Large 350m2 former bastide, with 7 bedrooms, (3 double and 4 twin, plus 2 sofa beds and 2 baby cots) 5 bathrooms, large living room, games room, inner halls, panoramic views from games room and dining room, with sweeping views of both the Lot and Garonne valleys below.

The stunning views enjoyed from the pool and bar area as well as shaded woods and view point at top of the garden.

This was such a strategic point in the 100 years war, changing hands between English and French armies several times.

An absolutely stunning location - large enough for a large group not to feel on top of each other, but small enough for us all to be on the same holiday. Steve was easy to deal with, and the house clean and tidy.

Host was very helpful and communicative in the lead up to our stay. House was in a beautiful setting with lovely views and a great outdoor pool/bar area which we enjoyed a lot. Unfortunately the house was quite dirty so we had to clean a lot when we arrived eg. Dirty crockery, tables, lots of cobwebs. The smoker and BBQ had mould in them. The kitchen was underequipped for a group of 15 - there weren't enough glasses, mugs, only 1 large pan (we had to buy a second). A few of the bedrooms lack privacy -you have to walk through some bedrooms to access others which was a bit uncomfortable.

A delightful time for 12 of us based around a core former friends from university 40 years ago. Relaxing in the shade over long breakfasts, lunches and dinners. With the opportunity to cool down in the pool with stunning views whenever needed.

Lovely house from the outside in a good location. Thank heavens the pool was great but the house is in a very poor state of repair. The downstairs rooms were damp, the shutters were broken as were the flyscreens when provided. Moreover the house was dirty - my sister had to remove large clumps of hair from the bathroom they used. We take it the sheets were clean but difficult to be sure. The kitchen has years worth of spices that need to be thrown away, insufficient wine glasses, etc. Several of the dining chairs were broken. We think that my grandson got bitten by bugs sitting on one of the sofas…Some of the issues of the leaking roof and broken toilet were quickly rectified by Edwin and the plumber the following day, thank you. We had a good holiday but cannot recommend the house in its current condition

We had an amazing stay at this 7-bedroom Manoir! It has a real French château feel to it, with stunning architecture and unbelievable views.There's so much space to hang out, eat, and enjoy yourself that it's sometimes hard to choose where to go! It's such a quiet, relaxing, and beautiful place to be. The pool, bar, and pizza oven area are just wonderful and made our stay even better.We'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable and spacious getaway.5 stars!!!

Historic property in a stunning location

So much room to spread out, both inside and outside this manoir, lofty ceilings, huge fireplaces, history abounds at Quatre Vents. The pool is magnificent and clean, the bar and pizza oven are great fun and perfect for entertaining on the long hot evenings in this part of the world, fresh figs from the garden etc… Thank you for a perfect stay.

Perfect place to think and unwind

This was the most perfect place to think and unwind over a week, while being able to head out and see nearby sites. The pool, pizza oven, and barbeque allowed us to relax and chat; the grounds allowed us enough space not to be crowded. Perfect!

Stunning location

What a wonderful place to stay! The view and especially the sunsets were incredible every day. Pizza oven (with great hints and tips from Steve) was fab. Swimming every day was such a bonus. Honestly, we didn’t really need to venture out to enjoy ourselves. However, can highly recommend the local night markets over the summer, delicious chocolate in Nérac and lovely beach in Aiguillion. Highly recommend!

Stunning location

We had a fabulous family break at this property. The location and views are truly stunning I don’t think any photo I took did it justice. We spent many hours in the pool and by the pool bar during the day and enjoyed evening bbqs watching the sunset. Had a lovely visit to night market in Nerac which I recommend. You will need a car but we drove to France so wasn’t an issue for us. The house is full of rustic charm, which we loved, and was plenty of space for multiple families to enjoy. My only slight feedback would be a little more kitchen cupboard space would be beneficial to store food but not a deal breaker as a lot of fridge space is available. Some of the loungers by pool were out of action but we went at end of summer and we all had more then enough places to sit and lay so didn’t impact us. Pool was cleaned regularly and the check in process was seamless. Big supermarket 5 mins drive. A great time had by all (ages ranges from 5, teenagers to 50+). I am very much missing the views, sun and pool. Thank you also for answering all my multiple questions pre visit!

