[HOUSE RULES] ☞By booking this property, guests acknowledge and agree to comply with all house rules, additional rules, and disclosures listed.
1. NO SMOKING • Ocean Sands is a non-smoking community. Smoking is permitted only on the beach or by the fence along Fort Macon Road, away from all common areas, including the gazebos. • Smoking, vaping, and drug use are strictly prohibited inside the unit and in all common areas within the community. •A minimum $200 smoke remediation fee will be assessed if evidence of smoking is found. Additional charges for deep cleaning, damage, or disruption to future reservations may apply.
2. PET POLICY •No animals permitted in this unit due to owner allergies. • Pet-friendly units are available — guests traveling with animals should not book this unit and may request assistance finding a suitable alternative. • Unapproved animals are not permitted and may result in cancellation of the reservation without refund and/or a $200 additional cleaning fee.
3. PARKING PASS & KEYS • One (1) parking pass is provided. A second pass may be arranged prior to your stay for $25. • Parking passes must be clearly displayed at all times. Vehicles without a pass are subject to towing. • Parking passes are HOA-controlled items. A $200 fee applies for any lost or unreturned passes. • Guests are responsible for all keys. •$100 lockout fee | $50 lost key replacement fee • Lockouts occurring between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM will require the guest to arrange and pay for a locksmith.
4. STORM DOOR • The storm door must be closed immediately when entering or exiting the unit. • Due to strong coastal winds, guests are responsible for any damage caused by failure to properly secure the door.
5. OCCUPANCY POLICY • Occupancy is limited to the number of guests listed on the reservation. No unregistered guests are permitted. •The base rate includes up to 2 guests. There is a $15/night fee for each additional guest. •All guests (including children) must be included in the reservation prior to check-in.
6. SUBLEASING is not permitted. Reservations may not be reassigned without prior written host approval. A valid photo ID matching the reservation name may be required.
7. Guests agree to accept full responsibility for themselves and all occupants during the stay, including any damages, violations, or fees incurred.
8. Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless the host, agent, property management, Ocean Sands HOA, and Board of Directors from claims or damages arising from their stay.
9. The host, owner, or authorized representatives may enter the unit during reasonable hours for inspections, maintenance, or emergencies. Emergency and health/safety checks may occur without prior notice, similar to hotel practices.

Had a marvelous time. The accommodations were clean, convenient, and super easy access to the beach. The included parking pass and brochure things in the area we will come.
This place was perfect for the two of us. The view was amazing, the hosts were there for anything we needed, and the groundskeeper was friendly and helpful. We are definitely coming back!
Location was great. Short walk to beach. Great view. The room was small, which I knew , but the layout could be improved with minimal effort. No space at all to cook / prepare anything. Shower too low ( need to bend over if over 5’5”).
Great location. Perfect for two adults and 1-2 young children. May be a little crowded with more than two adults. The hosts were easy to communicate with when needed.
Property was convenient to beach access and local shopping. Semi private beach, so it wasn’t overly crowded. The only problem with the stay was we only had 1 towel and 1 wash rag for 2 people and housekeeping wouldn’t answer their phone. Other than that we enjoyed our stay!

This was just what we needed for a quick getaway. The view is beautiful, and we could ride our bikes to restaurants and shops. The description was accurate, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet in the evenings. The amenities were basic but all you needed, we cooked one meal in and ate out the rest of the weekend.
Some pros: this place is steps from the beach, and while we were here (late June) we were lucky that there were relatively few people around on the a very beautiful stretch of beach in front of this property (whereas a few hundred feet in either direction seemed more crowded, possibly because of the larger condos or hotels in either direction). There is a very nice view (see pictures from the listing). This is a corner unit on the 2nd floor, so we also appreciated not having anyone above us. The AC worked well so that was also nice.
Some cons/annoyances: the mattress was sagging, there is a significant gap under the entrance door, and the blinds don’t do enough to block out the very bright sunlight that comes in at sunrise - if you stay here make sure you bring a really good eye mask, especially if you’re not a morning person. There also seems to be a lot of humidity coming into this unit (there is a stand-alone dehumidifier device that we had to empty at least 3 times a day, it would fill up very quickly with water! I’ve stayed at many beachfront properties and have never had to deal with emptying a dehumidifier). Additionally, there is no sink in the bathroom, and barely enough space to close the door behind you when using the bathroom. This place is listed as having enough space for 4 people; even though it was just my husband and I, I can’t imagine sharing that small of a space with two more people.
We fortunately had mostly good weather when we were here, and so of course other than sleeping, watching some TV at night, and making meals, we didn’t spend a lot of time inside - we made the most of our time at the lovely beach and outdoors! If you’re looking for a place to just crash at then this would be ok. This was an ok stay, we left this place with mixed feelings. This place looks like it used to be a motel - it’s definitely an older-looking building. What you see in the pictures is what you get.

Hi Nicole. Thank you for taking the time to write a thorough review. We did upgrade the bathroom and felt that with the space it made sense to remove the bathroom vanity and expand the shower. Being right next to the beach we do have a lot of humidity and we do not have central A/C. We have added dehumidifiers to all of our units at the property to mitigate that humid feeling and our folks who have been return guests can see a difference and are very pleased with the addition. In the future I will look for a way to pipe the device through the exterior wall, but until then we find it just simpler for guests to empty the dehumidifier bucket. We do offer to stop in and take care of this for the guest if they desire. Built in the 1970's this was the gem of the crystal coast known as the Captains Bridge Motel. The property was sold to a developer who then sold the units as individually owned condo's. Only a fraction of the units are available for rent, which is why the property is not crowded and guests feel they have a lot of outdoor space to themselves.
We had a great experience. The room was lovely and the view from our room amazing. Property management was great and very responsive. We will def be back.
My parents and I had been wanting to see Emerald Isle and decided to take a last minute trip there. We found this unit to be perfect for our lil stay. Everything was exactly as pictured. We loved the view and all agreed it was one of the best things about the place.
Perfect space for a couple. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room. The location was great.

Listing stated that it is an an old motel that has been renovated.
We reserved two nights. Shortly after we arrived, I contacted the host to say we were not pleased with the unit and would not be able to stay the second night. If I had not worked all that day, and drove almost 2 hours to get there (arriving after 8:30) I would not have stayed the one night.
We checked out the next morning.
They were kind enough to refund us the second night fee.

Unfortunately the guest did not get to actually enjoy the property as they arrived well after dark and left in the morning. I'm a bit confused by the review. They seemed distraught about a personal issue, so I altered their reservation to check out the next day, so that we could make room for other guests to enjoy the property during the busy holiday weekend. Someone booked almost immediately after making the unit available again, and this was their review. "Loved the view! It was beautiful! Little apartment nice and very clean!" We believe we offer a quality product right next to the ocean. The location cannot be beat. We look forward to assisting you with your vacation needs.

This property is a hidden gem that many people just don't know about! The truth is that many owners want to keep this piece of private beach a secret.
The setting is amazing. Enjoy our charcoal grills, and have dinner with your family on our brand new picnic tables. You can enjoy the sunny outdoors, while listening to the sound of waves breaking on the shore, and the aromatic aroma of sea salt in the air!
What makes this property unique
You just can't beat rolling out of bed, and in a few steps planting your feet into the warm, soft Atlantic Beach sand! Staying on the beach is the way to go! There is no need to worry about crossing busy roads, or paying for parking, etc..
And for those of you with kids, well there are many activities for them as well. There is a large green lawn area, so if they get tired of playing on the beach, they can kick the soccer ball, play horseshoes, or whatever activity sparks their interest.
