Lovely house on the lake
The house was excellent for a family group. We were there for a week and there was plenty of room to spread out and comfortable places to gather. We especially enjoyed the screened porch. Highly recommend.

Amazing family get together on the lake
This is a wonderful property. We had ages 3weeks to 77 and everyone agreed it was a wonderful spot for a family reunion. Property manager EXTREMELY responsive. If I could give more than 5 stars we would!!

Beautiful home in charming town.
Family and friends enjoyed a peaceful week along the lake. House is as described. Very clean with beautiful historic charm. Plenty of room for the 7 adults in my group. The lawn between the house is very generous. We set up our Corn hole and Bocce ball games with plenty of room to spare. The dock is also very generous in size but quite a drop to get into the water. Launching kayaks might not be the easiest thing off of that dock. There is also no place to walk into the water if you’re looking to get your feet wet. Minor inconvenience but if you have small children, it’s worth noting. Overall, we loved the house and the town. Jacci was a pleasure to communicate with and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The neighbors were the friendliest we’ve come across in the various towns we’ve stayed on the finger lakes. All that passed by said hi and stopped to chat as we enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch. I would definitely recommend this home and location.

Great place for friends and family!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the McGuire House! Lovely property and we'll kept grounds. Coffee on the sun porch or dock in the morning was just perfect. House was well appointed and had everything we needed for the week. Jacci and Vergil were fantastic and so helpful when we had questions. Surrounding town was quaint with great restaurants within walking distance. The house is historic (1906) and has the feel of an old-fashioned family getaway home. The furnishings are dated and some things are well-worn, but it fits with the age and feel of the home itself. All of the bedrooms are on the top floor with only one bathroom to share, but we just had certain people use the bathrooms on the middle and bottom floor and it worked out just fine. Tons of towels and supplies, and enough of everything to have a full house with friends and family. All appliances worked well, including BBQ and firepit on the patio - highly recommend grilling and doing smores by sunset!! Overall we had a fantastic time and would recommend this place to anyone! This was originally the home of Polly and Henry McGuire and is still owned by the family. Jacci and Virgil Farlow manage this short term rental property along with four other guest houses along Main Street and under their business name of AuroraMainStays. We've lived in Aurora for over 26 years after living in major cities and have always appreciated the beauty, tranquility and natural grace that resides in Aurora.

Why they chose this property

We so love Aurora and love sharing it even more! This property has an exceptionally large backyard with great play space for kids and adult retreat spots as well. It's ideally situated to be in the middle of the village with access to Wells College boathouse, golf course and fitness center and all the shopping and eateries in Aurora.

What makes this property unique

Aurora is like no other small town, and we do mean small, it's just 3 miles long but balances beautiful, stately mansions along with charming village homes. It's quiet but enlivened with lots to do in a relaxed atmosphere. You can easily spend a week exploring the Finger Lakes region from here.