Idyllic scenic comfortable house

Quatre Vents is a perfect destination for an idyllic summer break I couldn’t recommend it more highly. We arrived as a spectacular sunset was in full swing and that was repeated on most nights. The house is high on a hill, it’s difficult to convey the extent of the panoramic views from the house and both terraces! When sitting by the pool you take it all in and that makes a perfect setting for relaxed summer living. We could have happily relaxed by the pool all holiday. In the afternoons we enjoyed BBQ’s and pizza nights at the bar by the pool which was wonderful. The house itself was comfortable and spacious with good showers, a bath and comfortable beds. We enjoyed having outside tables on two terraces for meals to choose to be in the sun or shade at different times of day. The conservatory was useful with a table we ate at and played cards and other games. There was also table tennis and table football all well used by our family! We didn’t manage all the outings we had planned, there is plenty to do in the region. On our way we went to the Dune du Pilat near Bordeaux which is a stunning coastal area, a beach with a huge sand dune. we kayaked on the river Lot. We also hired bikes including a tandem and rode along the canal tow path, a beautiful setting shaded by an avenue of poplar trees. There are plenty of very ancient villages to stop at and enjoy. We shopped at several of the farmers’ markets and ate fresh fruit and veg. Steve is a responsive friendly host.

Disappointing Stay at Quatre Vents Accommodation

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Quatre Vents accommodation and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the vacation home boasted a spacious layout, the overall condition of the property was quite disappointing. One of the major letdowns were the unclean beds and living spaces. It was evident that proper cleaning had not taken place, and the overall tidiness was lacking. Moreover, the state of the furniture and household appliances was equally disheartening – many were not only dirty but also in a state of disrepair. On a positive note, I cannot deny the beauty of the location and the captivating views that Quatre Vents offered. The scenic surroundings and picturesque vistas certainly added a redeeming quality to the stay. However, considering the various issues with cleanliness and maintenance, I must say that the price-to-quality ratio fell far short of expectations. The experience did not justify the cost, and I found myself disappointed with the overall value. Taking all these factors into consideration, I regretfully cannot recommend this accommodation to fellow travelers. It's clear that improvements in maintenance and cleanliness are necessary to truly provide a pleasant stay for guests.

Hugely disappointing experience

I stayed 6 nights in August ‘16. It was hugely disappointing due to the owner’s handling of the booking and the dire state of the villa. I made a 7-night booking in January ’16. The owner confirmed the dates and duration in writing. Just 12 days before my trip and after I’d paid the full rent/deposit, he informed me he had double-booked part of my stay. He offered to put me up in a local B&B that was much cheaper than his own property. I didn’t accept because I booked the villa to have privacy, space and a private pool. I pointed out that Owners Direct explicitly forbids double-booking and that waiting to the last minute to tell me was unethical. I asked to cancel the full booking. He refused. Only after I threatened legal action and started a formal complaint with Owners Direct did he offer a reasonable settlement. I had no choice but to accept and stay fewer nights; it was too late for anything else. The villa itself was horrible. Although the location is beautiful and the pictures make it look great, it’s not. To start, it’s filthy and in disrepair: - Cobwebs and dead bugs were all over: cobwebs on furniture, around windows, in the bedrooms, on the curtains; dead flies on window sills and floors. - Walls were marked with blood of insects killed by previous inhabitants. - There were dirty dishes in the cupboards and old coffee grinds in the coffee maker. - The outside tables were filthy: one had food remains, greasy hand prints and oil smudges; the other had layers of tree droppings. - Curtain rods were literally falling off walls. - One bathroom had a broken shower head bracket. Beyond being filthy, the villa disappoints for other reasons: - There’s only one window in the whole place with a screen. If it’s hot outside, you have two choices at night: open the windows and sleep with a room full of bugs and mosquitoes or close them and suffocate. It was truly hot and miserable inside at night. - The pool is not heated and has very cold water. We reported problems to the owner during our stay. He offered no compensation despite our having had to clean the place to make it habitable. After the rental, the owner didn’t return the deposit when promised. I had to chase. I have stayed at lots of villas and understand that problems can happen. But this experience was beyond the pale and completely ruined our holiday.

We're sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay, as all our other guests have had such a wonderful time. The pool is 27c and might feel cooler if, for example, the air temperature 35c outside on a hot day. This temperature is deliberate as a higher temperature wouldn't be so refreshing when needed most on hot days. Unfortunately, due to a one off mix up on arrival times, we were not able make the house as sparkling clean as usual. The early arrival gave less time to carry out our usual thorough clean between groups. As you know, a 50% discount was given, in addition to an already reduced rate. We also offered you your own choice of alternative accommodation with a generous budget which you chose not to accept. The security deposit was returned within 5 working days. We want everyone to love staying in our French getaway as much as we and everyone else has and we do everything we can to make this happen.

