About this property
Beautiful converted croft house with stunning views
West Cottage was built around 1870 as a typical croft house with a byre beside it but gradually deteriorated during the 1990s until it was in danger of becoming derelict. In 2007 the old cottage was stripped back to the stone shell; it was re-roofed and completely refurbished to a very high standard and a large living-room was built on the end of the old house on the site of the former byre. The cottage offers comfortable accommodation over 2 floors. The living room, kitchen/dining and double bedroom with en-suite shower are on the ground floor with a further double bedroom, twin room and bathroom upstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The living room has well-stocked book shelves, a wood burning stove and a colour TV. There is wifi throughout the house.

Helen's cottage was perfect. Lots of charm, fully-furnished and well-equipped, and an amazing sea view - complete with an ancient castle in the foreground.Helen was a fabulous host, very responsive, and her information was detailed and very much appreciated, with things to see and do in the area, restaurants, hiking trails, the works. If we come back to Skye we hope to stay there again!
Wonderful location and cottage! The view is breathtaking and this part of Skye is tranquil. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it to others.
We had a wonderful stay. I couldn't have asked for more. The views are breathtaking, the location is close to the ferry, all in all a memorable experience on Skye. Thank you, Helen for a pleasant stay.
Helen, the Host, emailed me and I felt confident that everything would be in order when we arrived. And it was. We entered the house and immediatley felt at home. We spent 4 nights on Skye and it was lovely to come back to this cosy, clean, well equipped house each evening. Thank you. Geraldine and David
This house is well appointed and very comfortable. The views are fabulous. The hosts (Helen and Frank) were very helpful and provided excellent instructions and service.
We loved staying in this property. The history of the croft along with very comfortable accommodations and unparalleled surroundings made this an unforgettable stay.
The exterior of the home screams old world! It looks so perfect and then you enter and step into a well appointed and finished interior. Helen and Donald did a great job!!The location is a 30 minute walk to town, 30 minute drive to Inverness or Fort Augustus. A great location!!
We loved our stay here, we were comfortable and happy here even when a terrible storm meant we lost power! The view is just stunning and the location so peaceful. Our time in the rental was an absolute highlight of our trip to Scotland and it was hard to leave!
Helen and the croft cottage was simply amazing! The location was perfect, and the view from the living room was STUNNING.
We would absolutely stay here again.

We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The house was perfect. The hosts were wonderful. The views were lovely. If this place is available, reserve it. You will not regret it.
We had the best stay in Helen's home. It is very comfortable, cosy, warm and the views - well they are spectacular. The kitchen is very well stocked. We explored all over Skye and then found that Knock Castle and Torabhaig distillery were on our doorstep. Highly recommend this home, we would love go back.
We had a great stay! The pictures don't do the place justice, especially the view from the living room is spectacular. The kitchen was equipped with everything one might need and everything was spotless. The rooms are cozy and the showers hot with good water pressure.Check in was easy and the communication with Helen as well. All in all a great stay and we hope to come again!
