Wonderful cottage
Such a lovely cottage in a wonderful setting. Everything you could ever need in accommodation. We have had a brilliant holiday and will definitely be back
This is a very special holiday cottage and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting an idyllic rural retreat, with access to a pool, tennis court and beautiful country walks. It's also very near to the historic city of Canterbury with all its attractions.
The property was fabulous. Exceptionally clean & comfortable , everything you need for a relaxing stay .Numerous walks from the property too . Definitely go again.

Thank you Kristina, we enjoyed having you all at Stable West, hope to see you here again sometime. Charlie & Lucy
Beautiful property in a lovely setting. Property had everything you could want during your stay. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming leaving chocolate and wine which was most welcome. Although the property is in a countryside setting it is well connected tomajor road network and amenities.
It is a beautifull house with great views. Very gentle owners. A nice tennis court and swimmingpool. We had a great time. It’s very relaxing and comfortabele.
We adore this property and this is our second visit. It was perfect for three adults and a two year old.
Spacious, comfortable and private but hosts Lucy and Charlie, who are very friendly and helpful, are nearby if needed.
Close to Canterbury and numerous other places to visit but in a quiet setting with wonderful views. We love everything and hope to return again.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t warm enough for a dip in the lovely pool - maybe next time.

Thank you Sheila, your comments are much appreciated and we’re so pleased you enjoyed the stay.
The stable conversion is set in a lovely garden with splendid views and was very peaceful, set away from the road through the village.
The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and well equipped.
There is a nice pub within walking distance.
The host was friendly and gave helpful suggestions for walks.
The booking process was very efficient and our questions were answered promptly.
We had a lovely stay.
We stayed at Stable West for the weekend to attend a family wedding.
Communication with the hosts was clear & helpful, answering any queries we had.
The house location & setting was perfect, the listing photos reflect this property accurately.
There were 5 adults in our party & the house accommodated us all well, a bit of organising for the use of the shower was required but this didn’t impact on our stay.
Sky sports on the TV was a bonus on such a busy sporting weekend.
The local farm shop & pub also a bonus.
Overall a place we are happy to recommend.

Thank you very much Susan for your review and we hope to see you again sometime! Charlie & Lucy.
Stable End is a lovely cottage, part of a larger complex in Heddington, near Canterbury, in Kent. It has "Old World" charm with all the added modern conveniences. It's located in a quiet and beautiful part of the country, situated in "The Garden of England."
The wonderful city of Canterbury is just minutes away, with the glorious cathedral awaiting your visit. Grocery stores of all sizes are close by, together with a large variety of small restaurants and pubs.
The rooms at Stable End are quite spacious and three bedrooms can easily accommodate up to six guests.
Hosts Charlie and Lucy made sure someone would be close by, on site, to help with any questions and concerns.
Overall, a wonderful experience, enhanced by beautiful weather. Check it out for yourselves!

Thank you very much for your review, we’re so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again sometime!
A lovely stay in Charlie and Lucy’s spacious, warm and well kitted out cottage. Good communication throughout, easy access and generous touches of wine, chocolates and firewood. Would recommend wholeheartedly.
What a beautiful place to stay! A spacious cottage, nicely decorated and with a big colorful garden. It felt like a little paradise on earth. Close to Canterbury. We enjoyed the daily Evensongs in the Cathedral and the beautiful walks around the little villages such as Chilham.
It is easy to travel from the Nethetlands by car and boat (Ferry Duinkerken-Dover).
Would definitely recommend staying at Stable West, I took my plan for her birthday along with my nearly two year old daughter. The property was lovely, the owners were really friendly and helpful. It was clean, airy, spacious and had everything we needed for a restful break. We will be returning at some point if Charlie and Lucy will have us!
The owners are absolutely wonderful. Very kind, resourceful, full of great ideas, communicative, detailed instructions that are easy to follow. The house is imbeccable,, grounds are beautiful, peaceful and a lovely playgrounds with tennis, walks, and a pool
Communication with Charlie and Lucy was easy and friendly from the get go. The accommodation is so lovely - larger than we had expected and comfortable. It was the perfect spot for my husband and I, plus our dog to wind down and enjoy the local area. Our bed (ground floor) was huge and we slept well. It's so pleasant to have many quiet spots throughout the cottage to sit and read, or look out across the pretty gardens and fields.
The Granville pub is 10 minute walk away, farm shop about 20 mins walk, and Canterbury a 10 min drive. We found plenty of quiet, pretty areas to walk the dog too - all from the house. The Pig (15 mins drive) is also worth a visit.
We would love to revisit, with family next time - as there are 2 extra bedrooms upstairs that we didn't need to use. A shame we didn't use the pool either - I blame the weather....
All in all, one of the nicest rental places I've stayed at, close to many amenities and many beautiful parts of Kent.

Thank you very much for your review Helen, we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay at Stable West and hope to see you here again before too long!
The house was perfect for our family holiday. Everywhere was clean and well looked after. The children loved the pool and tennis courts. Communication with the owner was easy and we were well looked after throughout our stay.
This is the third time we have stayed at this accommodation and yet again we had a lovely relaxing time. The accommodation is clean, spacious, well equipped & beautifully presented.
The property is surrounded by beautiful countryside with lots wildlife to observe. The gardens are a delight & with the addition of the pool this place offers everything right on your doorstep.
We enjoyed great food in 2 local pubs which are within walking distance.
Charlie & Lucy are excellent hosts we hope we can return to this accommodation again in the future.

About the host
Hosted by Charlie & Lucy Markes
We have lived at Heppington for the last 20 years, and our four children have grown up here, enjoying the space and the lovely surroundings. Stable West is part of a large stable block converted into three self-contained houses, and our home is one of these. We feel that Heppington combines the best of both worlds - set in beautiful unspoilt countryside yet within easy reach of Canterbury, London and France.
