Villa In Roussillon-Gargas. Perfect For Those Looking For Rest And Relaxation

Nestled in an enchanting private pine and oak forest, this very pretty villa is a dream for those wishing to escape the daily grind and have a totally relaxing provencal break. The villa was completely refurbished in 2013 and manages to mix the new with the old: modern on the inside and typically "Provençal" on the outside. The newly built pool (15m x 4.5m) is a modern version of a traditional "bassin" and comes with an innovative filter system to reduce chemicals and a robot that does all the hard cleaning work. Hammocks and sun loungers are provided along with pool towels and a selection of outdoor toys (boules/ badminton). Lavender, thyme and rosemary grow in abundance in the newly landscaped garden and around the enormous terrace. A large outdoor dinning table under the pergola is perfect for al-fresco lunches on the terrace, while an outdoor "sitting room" means that you can spend all your days outside. But what makes Les Fauquieres so special and totally different to any other villa is its stunning forest location. Oaks, pines and poplars grow on ochre land and the forest is the perfect playground for kids wanting to build camps and grown ups wanting to have long walks or bike rides. For those who love antiques we are 40 minutes away from the world famous Isle sur La Sorgue antiques market and there are "brocante" sales weekly in the surrounding villages. We are a 10 minute drive from Apt and its famous Saturday market.

A Beautiful Oasis!

This place was amazing, the outdoor space, the pool, the modern kitchen, and the location! Set in the forest, and surrounded by walking trails AND withing a 30 min drives a lots of quaint towns, this home was superb. We hope to return next year!

Phenomenal home & location

We had the best holiday staying at this beautiful home nestled in the tranquil forest. We stayed with friends and had four kids under 3 and it was the perfect mix of swimming, forest walks and relaxation (despite the kids!). The house was gorgeous and very modern inside. Pierre also kindly helped us organise a babysitter who the kids adored. We couldn’t recommend this property enough, you won’t be disappointed!

AMAZING!

This is the best, most amazing, fabulous retreat ever! The pool is GORGEOUS- the setting is idyllic and so relaxing. A beautiful garden, wonderful house, we want to return again and again. Pierre was brilliant to communicate with and super helpful. You couldn’t ask for more, surrounded by beautiful woodland walks, the house is well equipped and close to many lovely villages-it is an amazing holiday haven. Thank you Pierre, such a treat to stay here, we LOVED it.

Beautiful provencal villa in a secluded place

We stayed in May/June with two families and a dog. The villa ist perfectly suited for two families, it is located in the woods with only one other neighbor around. The villa fits perfectly in the natural environment, the garden is beautiful and the pool is perfect. Two caveats: this year it was quite rainy, which is unusual. So the pathway to the villa was washed out and more like a dirt road. And the veranda could use some rain cover :-) If you come with dogs, be aware the villa is in the middle of the (beautiful) nature and the area is not enclosed. We had a splendid time and communication with the owner Pierre via messenger was nice, helpful and responsive.

Wonderful home, magical setting

What a lovely home and special place. We are a family of four with 2 young children, and could not have been more pleased with our stay. The house is large, comfortable and enjoyable for a family. We cooked nearly all our meals and found the kitchen well enough equipped. The truly unique quality of this home is the location, nestled in a beautiful, fragrant wood with an abundance of good hiking on well-established trails right out of the backyard. We were surprised and thrilled to see so many trails, and the children of course were delighted with the endless exploration possibilities. The town of Gargas is an extremely short drive away, with all the essentials--a restaurant/cafe, fabulous boulangerie, mini grocery store and post office, as well as a farmer's market on Fridays. We were already quite familiar with the area and chose it accordingly, but cannot emphasize enough what a terrific location this home is for relaxing and so central to all the sites and villages of interest. The hosts were gracious and thoughtful, and very prompt with all communication. Everything in the house was well-kept, in order and thoughtful. A gem.

Maison de vacances idéale pour des vacances en famille ou entre amis.La maison est belle et spacieuse, avec 4 chambres (dont une passante) et 3 salles de bain laissant suffisamment d’espace pour la cohabitation entre deux familles. Elle est en outre isolée, au milieu d’une jolie forêt de pins, au bout de centaines de mètres d’un chemin forestier, permettant aux enfants de s’en donner à cœur joie, dans le gigantesque jardin et surtout dans la grande et agréable piscine. L’emplacement est parfait pour découvrir le Luberon et à 15 minutes en voyage d’Apt avec ses commodités et son fantastique marché du samedi matin. Enfin, le propriétaire fait preuve de réactivité.

Une semaine de rêve

Nous étions deux familles avec des enfants, et avons tous adoré notre semaine dans la maison. Elle est au milieu d'une superbe forêt, au calme. Nous avons bien profité de la piscine et du jardin. La maison est très bien située pour rayonner dans le Lubéron, et aussi très agréable pour les moments où le temps est moins clément. Vraiment un bon moment pour nous !

Prachtig huis in een zeer rustige omgeving

Wij hebben hier een zeer aangename tijd met de familie doorgebracht. In het huis is werkelijk alles aanwezig en zeker de tafeltennistafel werd veel gebruikt. Het ligt erg afgelegen en de broodjes moet je echt met de auto halen. Het lig midden in het bos, je kunt zo vanuit huis wandelen en met de mountainbike erop uit. De wilde zwijnen hoor je ‘s avonds knorren. Kortom een geweldig huis, een aanrader

Fantastic stay in Gargas!

We were three Swedish families with children that stayed in the house for a week in July. We had a fantastic vacation, the house is in perfect condition with plenty of space for a big group. The weather was very warm during our stay so we spent many hours in the large and well kept infinity pool. The location of the house is great, just a short walk to Gargas centre with bakery, shop and restaurant. And only a short drive away are the fantastic and famous hill towns of Luberon. Easy to communicate with Pierre before and during our stay, a perfect host! Would love to come back!

We enjoyed every meal outside. We didn't use it, but the kitchen was well equipped for larger groups. Terrific boulangerie in Gargas. Swim, eat, relax, listen to the cicadas, watch the stars. Just perfection. (If you despise ants outdoors- their presence may bother you, but they stayed outside which is all I ask of ants).

Villa Les Fauquieres was quite simply the best property we have stayed in during our numerous family holidays to the South of France! Truly exceeds the description & photographs, as not only is the exterior of the house (the pool, the seating area & the terrace) gorgeous, the interior is so well designed with superb taste & fantastic modern fixtures & fittings. We have never visited the Luberon region before, but I think this has now become my new favourite part of Southern France; amazing views, wonderful hillside towns - simply beautiful. If you're looking for the definition of peace & quiet and need somewhere to relax & recharge - Villa Les Fauquieres is the perfect property for you! This stunning property has been in Pierre's family for over a century. In 2013 he undertook a large scale renovation of the house and added the pool and the terrace. Pierre and his family live in London, they try and get home to Les Fauquieres as often as possible.

What makes this property unique

We love coming home to Les Fauquieres for the sheer pleasure of total rest and relaxation. While there are thousands of beautiful villas in the Luberon, few offer the magical location and ochre richness of Gargas/ Roussillon. It especially wonderful for those who love the outdoors and for those with children who want the freedom to run wild!
