Within 5 minutes walk to the Obidos Lagoon and 10 minutes walk to the Atlantic Ocean, Casa Marcelo with a 1st floor 5 en-suit rooms with balconies and stunning views, ground floor large open lounge and kitchen, terrace and a 32m2 swimming pool with beautiful surrounding gardens. A BBQ with direct access from the Kitchen and a fire pit just outside the lounge makes the perfect set for a romantic or a family evening. A small private gym to burn the calories from the evening before and fruit trees all around the property makes the perfect relaxing holiday place.

Our stay was very relaxing. It has a well equipped kitchen and plenty of space to relax both inside and out .The property is located in a quiet residential area within easy reach of the lagoon and lovely traditional restaurants. The grilled shrimp in whiskey and garlic were heaven. We were travelling with friends on a golfing trip. West Cliffs and Royal Obidos golf courses are with 5 minutes drive of the property and Praia Del Ray is about 15 minutes. All 3 golf courses offer challenges for all golf skills and breathtaking coastal views.The property was the perfect location for us and we had a rental car although there are Uber and a local taxi service available. Nazare, Peniche and the walled town of Obidos are all worth a visit and within easy reach by car.The area had some devastating storms in late January and into February bringing down power line and trees which unfortunately meant we had no internet during our 3 week stay. I would suggest getting a good international sim provider as reception can be spotty if the provided internet and wifi are not available.On the whole I highly recommend this property and both Olga and Marcus were easy to get hold of and responded to our questions quickly and professionally

We really enjoyed our stay at this amazing property! Great pool, Gym and enough Room for 10 people. Also other activities are near like the Beach, Tennis and stand up paddle. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Casa Marcelo! The villa was impeccable, spacious and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the pool, foosball table and pool table. Ideal location for day trips to Sintra, Porto and Obidos castle. Great golf at Royal Obidos and nice beach 10 minutes walk (we didn’t swim but would be perfect for family with younger kids), Highly recommend, we hope to go back one day… Thank you!

Perfect home for our family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this beautiful home! There was so much for our extended family of 9 to do; swimming pool, pool table, football table, board games, etc! The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed grilling out and spending evenings by the outdoor fire pit. We would definitely return.

A piece of paradise

This is definitely what you call a place to relax. The house and surroundings are simply amazing and with loads to do and see. The weather was incredible, tried paddle boarding and managed to stay standing. The host and neighbors are extremely friendly. The hard bit is to leave the house, will definitely be back.

A truly lovely property, probably better than described and photos, if you love golf you’ll be spoilt. Excellent recommendations from the host for locations to visit and some lovely walking paths to the lagoon and nearby bars. Great gym and pool at property and real hub of home downstairs and a great welcome pack as we arrived after shops had shut due to delays. Every comms responded to very promptly. Thoroughly recommend. Great place for a family reunion

We've been lucky to spend almost 2 weeks of our family vacation at the villa. Great experience overall. Few highlights that jumped out: - the lagoon, ocean and restaurants seemed to be much closer than we thought based on the description. The walk was enjoyable too - the property is kids friendly and well equipped for groups with children (including chair, games, kid pool section, floaties, etc.) - the host is very responsive and accommodating - the kitchen is very well equipped, though I wish we noticed earlier an additional storage in the kitchen isle (where the stools are) We will be happy to stay there again in the future!

Fantastic house

We loved staying at Casa Marcelo. The property looked as good if not better than the photos. Had everything we needed for two families of nine in total. It was great that every bedroom had its own ensuite as no waiting to use the bathrooms. There was a mixup with the key for check in but was quickly resolved and the communication with Olga was good. There was also some maintenance issues with the dishwasher and shower head but they were fixed the same day we contacted Olga. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Really excellent property

We had a wonderful two weeks at Casa Marcelo, with everything being exactly as advertised. Olga the property manager was on hand for the few queries we had and we enjoyed exploring the local area and sitting by our pool. Our trip coincided with some really quite hot weather (38 degrees) so the villa got a bit hot inside and there is no air conditioning (and as a result of flys and mosquitos we didn’t want to open the windows) so that is the only thing we would change. We would be happy to stay here again.

Wonderful, Relaxing Villa

A wonderful villa, in quiet surroundings...perfect for relaxing. The property is very well equipped, very clean and in a great location for the beach, local café/restaurants and for visiting the local villages and towns. Within 10 mins walk is the lagoon - which is lovely to swim in. We would highly recommend the Bica Da Lagoa café, where we had several meals and drinks. Would recommend hiring a car and visiting Obidos (15 mins drive) - both for a good look around, restaurants and the local supermarket to stock up. Baleal Beach (30 mins drive) is also a wonderful beach to visit. Couldn't fault our stay, the villa or the hosts. Many thanks

Family Reunion

We had a fantastic family reunion at Casa Marcelo this summer. The property is fabulous and we loved being there together. I actually think it is better in reality than the photos show. Communication with Marcelo and the manager was brilliant and they were helpful in recommending taxi services and giving additional information. We would go back in a heartbeat. The only complaint is that the outdoor area was not as clean as the rest of the house, however this did not stop us from enjoying our holiday!

