Such a well thought out, well equipped property, having further seating areas with a view. Within very short walking distance to the shore and the excellent Sail Loft for great food and drinks.Perfect location, especially with our dogs. We were very lucky with glorious weather to enjoy such a beautiful area.
This is a beautifully positioned property, sea to the front, reed marshes and countryside to the rear. The lodge has been wonderfully refurbished and extended. Everything you could possibly need is catered for; beautiful, comfortable furnishings and spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend to anyone, but don't book all the weeks up - we would love to return again and again. Many thanks to our hosts Ben and Caroline.
Sandy Lodge was a perfect stay for us and our besties. Perfectly located between the town and harbour, we had no need to move the cars after our arrival. The house is quirky, bright, airy and sun- filled. The lovely garden with two places to sit has wonderful views across the matshes to the common and Southwold. The beds were really comfortable and the house was spotlessly clean. One note ( and this is fussiness - lined curtains would be great in the bedrooms as we were woken early by the bright sunshine (world’s smallest violin in operation!) and nicer pillows. Otherwise perfect and we would certainly stay again. Thank you.
This property was perfect for our family group of three. Location was excellent, right by the sea, river and short walk to centre of Southwold. Great for some winter time walks, many to choose from and everything you need in the small town centre. Everything was clean and comfortable, good heating for winter time stay. Plenty of space. We had a lovely week here.
We loved the house, so stylish and full of light. The bed was extremely comfortable and the views are spectacular.
Communication with Ben was very easy and check in etc.. a piece of cake.
I would love to see Southwold and and house in Summer, so will be back.
Lovely property in an ideal location. Well equipped and really comfortable for a relaxing stay. Fantastic views both back and front. For sure will book again.
What a lovely property this is, it’s quirky, quite unique and in a superb location. The weather for early November was fine so we could use the outdoor space; it was nice to have comfortable cushions provided for the outdoor furniture, and the outdoor lighting made it feel cozy and fun. With the beach directly opposite our little dog was in heaven. We spent many hours walking, and the amenities of the small town are on your doorstep too. I would recommend this property. It provided everything we needed and we had a brilliant time.
This was our second time staying here. The house is great and the location even better. Once again we had a great stay and wont hesitate to book back again
Bright & clean & everything needed for a comfortable relaxing stay. Good situation near to Southwold, the sea to the front over the sand dunes & peaceful views across grassland with
deer & wildlife.
Beautiful, spacious property with sea and marsh views stretching across to the harbour. Lots of space inside to spend time together or to relax on own. Super-convenient for the beach, town, or wherever you want to go in Southwold, all within easy walking distance.
8 mins walk to centre of Southwold. Perfect location for walking and dog lovers. Dog friendly beach direct access. Superb responsiveness from owner on a couple of queries during our stay. Weather perfect. We are delighted we picked this seaside home. All amenities available.
Beautiful property with lots of space. Close to beach and town facilities. Lots of nice pubs, coffee shops and quirky shops in town. Property is spacious , clean, well presented and comfortable. Nice touch of a bottle of wine on arrival. Might be an idea to bring a torch to help navigate the road or back path back to town on a dark evening. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Perfect location with peaceful Marsh views from the rear, luckily we enjoyed excellent weather. The house is full of character and stylishly furnished. However the standard of cleaning was very hit and miss. Both bathrooms were cleaned up to standard but the kitchen was another story. Dirty crockery and the baking trays are only fit for the bin. The beams and overhead fan were thick with dust. One mattress cover appeared to be blood stained.
The deck outside the front door has a damaged plank which urgently needs replacing. Possibly an accident waiting to happen.
Despite the negatives we enjoyed the weekend but would not return due to the issues mentioned above.

great location but needs some care
Fab location right near the dunes and beach. You can walk into town easily and it's a lovely part of the world.
However in the main bedroom, the double bed was terrible and the mattress urgently needs replacing.
I have also never stayed in a self-catering place (in the UK at leas) that does not even provide e.g. salt and pepper, maybe some cooking oil (there was literally NOTHING). Not only that but doing that ridiculous being really stingy with the loo roll etc thing. I booked and paid for 4 nights for 4 people and we were allocated one loo roll and 2 dishwasher tablets! This is NOT what self catering means. And by the way the dishwasher is half size and pretty rubbish so yeah not great for when there are 4 of you actually trying to cook a meal.
Very comfortable property, lovely decor internally. Excellent location for beach, harbour and town with lots of lovely places to eat and drink. Very thoughtful welcome bag from hosts and really helpful clear guidance about the property and what to do when re domestic issues (bins, recycling etc). We’ve stayed here before and would definitely stay again.
