Beautifully appointed home! It is clean and spacious. Nice lot with parking for two vehicles. Plenty of room for my four adult guests and me. We loved the open floor plan and three full baths. The owner thought of everything -- fully stocked kitchen, linens and bath supplies, coffeemaker AND Keurig, charging stations, and bedside fans. She thought of everything! Would return; highly recommend the home.

Just a point of clarification for anyone reading this review - there is parking for 2 cars directly in front of the house, but there is access to the back part of our property that has plenty of over flow parking and is only steps across the backyard to our home. There are directions on how to park on our back lot in the binder in the entry way welcome area (or message me for more details)! :)

My sisters and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Martha’s Vineyard property. The home is peaceful, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared, making it the perfect place to unwind during our week on the island. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and the care in setting up the space truly made our visit feel effortles. It created such a relaxing atmosphere after days spent exploring the Vineyard. Our stay at Dot's House was great! We have stayed at several different homes over the past few years, and this was by far the cleanest and best stocked. It was also extremely easy to communicate with Liz, and not having to strip the beds or do major loads laundry before leaving was an added bonus.We hope to be back again next summer!

Spacious and cozy

This was a great place that was close enough to the town center, but tucked away so that we could retreat at night. There were multiple adults in the house and we were able to each find our space to work, eat, relax on the days we stayed in.

The home was beautiful and in pristine condition. It had everything one would need for a family beach vacation. It is a 10-15 minute walk to Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs and a 5 minute car ride. The house had towels (for the bathroom and the beach), bedding, beach chairs, and board games. The wifi worked. The air conditioning ran smoothly. I would highly recommend this rental.

The best rental property in Oak Bluffs!

It’s always a pleasure to stay in this beautiful home with modern amenities and a short walk or ride to town. The convenience of bikes, fishing poles, beach gear and towels, and laundry service make this such a breeze. The owners are extremely accommodating to any requests and maintain the place in pristine condition. O can’t recommend it more highly!

Magnificent time as always and property was great. Adults only this trip and there was a preference for having a different set up in the room with 3 beds. Also one attendee mentioned that queen bed upstairs was not as firm as desired (not the master suite). But overall a "5" on our stay

Wonderful house!

We had an amazing stay at Dot’s house - it was so clean and comfortable and had so many nice touches for those with kids! There were books, beach toys, and kid plates, cups etc that were especially appreciated. The screened in porch was delightful for sitting in the evenings. We loved all of the host’s tips and with the shortcut path found it to be a quick walk into town. We hold love to stay here again!

Great MV July 4th week

We stayed for our second time with Liz at Dot’s house and found it to be an excellent vacation destination. It is remote and quite for a backyard barbecue, but walking distance to downtown Oak Bluffs. The house is very well kept and we appreciate Liz’s quick responses to a couple of questions. We are (eagerly ) looking forward to another trip to Dot’s house in 2025!

We are a family of four who love the island more than anything in the world. I was raised as a year round resident of the island, but am raising my family in the Boston area. We split our time between Boston and the Island and are thrilled to have built a home for our friends, family, and guests!

Why they chose this property

The land on which this home was built was purchased in 1966 by Dorothy House, the great-grandmother of the current homeowner. Dorothy was an Oak Bluffs businesswoman who owned Dot’s Restaurant (now the Mad Martha’s location) and later Dot’s Snacks (now the Edgartown National Bank branch next to the Flying Horses). She lived for many years in a Gingerbread cottage at the end of Circuit Ave (now Cousin Rose Art Gallery). Her great-granddaughter remembers her fondly and is thrilled to have had the opportunity to turn the land purchased a half-century ago into a home shared by friends and family. In her memory, we have named this home Dot’s House.

What makes this property unique

This home has all the modern conveniences one would want in a vacation rental, while still honoring the charm of victorian architecture. We built this home with multiple groups in mind, which means there is plenty of room for everyone to be together, while still having private bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms for everyone's enjoyment and relaxation.

The home is in the perfect location: You can walk or bike to town and enjoy the hustle and bustle of OB, but return to the serenity of this home, which is nestled on a quiet street. The screened in porch provides a quiet enjoyment into the evening.
