Seawall Escape @ Victorian Condos
Enjoy this newly renovated condo at the Victorian. Not all units at this complex are the same - in fact ALL are privately owned, some are "rental pool" units now or were in the past - this one is TRULY SPECIAL! From the wood headboard in the bedroom to the full sized refrgerator/freezer!
My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups (because we manage quite a few condos at the same complex - only 6 can fit in this exact condo).
The Victorian complex is located on Seawall Boulevard across from Babe’s Beach on Galveston’s Seawall – protected by traffic signals at both corners so you can safely walk across to the beach. There’s a huge big box store that starts with a W next door for all your shopping needs, and eateries in walking distance for sandwiches and BBQ.
You will have exclusive use of the entire condo-and share the pools,hot tubs,fitness center,tennis court and grounds including BBQ pergolas,fish cleaning station and a multitude of outdoor spaces with other guests and residents of the Victorian condominium complex.The complex has 2 pool,one of which is heated in the seasons when God does not do this for us.There are two hot tubs,a fitness center and picnic/BBQ areas. There are also 2 hot tubs,a tennis court,and BBQ grills and picnic areas sprinkled around the complex.
Remember that all people are considered people regardless of age or size or how they “usually” sleep.Occupancy rules are set by the owners in combination with the fire department and the owners Association.Thank you for recognizing that even infants count in the occupancy (though we don’t count pregnant women twice.)
We provide starter supplies prior to each guest’s arrival which include paper towels,toilet paper,soap,shampoo,conditioner,dish cleaning options, trash bag and starter supplies of coffee. These are intended to get you started–figure out which shopping option works best for your group,and make that first grocery run.Nothing worse than running in from the car and not being able to use the restroom,or waking that first morning with no coffee!These likely won’t last your group the duration of your stay–but they will get you on your way!
All beds are made with fresh linens prior to your arrival so if you arrive late,you don’t need to make the beds–or bring your own sheets,or rent them from a local vendor.We provide one bath,wash and hand towel for each guest the home sleeps (10).
We do not provide beach towels–we used to–but they tended to go home with our guests–we do have customized beach towels available for rent during your stay. For this unit the cost is $35 for the duration of your stay.We will need to have a credit card in the event any of them go home with you and the replacement cost is $25.00 per towel.
While there is a broom/dustpan, mop/bucket–we do not expect you to clean before you leave. In fact,we don’t even ask that you strip the beds.We ask only that you remove any food from the home and refrigerator,leave notes for future guests about the treasures you found in restaurants,souvenir shops,or excursions while on the island,call us to make your next reservation,and lock the door behind you. If you spend any time at the beach,we would only say it’s nice to use the outdoor showers by the pool, and shake off your towels before returning into the home and if you happen to bring in a bunch of sand,if you would sweep that up it would be great.Lots of sand can make for a slippery floor throughout the home–safety first! After making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address,the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay,and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.3-5 days prior to your scheduled arrival–we will email you directly (the guest who made the reservation and provided their email address) with driving directions and check-in instructions. We will then call 24-48 hours later to ensure you received it,verify we provided the correct code to the home,and answer any last minute questions you may have. We are available at any time to assist you or answer questions–but we like to tell you in advance so you don’t think it’s a scam when someone asks you to verify the code. In general–we leave our guests “alone” to enjoy their stay–however–please don’t think that is because we don’t want to help you–we do!
We kindly request that you follow our HVAC professionals recommendations: • Please do not change the system more than 3 degrees per hour. • Please do not set the AC below 70 degrees in summer, or above 74 in winter. • Keep the fan setting on auto. • If/when doors or windows are open – please do not run the system. • There should not be more than a total of a 20 degree differential between outside and inside temperatures to keep excessive stress off of the system.
You certainly COULD stay here without a car-you can walk to shopping,eateries and the beach,there is public transportation nearby,and there are several local and nationally "branded" taxi services as well as ride share (Uber, Lyft) programs in place as well as meal deliveries (UberEats,and DoorDash available as well.
The Victorian condominium complex–like almost every condominium complex and hotel in Galveston, charges a parking/resort/amenity fee. This is not a charge from My Galveston Getaway and is paid directly to the complex upon your arrival.They will issue a parking permit and may issue wristbands that identify guests who are authorized at the complex.They will also provide guests with the codes for the gates to enter the property -both drive-through and walk through,pools,hot tubs,fitness center and the WiFi code which is changed monthly. It is a complex-wide WiFi system. The charge is $40 + tax and includes up to 2 parking permits. This is for stays that are up to 7 consecutive nights in duration.For stays of 8-31 days it is $80 + tax,and for extended stays it is $80 + tax per month.We are unable to collect this in advance and pay it to the Victorian on your behalf.We don’t get to make the rules, we just play by them!
There are several pay-per-use laundry facilities at the Victorian,these accept credit and debit cards as methods of payment.There is not a washer/dryer inside of the condo.
Many of our owners have switched out to “Smart” TV’s – so bring your login information with you to sign in to your own subscription services, and don’t forget to log-out before leaving.
The Victorian complex does not allow renters to have a pet – so if you travel with Fido or Fifi – please check out the other My Galveston Getaway managed properties that ARE dog friendly. While true service animals are an exception – you very well may be asked by the complex to provide the verification. For short term rental/vacation purposes – emotional support animals are not considered true support animals and we are unable to make exceptions to a rule that is in place and enforced by a complex in which we manage condos. Kindly be respectful.
All properties managed by My Galveston Getaway are 100% non-smoking/non-vaping properties.
Galveston is a barrier island located in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is susceptible to rainstorms, thunderstorms and even a hurricane now and then. Sometimes these result in temporary power and WiFi outages. We strongly encourage our renters to consider purchasing trip interruption/cancellation protection either through the platform that you book through or some other source. My Galveston Getaway issues refunds if a governmental official issues a mandatory evacuation of the island. Unfortunately we are unable to control sunshine, temperatures and mosquitos and do not refund other than pursuant to our policy based on evacuation orders. Thank you for understanding.
Again – the parking/resort/amenities/facilities fee is one charged by the condominium complex, not by the owner of the condo or My Galveston Getaway and we appreciate your understanding.
Elevators on the gulf coast, especially this close to the beach, are more susceptible than others to malfunction due to the moisture,humidity and salt air.Thank you for understanding that we at My Galveston Getaway have no control over the functionality of elevators.Any time we become aware of an elevator outage we ensure that the complex is aware,and request an ETA for it's repair, and we will share that information with our guests when asked about it. It helps when guests do not (and do not allow their children to) play in elevators, push more buttons than necessary, or hold the doors open for others in any way.

