Romantic, Private, Peaceful Villa in Gaucin With Breathtaking Views To Morocco

Villa Djebel Musa is a romantic, well maintained, architect-designed villa with an infinity pool. The garden is a mixture of mature exotic palms amongst the rocks as well as wild olives and carobs filled with songbirds on top of a hillside at the southern edge of the pretty 'white village' of Gaucin.

"The best view we have seen in Spain" said one travel company. "A truly stunning property with 'wow factor'!"

Gaucin is 600 metres (2000 ft) above sea level and the secluded villa and pool afford spectacular open views down the Genal River valley to the Mediterranean and North Africa beyond. The altitude moderates temperatures in the summer compared to the coast or inland Spain. There are 3 'fine-dining' restaurants with a walk of less than 10 minutes and several good tapas bars and other restaurants.

The villa has a double-height open-plan living room with a minstrels' gallery leading to a large covered veranda. Through an archway there is dining room which leads to its own covered, outdoor dining terrace.

4 of the 5 bedrooms and the main living rooms have French windows onto their own terrace or balcony and there are other terraces around the garden.

Terracotta floors, bright rugs, Moroccan pots, comfortable seating inside and out, Satellite TV, WiFi, flowers, views, birds, sunshine!

If your dates are not available, we also manage the neighbouring villa which has the same views and an infinity pool. On the VRBO website it is titled "Luxurious, Private, Villa in Gaucin".

A few extra notes:
- A gardener visits very early morning in hot weather to water pots, a daily pool-cleaner, a multilingual House Manager and two lovely cleaners.
- It has secure off-street parking for 2 cars. Further cars can be easily parked nearby.
- The base price indicated per night or week is based on 6 people staying. For each additional person up to a max of 10 there is an extra charge to cover laundry and cleaning. The "Host Fee" in your quote is the final cleaning charge.
- Flat screen TV with Internet television & collection of Blu Ray films.
- The village centre is only a few minutes walk for tapas, restaurants, shops.
- Children are welcome but parents must consider that there are stairs down to the swimming pool and steep drops below the pool so young children will need constant supervision.

Everything about this stay was ideal! We stayed for 2 weeks and could've stayed forever. The house was beautifully decorated with an incredible view! We cooked quite a bit and the kitchen worked out pretty well for us. The owners could not have been more helpful before hand. They gave us extensive information about the area that was extremely useful. We hope to return!

Absolutely lovely week in a superb location!The house was very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped … and who wouldn’t to cook and eat in a kitchen diner with that view!Gaucin is peaceful and beautiful village and we visited a couple of excellent restaurants. We enjoyed the location so much that we only ventured out of Gaucin twice! Would absolutely recommend!

Just returned from a wonderful relaxing holiday in this beautiful villa. We were charmed by the village of Gaucín and its fabulous range of bars and restaurants. The villa itself its outstanding with so many different areas in which to sit back and soak in the amazing views. Extremely well maintained and equipped, we wouldn’t hesitate to return. This is a fabulous house with a view to die for. We never go to anywhere twice but have made an exception here. Mark is an incredibly helpful host and Esther, a very responsive house keeper. Gaucin is a perfect town with lovely restaurants and bars. We loved it. It sounds gushing but it really was that good!

Lovely villa in beautiful area

We had a great week staying at the villa. The views are amazing and we had everything we needed for our holiday. I'd advise any guests with a large car to avoid driving through the village - you can park near the bus stop on the main road and it's less than a 10 min walk.

Amazing property with spectacular views.Parking for one large vehicle or two smaller ones within the gated parking lot. The four of us stayed in four different bedrooms and found all beds were comfortable.Kitchen was well equipped and the house beautifully decorated. There is no A/C but nights were cool in October and we opened the windows. The only negative was that we could hear dogs barking at a distance in the middle of the night.Gaucin is a very pretty little town out of the very busy tourist area of the coast. We felt safe and the town has some very good restaurants. We would stay there again for sure.

Wonderful Getaway

We had a wonderful time at the house. It is a beautiful location and property. Really stunning and full of personality. Be aware, there are a lot of stairs in the property but we have that at our own home so our young girls weren’t phased and Mark had warned us when booking. Mark was a brilliant host and full of knowledge of the local birds. We have planned a return visit next year!

Living in London, we live busy urban lives with our 3 children. One of our aims is to get away more often to the stunning countryside, climate, wildlife and food of the mountains around Gaucin in Southern Spain.

Arriving at the villa in Gaucin lifts our hearts and fills us with energy. Opening the balcony doors in the morning is a special moment every day... or lighting a log fire on a cool winter evening with a book or a film after a home cooked dinner...

We like to cook, eat good food - in or out, walk in the countryside, watch the amazing bird life in this part of Spain and enjoy the friendliness of everyone in this pleasant village. And if we really want the bustle of the beach, its only 40 minutes away.

Why they chose this property

We first came to Gaucin in 1997 and fell in love with the village and the area and rented a villa here the following year too. 17 years on we finally decided to find a villa that combined all the beauty and peace of the countryside yet with the convenience of being in the village with its character and amenities a short walk from the front door.

We are very lucky to have found this wonderful villa which combines our need for open air, countryside and wide vistas with village life. The architect designed the villa to maximise the extraordinary views and ts location.

What makes this property unique

We love being in the countryside (that's all we can see from the house) and can walk into it on "GR" paths 1 minute from the front door - and there is the lush and private garden too. But if we need a fresh loaf of bread, seafood from the village market or a tapas lunch its just a 5 minute walk away... The peace and privacy of this villa match any that we have been to before - but here, we don't have to drive anywhere once we have arrived.
