About Niccolò Pucci
CIAO, thank you for checking out my listing. I’m Niccolò, I was born and grew up in Florence and I still live in this wonderful city. I’m an architect and since years, I manage holiday villas-apartments in Florence town and in the hills around. What I like? Horses, Nature, Hiking, Trail Running, Cooking… and I love to interact with new people from different parts of the world. My family owns the Villa Cafaggiolo estate since almost 50 years; it took a long time and a hard work to transform and old farmhouse (abandoned in the sixties) into an amazing, comfortable villa as it is now. We began this business of renting our apartments in Villa Cafaggiolo, in 1998… so we are hosting and meeting people for all over the world, since 20 years now! We’ve got 195 EXCELLENT REVIEWS; 100% travelers recommend!!! Please, check! We hope to meeting you too, very soon. You can call or email me anytime with questions or for recommendations; I’m available for information regarding restaurants, museums, shops, tours and anything else that you may need to make your stay more enjoyable. I’ll do my best to let you spend a fantastic time here!!! Best, Niccolò and the Pucci’s ................................................................ """Niccolò is a great host and we felt like staying with our friends. He was very helpful with taking care of everyone and making sure we were comfortable. He’s a fine example of the hospitality of the Italian Culture... He has an invaluable wealth of knowledge of the area, and during our stay, he suggested we visit small towns in special occasions which made our stay all the more enjoyable"" Laura
Niccolò Pucci purchased this Villa in 1971
Why Niccolò Pucci chose Rignano
"" I have stayed at Villa Cafaggiolo several times in the past 4 years. It is a beautiful property, perfectly situated on a commuter train line 20 minutes East of Florence. The property itself is very picturesque with all of the buildings done in Tuscan farm style. There is a lovely swimming pool and a rose garden. But what makes the experience of visiting Cafaggiolo so memorable is the warmth and friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, the Pucci family. They are always ready with a recommendation of where to eat, what to see, where to get the best gelato in Florence, etc. They truly treat the guests as if they are family, and many guests are repeat customers. They love what they do, and it shows. They are the perfect innkeepers!"" Lisa
What makes this Villa unique
"" We were very happy with the Villa Cafaggiolo on a week's family holiday. I had searched through a of lovely looking villa's in Tuscany but was delighted with the end choice! We had a very warm welcome from Paola and we instantly hit it off. Paola and Niccolo were very helpful suggesting local hot spots and where to go. The villa is very well kept and in a very quiet little spot but close enough to the nearby towns for food, restaurants. We felt like we had the place completely to ourselves and enjoyed relaxing by the pool. I loved waking up to singing birds..."" Jennifer

Niccolò and Barbara are great!
We really enjoyed our time at the villa. We arranged a cooking class with Barbara for our first night and the food was amazing. Barbara is so wonderful! We also booked two tours with Niccolò and he was always very helpful. The views around the property are stunning. If you are looking for a relaxing het away this is the place! I'm already thinking about bringing my mom here the next time I visit Italy.
Idyllic Location for a Tuscan Vacation
Our stay at this beautiful, rustic villa was absolutely wonderful! The scenery is breathtaking, matched only by the Pucci family's exceptional hospitality. Niccolo stayed in constant contact to address all of our questions before and during our stay. We especially enjoyed the pasta cooking class and Tuscan dinner as well as the Chianti and Siena tours. Niccolo is a wonderful tour guide and traveling companion and Barbara is an amazing cook, hostess, and teacher.
We were looking for a relaxing atmosphere with easy access to Florence and all that Tuscany has to offer and Rignano sull' Arno did not disappoint. Florence is an easy train ride from nearby Pontassieve and afforded us the opportunity to take in that great city during the day and then end the day relaxing by the villa's pool in the quiet and serenity of the Tuscan country side. There is no shortage of great food nearby, but we also enjoyed preparing a few meals in our apartment's quaint, yet well equipped, kitchen.
If you are looking for a unique and authentic Tuscan experience, then we highly recommend Rignano sull'Arno. Let the Pucci's show you true Tuscan hospitality and enjoy the wonders of Tuscany and Florence.
Great hosts and great experience
Our family had a wonderful time staying in this villa and Niccoló, Barbara, and family were such wonderful hosts. The dinner and cooking lessons we had were great experiences for our family and children and was also great food! We highly recommend staying here! Thank you so much for taking care of our family!
Perfect for a Family of Four
We almost didn't book until we saw that there were over 140 other awesome reviews on another travel site. We're really happy we booked. The house was perfect and Niccolo and his family are so nice and so attentive. Barbara made dinner for us the first night and it was a great way to end a full day of travel. It's a short train ride from Florence which is great because it's nice and quiet with the exception of the birds in the trees...which I liked. Just relaxing. Washing machine, wifi downstairs, 2 bathrooms and AC in each bedroom made it a very comfortable stay. Thanks Niccolo. We'd love to come back on our next trip to Italy!
fantastic house with wonderful host
It is a very calm and relaxing place, we enjoyed our stay a lot, the pool, the hill and the apartment, all in all are what we needed for a fine vacation. It is not too far from all wonderful towns such as Siena, Lucca, Pisa, Montalcino...etc
Paola and Niccolò are wonderfully friendly, this is the first time we visited Toscany, and we got a lot of information from them. The places they recommended for us to visit are beautiful.
thanks a lot for the GREAT review and for the wonderful words you wrote about us and the Villa.
Happy to know that you had a good time here and that you loved Tuscany.
It has been a real pleasure meeting you and we hope to see you again...
All the best,
Paola and Niccolò

• Villa Cafaggiolo is very close to Florence... only 12 km South-East, means 15/20 minutes by car.
A large and comfortable road will lead you from the bustle of the City to the tranquillity of the Florentine hills. You’ll drive in the Chianti area, through the countryside, along the Arno river; left and right you’ll spot castles, farmhouses, old churches, vineyards olive groves… all the features of Tuscany landscape.
• Access to Villa Cafaggiolo is by a private road. You will never hear the sounds of traffic (day or night) during your stay. The Villa is immersed in silence; our guests love falling asleep to the sounds of nature. This location is ideal for those wishing to visit Florence and all its glories, while at the same time experiencing the quiet and tranquility of a rural setting away from the noise of the city.
• The small village of Rosano is 1 Km from the Villa Cafaggiolo.
Here you’ll find the famous “Bottega di Rosano”… a grocery plenty of delicious food (cold meats, cheeses, olives, bread) and good wines…; you can get a quick panino (sandwich) or have a sit down meal with bistecca alla fiorentina. From the Villa, you can easily walk up to here in about 10/15 minutes.
Rosano is also famous for the Benedictine abbey of Santa Maria situated in a beautiful landscape of olive trees and vineyards. You can visit this millenary monastery, the church and the suggestive crypt. On Sunday morning at 10:00 am it is scheduled the Holy Mass in Latin, with Gregorian chants. If you are catholic… you cannot miss!!!
• The quite big village of Pontassieve is 2 Km from the Villa.
It is an attractive medieval town where you will find any kind of shops, supermarkets, banks, several very good restaurants and a shopping center.
In Pontassieve there is a rail station; there is frequent train service to the center of Florence. The train takes about 20 minutes and is an easy way to travel for those who do not wish to take their car into the city. It is easy to park at the rail station.