We had so much fun staying here being so close to the sea we could run back and forth with no issue
Overall it suited my needs.Cathie was helpful not only through the booking process, but provided concierge services in helping me narrow down a nice place to eat in a strang town, that now, will probably become my home.

We stayed here for a couple nights before leaving for a cruise. The condo unit itself was clean, and had all the things we needed for a comfortable stay. Additionally, it is located near the beach, restaurants, shopping … and when you factor in the onsite pools and hot tubs, this was a perfect location for us.

The room was just as in the pictures straight off the beach and quick access to many restaurants! It was a wonderful weekend retreat and we are looking to stay again!
My partner wanted to do some fishing, and I wanted some downtime. This place is perfect for that! He spent time looking for redfish. I ambled along the Seawall. The location was ideal, and the whole process very user friendly. Great place to stay!

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes - this condo is towards the rear or "quiet" side of the complex - while the views are better the closer to Seawall, the noise level is lower. Unfortunately while your comments say "still give it a 5" it only gave us 4 stars. The best laid plans.......
Place was a good location. Thank you for sharing your place. We enjoyed our visit and made more fun memories.Other reviews are still accurate about tub and such.Did not like that Vrbo did payment in 2 payments or that there was no free cancellation until a certain date. Lesson learned.. Next time I will find a place earlier.
Location was perfect. Walked to beach, nice view, lots of action outside but condo was quiet and clean. A/C worked great. Shower stayed hot. Dishes towels, and wagon provided were helpful! We would definitely come back and stay in exact spot

This unit could use some maintenance and updating. Overall not sparkling clean. Floors and balcony doors were dirty. A kuerig would be a great addition. All the basic amenities were available.

My grandkids enjoy the beach, it is just across de street! so when they were tired we promptly go back for a snap. Also they have a wonderful time with their parents and us at the pool. And there was no problem with the meals because there are so many restaurants around to pick up your favorite. We also enjoy the movies and the games at night. The house was outdated. The toilet seat is unacceptable. The Surface Burner Coil Unit did not sit correctly. I must reseat it multiple times to
make it work. These bath towels are dirty, and the primary bedroom smells terrible. One of the positive things about this house is that it is close to Walmart and the beach.
This was such a nice place. Security was on point. Walk to the beach was short and sweet, just across the road from the Victorian. WalMart is right beside it so if you forgot something or get burnt like I did you don't have to go far to get anything you need. Everything is really just a hop skip and jump away. The girls and I had an awesome day at the beach. There is rental chair people there so you really dont have to bring any if you don't want. They are kind of pricey though. There were people walking up and down the beach with food and gifts like speakers and such. The pool at the victorian was pretty and blue. They should think about extending the times of the pool though because people like to spend the day at the beach and night at the pool. Other than that we had a great trip and are planning another trip soon. Thank you for everything and letting us be a part of the community of the victorian.
