About this property
Cosy, very quiet, relaxing retreat, pretty surroundings, idylic. (pet-friendly)
The Barn at Hammas Farm is a Self catering, detached 1 bedroom (king size bed) dwelling, with an en-suite toilet/shower (cubicle) room upstairs and an open plan fully equipped kitchen/diner and lounge downstairs (it has it's own central heating system). The barn comes with its own patio and an enclosed garden next to it both with seating also there are two other seating areas close by.
Set in 10 acres with fields, small woodland for you to walk, tucked away down a long tree lined winding tarmac drive. A pretty stream runs close by. It is a very quiet and peaceful setting ideal for unwinding and relaxing all year round. The barn has its own parking, New Shed containing BBQ & outdoor washing line, 2 x sun-loungers and space to store your bikes with lock.
There is a welcome sheet and instructions for all the appliances close to hand for you. We live in the Farm house which is situated close by if you have any problems and where you collect your key on arrival.
Previous guests have ordered and had delivered their groceries to the barn so if you are short of space in your vehicle this makes life easier. If you are looking for supermarkets we have a Lidl in Torrington along with a range of general shops, gift shops and Panier Market. You will find a Morrison, Tesco, Asda, Aldi in Bideford (12 miles from us).
Sorry we do not have mobile reception here but you do have Free Wi-Fi.
The barn is ideal for star gazers on a clear night, bat watching April to October (please ask) Close to the Tarka Trail (0.5 miles away) for ramblers, cycling and dog walking.
Plenty of dog friendly pubs around and lovely beaches along the north coast (nearest 30mins drive away.)

About the host
Hosted by Mrs Amanda Weller

,,Hello, just a small introduction, we are David and Amanda and we were married in 2008, we have 5 children and 6 grandchildren between us. When the last of them left home (in Hertfordshire) we decided to move to North Devon and start a new life, this is where we found our dream home: We did escape to the countryside! We live in the main house so we are nearby if you need anything (but out of the way if you don't :-)
Why they chose this property
Hammas Farm is set in 10 acres of beautiful countryside. The main house was built around the 18th century although called a farm there are no animals at present (only 3 young cats). Hammas Farm and Barn are tucked away down a tree-lined winding tarmac drive, this is the ideal relaxing place you want to be. Your secluded get away is right here. Surrounded by nature, peace and quiet whether you are a dog walker, hiker, a sightseer or just want some tranquillity.
Hammas Barn is a detached 1 bedroom self contained dwelling with a little stream running close by, your patio and garden area are next to it. Set in a very quiet rural setting (no near neighbours.) Although situated in the depths of the countryside we have easy access to local towns, facilities and the beautiful coast.

What makes this property unique
The Barn is an amazing place to be (with only one holiday-let, there are no other holiday makers, or complex etc here) with wildlife very close, deer, birds and bats, no noise, air or light pollution, to be able to gaze up at a black sky with millions of stars or see a deer sunning itself in the afternoon sun is quite special. Although tucked away in the countryside we have our local pub just a mile away. Great Torrington is only 3 miles away, an old market town with shops, takeaways, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The Plough Art Centre with Theatre, Cinema, Music, Exhibitions, Café and Bar. A Museum. Dartington Crystal, RHS Rosemoor and much more. The Tarka Trail for walks or cycling is just under a mile away. Easy access to Dartmoor, Exmoor, and the North Devon coastline, Westward Ho, Clovelly and Bude to name just a few. Plenty of local history and walks.
