About this property

Cottage with shared pool, fast internet,lawn tennis near the beach. Dogs welcome

La Fontaine is the most recent addition to the La Bourdonnerie cottages. Set within the grounds but apart from the other gites – it features its own large and secluded private lawned garden with swings and a dog safe fenced courtyard with ample parking via it’s own driveway. Cross the stream, over the bridge, and you are in the main communal gardens.

La Fontaine has all the comforts of home including log burner, fully equipped farmhouse kitchen, sitting room, 2 bedrooms and shower and family bathroom. Sleeping arrangements are twin room, double room with adjacent dressing room with single bed (suitable for 3rd child).

Ideally situated in a village served by its own shop within 5 minutes walk, 5 minutes drive from all shops and conveniences in nearby La Haye du Puits and Lessay and 10 minutes drive from white sandy beaches.

Your dogs will enjoy the enclosed terrace, and also the 3 hectares of gardens and playing fields. On site you will find a communal heated outdoor swimming pool, lawn tennis court (both open June - September), table tennis table, swings and trampoline...along with goats, cats, ducks and chickens to entertain the children and adults alike.

40 minutes from Utah Beach and second world war memorials, and 45 minutes from Cherbourg and Citi de la Mer.

La Bourdonnerie is a 300 year old Farm on the West coast of the Normandy peninsular, which has over the years been converted with lots of care and attention to detail into cosy holiday homes.

The farm consists of the main stone farmhouse and 4 self-catering holiday cottages, or ‘Gites’ as they are called here in France. The cottages have been converted from the natural stone barns and cider press that formed the original farms buildings, and each has its own unique character and style.

Based on site we're here to help if you need us... we speak French, English and German and look forward to welcome you on the farm..

There are a wealth of activities for everyone within our local area, in addition to attractions a little further afield such as day trips to the Channel Islands or Mont St Michel. We are based in the Cotentin & Bessin Nature Reserves where you can explore the beautiful and largely unspoiled countryside by clearly marked cycling, mountain biking, hiking, horseriding, and walking nature trails – many of which are car free.

La Fontaine

We would like to say a big thank you to Dave and Jenefer on our stay in La Fontaine. From the welcome cheese, champagne and biscuits on arrival to always checking if we needed anything...nothing was too much trouble. The cottage and location were perfect with the beach and many attractions in close proximity. The boys were kept entertained with the trampoline, pool and, tennis courts and lots of outdoor space. Thanks for a lovely stay... The Barlow family.

Sehr schönes Haus

Wir waren mit 2 Hunden vor Ort, ein sehr schönes Haus mit eingezäuntem Grundstück. Als Begrüßung fanden wir Käse, Baguette und Wein vor, eine sehr nette Geste. Das Haus ist sauber und nett eingerichtet. Zum Kochen und Grillen waren sämtliche Utensilien vor Ort, selbst Spielsachen, Bücher.... Die Lage des Hauses war auch perfekt für Ausflüge. Ein Pool war auch vorhanden. Insgesamt ein schöner, entspannter Urlaub auf einem gepflegten Anwesen.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus, nette und sympathische Vermieter und ein Traumanwesen

Wir haben unseren Osterurlaub in Vesly verbracht und es war einfach nur wunderschön. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit, als kleine Überraschung warteten bei unserer Ankunft Schokoosterhasen, Baquette und Wein auf uns. Das Haus war urgemütlich und es fehlte uns an nichts. Unser Hund konnte durch das sicher eingezäunte Grundstück nicht abhauen, während die Kinder ihren Spaß auf dem Trampolin und mit der Tischtennisplatte hatten. In der näheren Umgebung gab es viele Traumstrände für erholsame Spaziergänge und eine ausgiebige Entdeckungstour. Es war ein toller Urlaub und wir kommen mit Sicherheit wieder.

Maison familiale idéale pour visiter le Cotentin

L'accueil de Dave et Jenny a été formidable. La maison est confortable et dispose d'un grand jardin très agréable. Elles est située sur la côte Est, mais les distances pour aller visiter les plages du débarquement sur la côte ouest restent très raisonnables. Donc très bon compromis pour découvrir les paysages de bocages et très belles plages aux environs (nous avons beaucoup aimé les dunes de Cérences). On recommande !

Super semaine à Vesly au gîte La Fontaine

Très bon accueil des propriétaires David et Jennefer. Petites attentions à notre arrivée (baguette, bouteille de vin et paquet de très bons gâteaux). Gîte très propres et très confortables, très bien équipé et très cocooning. Endroit enchanteur avec ses poules, chèvres, terrain de tennis et grande piscine. David nous a proposé une sortie en mer mais nous n’avons malheureusement pas pu y aller. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés. Encore un grand merci et sûrement à bientôt. Émilie et sa famille.

We are Jenefer & Dave Smith, and as the owners of La Bourdonnerie we’re here to make your stay in Normandy extra special. After living in London for a long time, in 2010 we decided to move to Normandy and after months of searching finally found the perfect location to launch a business. We’re both fans of fresh air, peace & quiet and open spaces, which meant when we found La Bourdonnerie, we knew immediately this was ‘the one’. We live here all year round in the main ‘farmhouse’, and so we’re always available should you need our help or advice.

In addition to our native english, we both speak excellent french and Dave also speaks german. We’re on hand in the event of any emergencies, be that sorting flat car tyres to trips to the vets.

In the few years we’ve been here we’ve done a lot of the tourist attractions, eaten in most of the restaurants and walked the majority of the beaches, so please do ask for tips and advice if you feel the need. We’re here to help, and look forward to meeting you at La Bourdonnerie.
