About this property

Ancient mountain house in the chestnut woods

Holiday house in Monasterolo Casotto, a small village in the Valleys around Mondovì, suitable for a group of friends or families, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with shower, dining room and equipped kitchen. Private courtyard and large terrace with splendid views of the plain and the Alpine chain. Area suitable for lovers of nature and outdoor sports, you can take advantage of the rich network of medium and high mountain trails. You will enjoy a relaxing holiday.
During the winter period possibility of skiing and snowshoeing. In the other periods of the year excursions by bike, on foot and on horseback (also with a guide): in summer you can go for mushrooms and, in autumn, to participate in the chestnut harvest.
From a naturalistic point of view, the Caves of Bossea are worthy of note, among the most beautiful and important tourist caves in our country.
Mondovì is a beautiful medieval town: a very modern funicular connects the lower village of Breo with the upper one of Piazza (belvedere, cathedral, museums).
A few kilometers away you can visit the Sanctuary of Vicoforte and the cemetery church of San Fiorenzo di Bastia, a 15th century jewel entirely frescoed.
An hour's drive from Monasterolo: Turin, the Ligurian sea, the Langhe Unesco heritage and the Cuneo valleys.
The mountain valleys of Monregalese hide unexpected resources: the small village of Val Casotto, famous for its cheese maturing and, above all, for the hunting lodge castle of King Carlo Alberto; the Certosa di Pesio, built by the Carthusian monks in 1173; Artesina and Prato snowy in winter offer kilometers of ski slopes; in summer countless possibilities for medium and high altitude excursions along the paths that wind throughout the Monregalese area.
A private means of transport is required to reach the house and for travel.
