TOURISM: Saint Ambroix is located on the eastern flank of the Cévennes National Park, a protected yet inhabited area covering 91,000 hectares, which offers hikers and nature lovers a wealth of magnificent sites, notably the Corniche des Cévennes and the Gorges du Tarn. On the other side, Vallon-Pont-d’Arc, at the entrance to the Ardèche Gorges, is only about thirty kilometres away. To the south, the village of Anduze and the Bamboo Garden await your visit. Further south, about 50 km away, Nîmes—with its amphitheatre, Roman ruins, gardens, and old town—will keep you busy for the day; finally, at the same distance, the Pont du Gard is worth a detour before heading down to Avignon via the Duchy of Uzès.
