Shepherd's Crook is a beautiful cottage situated in the village of Grasmere, Lake District. Hosting bedrooms; one second floor doubles, two second floor (zip/link) one with en-suite shower room, and a first floor double, along with a second floor bathroom, this property can sleep up to eight people. Inside you will also find a first floor cloakroom, first floor kitchen/diner, and a sitting room with an electric woodburner. Parking permit available for one car and Roadside parking available and a public car park over the road. Located in an inspiring destination with much to explore close by, Shepherd's Crook is a wonderful retreat in a memorable part of England.

Town: in the village of Grasmere there are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century and Grasmere Lake, plus Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland Wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District.

Fabulous place
This property was fabulous, couldn’t fault it. It was bigger than I was expecting and it was so lovely and comfortable. It was a great location for exploring the Lake District.

Shepherds Crook
A great property right in the centre of Grasmere, near good pubs. Beautifully decorated and furnished with good bathroom facilities and plenty of hot water. Be aware there are lots of stairs. The downside is no parking making unloading and loading cars difficult. Also check out is extremely early at 9:30 and we were still being asked to strip the beds ourselves and be out early, which wasn’t great and there was no sign of the bags they wanted bedding put in. We felt this was a hangover from Covid and not necessary now.

Enchanting stay in Grasmere.
The property was very enjoyable. There were 5 of us. We were a couple with two adult children and an elderly mother. The centralized location of the cottage was ideal. Unfortunately, the mattress in the first bedroom (the double bed) was very uncomfortable. It seemed to have springs nearly poking through in several spots making it nearly unusable. The other mattresses were very comfy.