Family holiday

This modern clean house was perfect for our family. The master bedroom was wonderful and the 4 other bedrooms were all en suite. The kitchen was superbly equipped and we cooked in 5/6 nights. The living area is spacious and the pool table was v popular. The swimming pool was warm and the garden and gym well maintained. The neighborhood is very residential and quiet and we didn’t try the local restaurants. The supermarket is a 20 min drive. Our favorite beach was also 20 mins by car in Ballial. Thanks to Marcelo and Olga for a great stay

Fabulous villa

Absolutely loved the Villa, it is beautiful and well equipped to a really high standard. It was a shame that the gym was out of action and we didn’t know about this until after we arrived, although disappointed it did not ruin our holiday.You definitely need to hire a car as felt quite isolated without one, although uber provide a great service, we did up spending a lot of them. The beach is a good walk away and not really accessible for most of our party, the water always seemed so far away! The area is very quiet and although there are a few restaurants close by, the walk to them is via a main road with no foot path. We certainly got our steps in but not great for the older ones in our party.Communication was great with Olga and Carlos, both were very helpful. The garden furniture is the only area that needs some attention, the cushions are a bit stained which is understandable if they are well used. Gardens are lovely and well maintained, pool was just right and we made use of this every day. This villa is perfect if you want a quiet peaceful holiday with a bit of luxury.Thanks to Carlos and Olga

Stunning villa, stunning location

Thank you Carlos for letting us stay in your amazing villa. For once I think the villa was actually better than the photos! All bedrooms had their own ensuite which was perfect for such a large group of us. The villa was comfy and had everything we could need. The pool table and football table got used a lot as unfortunately we didn't have the best weather, although that didn't stop the kids from using the pool daily. The kitchen was well-stocked and there was plenty of room for us all. The villa is in a quiet neighbourhood, quite remote but a short walk to the lagoon and to the three local restaurants (the fourth was shut, probably too early in the season). Olga was on hand to deal with anything that needed attention. The one and only thing to mention was the ongoing battle we had with the flies but I'm not sure you can do much about that?! Overall fantastic and would love to visit again, perhaps in the height of summer with better weather!

Silver Coast Family holiday

This was our second visit to the location this year. The villa was a perfect size for our party of 9 ( 4 adults and 5 teenagers) We had great fun playing pool and table football. Overall we had a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the walks down to the beach to watch the sunsets, walking along the lagoon and trying out the local restaurants (all walkable from the villa). We visited some of the local towns and our teenagers very much enjoyed a surf lesson in Baleal. Things to note The villa is advertised as having pool heating which is one of the main reasons I picked it for an October holiday (as knew we would need it) But the pool heating did not heat the pool to an adequate temperature. This was disappointing and worth being aware of prior to booking. However Carlos was very responsive on e mail regarding this during our stay and did not charge us the additional fee for heating the pool., We loved the area and are looking forward to returning in the new year to explore the area further.,

A nice villa on paper however missing the finer details and things to improve

Pro’s Nice size villa and location to the beach. Quiet neighbourhood. Well stocked kitchen utensils. Communication prior to arriving via Vrbo was very good and helpful. Checkin information was good. Con’s The in person villa manager was not very responsive and gave excuses for the below issues raised. Several of the bed side floating shelves were loose and coming away from the wall, which made these unusable. None of the bins in the upstairs bathrooms, had lids which is not hygienic. The dishwasher was not working and smelt like it had not been used in some time. Despite being told otherwise. The showers in the bathrooms had no shower curtains so the water went everywhere within the bathroom. There was no hand soap in any of the dispensers in any of the bathrooms upstairs. There were lots of flies inside downstairs, which took about 3/4 days to get rid of. I had read this on two other reviews, so clearly there is an issue. Although we made the most of our stay, some of the issues raised and the lack of interest to resolve them (continuous excuses) did put a dampener on things.

My name is Carlos Marcelo and I own Casa Marcelo with my wife and Villa Costa with my sister and mother. Originally from Coimbra in Portugal, moved to Jersey in the Channel Islands, UK over 30 years ago. We have two children and are extremely family orientated. We love Portugal and Obidos, and this is shown in the way we built and decorated both properties with respect and appreciation for the lovely neighbourhood and heritage. We love to spend any free time in our house with the family and friends.

Here you can discover pretty villages and a real Portuguese way-of-life among stunning coastal scenery fringed with the best beaches in Europe. Because much of this area of Portugal remains undiscovered by the mass tourism market you can guarantee a beach to yourself even in the height of the season.
Being Portuguese, I love my culture, heritage and people together with great food and life. I find it all here.

What makes this property unique

Extremely relaxing with all the amenities. You don`t really to leave the property as you will find everything you need for a relaxing holiday. However it would be almost a "waste" if you don`t visit the wonderful villages to the north and south of Obidos, This is the place that will make you comeback for more. Nazare, Sao Martinho Do Porto, Peniche, etc. Simply wonderful...
