With contemporary décor, pale stone walls, marble floors and gloriously vaulted ceilings, this gorgeous house is quietly secluded in private rural acres, and exudes an air of cool, calm relaxation. A cloistered courtyard at the front of the villa has an almost Moorish feel, with gentle lighting for balmy evenings, highlighting the Masseria’s graceful architecture. A larger courtyard, to the rear, is home to an unusually large private swimming pool, with parasol shade for a poolside seating area, and a pergola furnished for al fresco dining. French doors lead in from here to the living area, where an airy sitting room, all in neutral tones, is open-plan to the dining kitchen, its sleek styling softened by country fabrics.

The Masseria is 10 minutes away from Alimini beach - the best in the area! The large stretch of beach has public areas and areas affiliated with beach clubs such as Balnearea Beach

One of the five double bedrooms is a detached annexe on the other side of the pool. All the other bedrooms are individually accessed from the cloistered courtyard at the front of the villa making it ideal for large families and friends offering a degree of privacy.

Our management company has offices in nearby Martano and offers a concierge service and an emergency line 24/7 if needed and will provide the masseria with a 'welcome pack' for your convenience on arrival.

Chefs are available at your request whom you pay locally.

Great layout for our family

This villa worked great for our family of 9, with the separate bedroom and other rooms arranged around the courtyard. The pool was nice, and everything is secure within the walls so no worries about the kids playing on their own. It is in the middle of nowhere, but a short drive to a couple of towns with restaurants and shopping, and easy day trips to Otranto, Lecce, and numerous beaches.

Idyllic week!

A stunning and immaculate property: stylish, spacious, wonderfully clean and well eqipped and all perfect for our week in August. The aircon was much appreciated and between that and the stunning pool, all was up to scratch! Special thanks to the property concierge who organised some extras for us like a private chef for an evening and a wonderful yacht trip, as well as advising on local amenities. A faultless stay, thank you to Chris and family for having us, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property and would love to visit again.

Great villa for our two families

The villa was fab, very comfortable, very spacious. Kitchen was extremely well equipped. The kids loved the pool and exploring the olive trees. We came in August which is when the whole of Italy also vacation. Hard to get a sunbed on the beach let alone a grain of sand on the beach to ourself! You need to book in advance if you want a sunbed and lunch too. Very relaxing week in a great villa! There were several fires in the area very close to the house. This was quite concerning so we went out to check on them several times as the wind was coming in our direction. We messaged Angelo but he didn’t bother to respond! Couple of suggestions for the villa owner. Basic toiletries like soap and toilet paper should be provided. We were surprised that no cleaner came during our week stay. For the amount we were paying per night, it would have been nice to have someone come in at least once. We had a storm come through one night which was exciting for the kids. Downside was that the outdoor patio is only vines so everything could drenched through. All the outdoor mattresses and pillows soaked. So there was nowhere to sit outside under cover when it’s raining. Certainly the outdoor cushions etc needed a good clean or even a complete change.They are white so you could see all the stains, mould etc.

A lot to like

This is a beautiful property, albeit in the middle of nowhere. The place is very comfortable and spacious. The air conditioning worked well, which was important due to a heat wave of 40 degree C and above. If the pool, is important, which is should be due to heat and the fact that the beach is 30 mins away, make sure the bees have been handled. They were swarming the periphery of the pool the entire time we were there, preventing use of it except at 7 am for an hour or so. So we went to the beach every day, which is fine, but as mentioned was a 30 min car ride away (like everything else) and it cost 20 euro each for a chair. I requested a refund; none was offered. One other complaint has to do with the lack of provisioning - many basic necessities like paper towels or other kitchen supplies were not provided. Some bathrooms didn't have toilet paper, All in all, we had a good stay, but I'm not at all sure I'd rent again.

Great house in a great place!

We really enjoyed the house, the garden and the swimming pool! The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and pleasant to sleep in (great blackout blinds). The kitchen is also well-equipped. We really appreciated the welcome pack, which included several local products!

Fantastic villa set in and amongst olive groves

When we arrived at the Villa we were stunned at how nice it was. The pictures on the HomeAway website doesn’t do it justice. We had an amazing swimming pool, a large open plan kitchen and dining room area, a bbq and a tonne of space in which to lounge and just while away the day and evening Whilst the villa is out in the countryside, it is well located for Otranto and Lecce, with beaches near by (eg. Turchi and Alimini) and also some great places to eat in nearby villages. The villa also comes with a concierge service. This was helpful for finding the villa and also making bookings for restaurants, boat trips etc. This is a great villa for a family holiday with friends and comes highly recommended

A great place to stay

This property certainly is a Contemporary and Luxurious Masseria, totally secluded its ideal for those wanting a quite and private accommodation The rooms are all spacious and well appointed and there is plenty of space in and around the property, so even if there are ten people staying you do not feel that you are on top of each other. A number of our friends who were staying with us were very impressed with the property and are thinking about returning next year. Paola the concierge was extremely helpful in giving us recommendations on places to visit, restaurants etc she also booked Trips, restaurants and anything else we required, and would deal with any problems that might arise. A car is a must for getting around the area, using a taxi is expensive if you don't want to drive. Not many people speak English in the area but nevertheless they are all friendly and helpful and its a great way to improve your Italian! We found most of the tourists in this part of Italy seem to be Italian.

A fabulous Masseria.

Masseria la Palma is beautifully presented, with high quality furnishings and equipment throughout. The outdoor pool area is stunning, with a well designed shaded area under the vines to relax and eat under. We were 2 families, a total of 9 people and all had a very relaxing week's holiday due to the remoteness of the property - not having to worry about kids making lots of noise! Maria the concierge was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We did feel there could be more local information available at the villa, we found it hard to find grocery shops etc. Maria recommended a beautiful quiet cove with restuarant (La Dolce Riva) and Agriturismo Tenuta Sant'Emiliano near Otranto was lovely for dinner on our last evening.

What makes this property unique

Frassanito, Alumini, Bay of Turks beaches are 10 minutes by car where you will find some of the cleanest clearest waters in the Mediterranean with miles of white sand and the backdrop of lush pine forests.

It is 3 minutes from the village of Carpignano Salentino which has many amenities including a pharmacy, bakers, butchers and local vegetables for sale.

It is 40 minutes from Lecce which is known as the Florence of the south.
It is very near a local hospital and Lecce has one of the largest top hospitals in Italy.

There are numerous restaurants within easy access which offer a variety of food including local cuisine, but if you wish to cook at home you can purchase local fresh food daily, including meat and fish.
