Lovely 3 Bed/3 Bath Converted Barn With Shared Indoor Pool, Sauna & Tennis Court

The Grain Store is a comfortable, light and airy converted stone barn situated on a lovely 21 acre country estate with use of communal indoor heated pool, sauna, hard court tennis court, games room (with pool table, table tennis and table football), 9 hole pitch and putt and full size snooker room. Close to award winning beaches and stunning coastal walks, it makes an ideal setting for family holidays or special gatherings.

The Grain Store offers families and groups a high standard of luxury accommodation across 3 large bedrooms (1 ground floor), all with en-suite bathrooms, and a further separate ground floor cloakroom. White Company bedlinen and towels are provided and a well behaved pet is welcome subject to a cleaning supplement (any additional pets are subject to prior discussion with the owner and an additional cleaning charge).

The property benefits from a large, open plan kitchen, dining, living space with double height ceilings and solid wood flooring. Complimentary super fast Starlink wifi is provided.

The kitchen includes a dishwasher, Neff gas hob and oven and microwave oven, full height fridge freezer and Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother. There is also a washer dryer located in the downstairs cupboard. The sitting room has a large flat screen smart T.V and DVD player.

There is private parking for 2 cars at the front of the property and an outside space with dining table, chairs and large Weber BBQ which captures the afternoon and evening sun, ideal for alfresco dining and bbq's.

The popular estuary towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth are close by and offer excellent water-sport facilities and an array of interesting shops, delis and restaurants including 2 supermarkets. The neighbouring village of Frogmore has an excellent bakery/village shop/post office and pub, whilst Chillington village which is only a little further away has a health centre, pub and a few more shops.

We had the best time at this property. Tom was brilliant, with lots of info to help us enjoy our stay. The house was gorgeous, so much space for us all to enjoy, with the added benefit of the games room being downstairs. We used all the facilities apart from the pool, as we had some great weather!

Fantastic Barn with great facilities

We had a lovely last minute stay in the Grain Store. The facilities were great (pool, games room etc) and the house was lovely and had everything we needed. Only negative feedback would be that some news pans are needed, the handles are really loose and a bit dangerous when using.

Great place. The house was so well equipped with absolutely everything you could need. Beds were all made up with lovely fresh linen. Lots of outside space. Pool area was clean and just right. This is a great location for a group celebration away from it all! We all loved it!

Birthday celebration

We all enjoyed the facilities especially the pool and games room. We used the tennis court and outside play areas which kept all the children big and small amused. It was very comfortable and had a great kitchen with plenty of utensils and pots and pans.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The parking is right by the door; the space inside is open, bright and spacious. The interiors are high spec. The layout is great. The beds were comfortable. All rooms are en-suite plus there is a downstairs loo. It was superbly equipped. Our kids loved the warm pool (which is deep, we took swimming aids) and enjoyed the games room. The grounds are lovely. Everything is close at hand (swings/pool/tennis court/games room). Highly recommend.

Unser Urlaub im Grain Store war wunderschön. Wir haben die absolute Ruhe, die super gepflegte Anlage, die schöne Umgebung und die tollen Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten auf der Anlage (Golf, Tennis, Billard) sehr genossen. Besonderes Highlight ist der große, gut geheizte Pool mit der Sauna. Hier haben wir uns täglich ausgiebig erholt. Die Gegend bietet tolle Strände, Buchten, Spaziergehmöglichkeiten und die hübschen Städtchen Salcombe und Dartmouth. Die Wohnung ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und gut ausgestattet. Sehr netter Kontakt mit dem Vermieter. Wir bedanken uns für die tolle Zeit und werden bestimmt nochmal wiederkommen.

A Pleasant Return

With three sections in our family we needed a three bedroomed, dog friendly location and wanted a pool too. Having enjoyed it in March we returned for a second time. It’s a lovely place to stay with on site activities as well as plenty of potential visits in the vicinity.

A very enjoyable holiday.

We found the property to be a very well equipped with enough room for nine to sit together around the dining table. We visited a different beach every day all of which were beautiful. We all enjoyed the pool and the location is perfect for children very little passing traffic.

Amazing family holiday

The Grain store was a beautiful home inside and out, it lived up to its expectations most definitely. With the age range of our 5 children it couldn’t suit any better with the tennis courts, games room and swimming pool this made our holiday. It was surrounded by stunning views in the country with a short drive to the local town of kingsbridge which was great for crabbing and has a fantastic ice cream shop called scoops. Highly recommend this property and would definitely come back. X

Great Christmas holiday

The property is very nice, it can accommodate 10 people but you will struggle to eat together as the table is for 6. The play room was fantastic if you have kids and the acces from the downstairs room is very handy. The pool was not as we expected as the water was a bit cold for small kids, the sauna is closed due to covid. But overall a very nice experience in a remote location and very relaxing. Thanx

Thank you Daniel - you were a great guest and lovely to deal with. Just to answer a couple of your comments for future guests' benefit - there are 2 foldable dining chairs which guests can use to allow 8 to eat at the main table and 4 seats at the adjacent breakfast bar. I apologise that the pool was colder than it should have been - I have enquired with the caretaker and apparently there was an issue with the heater at the time that has now been fixed. We had a wonderful autumn stay at The Grain store as two families of four. The space worked excellently. The house itself was stunning with plenty of room for us all and all the equipment you could need for a really home from home stay. Sleeping arrangements could be flexible if needed which was a real bonus for us. The location was fab with the children having a real sense of freedom, being able to play on the tennis courts and outside play area safely. The added bonus of the house was that it had its own 'secret' access to the games room which the children loved. Only a short drive from Kingsbridge, Salcombe, South Milton, Slapton Sands etc the location of the property was perfect for us to explore the area and take plenty of beach walks. The on-site caretaker was really welcoming and the owners were super quick to answer any queries we had. The handbook provided was also very informative about the property and area, helping us choose beaches to visits and walks to take. We would all recommend staying at The Grain store and would definitely return. A wonderful break.