Les photos de la locations datent certainement de quelques années. A notre arrivée nous avons constaté que les derniers locataires devaient visiblement être des insectes en tous genres. Les rideaux de la salle intérieur sont défraichis, jaunis, ... soit une pâle copie de la photo de présentation. Nous avions demandé à l'hôte de bénéficier de la maison dés notre arrivée, mais au vu du montant de 250 réclamé nous nous sommes ravisés (cher payé pour quelques heures). Le mobilier est également à rafraichir, quant à la cuisine, n'en parlons pas. De plus, il semble que les occupants laissent derrière eux des restes de nourritures (épices, pâtes, ....) qui sont rendus impropres à la consommation vu la présence de toiles d'araignées à l'intérieur des meubles, ... et le matériel de cuisine est trop limité pour un logement pouvant accueillir autant de personnes. Soit, une maison qui dispose de commodités pour un groupe de 15 personnes mais qui nécessite plus d'entretien.

La maison et les équipements de la cuisine sont amplement suffisants pour accueillir votre groupe (14 personnes en chambre, plus le canapé-lit). Nous avons passé un séjour idéal à 16 personnes (9 adultes et 7 enfants) dans cette maison. La piscine avec son pool house bar et son four à pizza sont incontestablement l'atout majeur. La maison est également spacieuse, bien équipée, fraîche (vieilles pierres) avec une vue imprenable sur le couché de soleil. Le bonheur ! Nous recommandons !

Mooi verblijf voor groep

Tijdens ons verblijf was het zeer warm. Er is geen airco voorzien. Het poolhuis bij het zwembad was een topper, De ruimte in het huis is ook een troef. Als je het niet te nauw neemt betreffende netheid dan is dit echt een topper. Het huis heeft een opfris beurt nodig. De gastheer is zeer vriendelijk. Huren via VRBO is een aanrader.

Prestations ne correspondent pas à l'annonce

Nous avons réservé pour 17 personnes en familles pour la pentecôte 2024. Heureusement que tout le monde ne dormait pas dans les couchages proposés (certains sont venu en van) car certains vieux canapé lit sont en fin de vie(sommier à ressort détendu) et la propreté du logement était très moyenne. Il a fallut faire un peu de menage avant de s'installer. Mais nous avons etait très désagréablement surpris de la piscine. Le propriétaire nous avez prévenu que la piscine avait une fuite mais qu'elle etait chauffée et propre. Nous sommes arrivés avec une piscine sale, avec des algues vertes au fond, froide puisque alimentée par un robinet de remplissage extérieur pour combler la fuite. Sans revêtement de piscine classique(à même le ciment). La véranda où se trouve la salle de jeu et tables pour manger a été infondée suite à une belle averse(grosse fuite en toiture). Le reste reste convenable.

Bonjour Je suis content que votre séjour se soit plutôt bien passé, mais je suis désolé que la piscine n'était pas prête, elle a maintenant un nouveau revêtement (nous n'avons pas pu l'installer car le temps printanier était trop frais) et les autres travaux d'entretien ont été pris en charge. Nous sommes impatients de vous accueillir à nouveau. Bonne journee Steve

Gîte idéal pour grand groupe

Gîte idéal pour un grand groupe, nous étions 16 adultes et 3 enfants. Mais la maison n'est pas assez habitée ni aérée, ça sent beaucoup le renfermé, surtout dans les chambres du bas ou celles à l'extérieur. Et surtout, la maison est infestée de punaises, nous en avons enlevé des dizaines tout au long du séjour, c'est moyennement plaisant... Il manque aussi de la vaisselle, pour de grands groupes comme ça, c'est bien d'avoir au moins un verre à pied pour chacun et des couverts en conséquence aussi. Ce sont des choses à améliorer pour les prochains locataires. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour malgré ces petits désagréments.

Les insectes étaient des insectes boucliers qui arrivaient occasionnellement en automne, heureusement pas depuis les lits ! Il y a 20 couverts, vaisselle, etc., désolé si cela ne suffit pas. je te souhaite un bon voyage

Week-end agréable

Nous avons passé deux jours avec amis et enfants. Très spacieux et pratique pour venir nombreux. Les équipements et le cadre sont top : très belle vue, piscine, four à pizza etc. Mais aussi cuisine complète équipée. En revanche, lieu assez humide, le ménage est à revoir (pas mal d’insectes morts qui traînent).

Excellent sejour

Très bon séjour . Bons couchages excepté clic clac et convertible peu confortables. Un peu juste en vaisselle (9 cuillères à café pour 18 personnes). Manoir à recommander sans problème

We stay at Quatre Vents several times a year, wish it were more! and each time discover something new about the garden and surrounding area; it's like a treasure trove slowly being opened

Love the countryside, proximity to airports with cheap flights, peaceful private location, yet 5mins to boulangerie and supermarket
....and of course the views from the house, pool, bar and garden, we looked at a lot of places before chooisng Quatre Vents
