and Pietrapertosa (we didn't try the zip wire crossing!) There is a down side .... driving in the town centres was a bit of a challenge. And we didn't want to leave.

Trulli in campagna

About the host

Host profile image
We live in the UK but Italy has always held a special place in our hearts. My husband’s family is originally from Bari, and he spent many childhood holidays in Puglia. After years of enjoying Italian vacations together, we decided to buy a home of our own. We lived here for several years, during which our daughters attended school in Martina Franca.
We love cooking, travelling, and eating out — and also enjoy swimming, walking, sailing, cycling, and exploring everything this beautiful region has to offer. When we lived here full-time, we grew our own vegetables, and the herb garden we planted still thrives. Depending on the season, you’ll find a variety of organic fruit growing in the garden — from apricots and cherries to figs, peaches, plums, pomegranates, and apples.
I always welcome enquiries and enjoy speaking with guests to help them plan their stay and make the most of their time in Puglia.

Why they chose this property

We chose this area for its stunning panoramic views and peaceful, off-the-beaten-track setting — yet it’s just a short drive to Martina Franca, Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica, and Locorotondo. In fact, three of these beautiful hill towns are visible from the house! Ostuni and Alberobello are also within easy reach.
Guests often comment on how homely and comfortable the trullo feels. We love sharing our favourite local spots and restaurant discoveries, and it means a lot to us when guests enjoy it here as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

Trullo Tramonto offers a truly authentic Puglian experience. Set near the scenic Puglian Aqueduct trail, guests can walk, run, or cycle all the way to Locorotondo while enjoying panoramic views of the Itria Valley (as many of our reviews highlight).
We offer a range of curated experiences — including in-home pasta-making classes with a local chef, a simple arrival supper, bike hire, private tours, and more.
Just down the road, a family-run mini market provides everything you might need: freshly baked bread and focaccia, a well-stocked deli, excellent coffee and cakes, and a daily-changing ‘gastronomia’ with delicious homemade dishes.
