Cabin in the Woods close to KPHole and Free Rainbow River access

Come enjoy a getaway cabin on 3 wooded acres in the quiet peaceful Rio Vista Community. Rio Vista provides a private park with swimming, picnic area, restrooms, and boat ramp. We do have four 10ft kayaks and double kayak, that comes with your rental. Also provided is a roof rack to take your kayaks to the park or a golf cart you can rent. You can put them in at the community park that is 2 min. away. For larger boats, a public boat ramp is 15 minutes away in Dunnellon. We are located within minutes of KP Hole, restaurants and shopping while a close 5 minutes to the fishing, kayaking and tubing of the Rainbow River. The cabin provides a relaxing atmosphere for a week-end getaway. The cabin décor is a great combination of rustic Old Florida and Bass Pro Shop. We have most of the “bells and whistles” you would expect in a two bedroom, 1.5 bath Florida A-Frame cabin. Flat screen smart TV, dish cable, net flix, and Hughes Net satallite internet, updated kitchen but no dishwasher. The downstairs master bedroom enjoys a king-size bed with a full bath. Upstairs guests enjoy a comfortable queen bed and 1/2 bathroom. There is a double Futon for added sleeping. A wrap around porch provides opportunity for outside enjoyment of the Florida sunshine. There is a fure pit with plenty of wood to enjoy an evening fire or make samores. There is an outside gas grill on the deck, propane included, for your enjoyment. This is rustic Old Florida. We have a gravel road with
lots of trees so we have provided a covered carport for your use. There is wildlife in the area so bring your camera and binoculars.

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Take trash can to the road if leaving on a Monday or Tuesday. Trash pick up on Tuesday
Put all outside games back in bag or if used the cornhole game back on deck when finished playing.
Turn off all inside and outside lightscand leave air conditioner on 78 in summer and heat on 68 in winter.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
make sure small children are supervised coming up and down stairs.
Strip all beds used and place down stairs in front of washer and place all towels in washer and start load. Wash all dished and leave in strainer
Guest must send written confirmation of overnight guest count and daytime visitor count within 24 hours of booking request

Great time relaxing here

Our family had a great time. Very peaceful and relaxing. We tubed down the Rainbow River and swam at the Springs. Enjoyed some BBQ on the nice porch deck. We are definitely coming back soon. Thanks!

Excellent vacation getaway

Very quiet and peaceful setting. The cabin was clean and very well stocked. We did several kayaking trips during our stay and the cabin's location was perfect. It was also really nice to be able to get our kayaks on the Rainbow River from the neighborhood park. We had our dogs with us and they loved their walks along the road. So many wildlife tracks for them to sniff and enjoy! We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area.

Peace & Quiet

This property is perfect if you want to get away from it all. It's clean, incredibly well stocked with kitchen and bath items, and has a great yard for games and gatherings around the large fire pit. The wrap around porch is perfect for quiet meditation, yoga, or bird-watching. If you're looking for serenity, this is the place!

Always a great place

Everything is as listed. It’s been a home away from home for us. We’ve stayed here 3-4 times. The golf cart wasn’t charging well 9on our last trip, and the brakes were bad, that’s the only thing negative we could say. Otherwise, it’s great!!!

Everything was perfect! .....the cabin very cozy and homie, clean and comfortable, we loved the fact we had our Father over for dinner.......the kayaks and having private access to the river was amazing!!! Leslie was very helpful and super professional......This place is a MUST!!!

Would Highly Recommend

The Cabin is adorable and it was perfect for our weekend trip. It is close to Rainbow River. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. You get a warm feeling just as soon as you drive up and that doesn't stop at the front door. Comfortable beds and furnishings, extra supplies in case you forgot something... you name it and they thought of it. We would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

The stay was wonderful and the area was clean and well kept. Nice and quiet area. The Rainbow River entrance was a plus. The house was nice and we would stay here again. Suggestion - The Kayaks need to be updated as they had been repaired from leaks and we were afraid to take them out. We understand that the golf cart and kayaks were extras, but they need to be updated for safety. The owners were very helpful!

Perfect cabin close to everything but feel as though you are far away

We rented the cabin over a weekend for some birthday celebrations to enjoy the river and go for a float down the Rainbow River. The location of this cabin is ideal as you have everything you need within minutes but you feel secluded while tucked in the woods. The cabin was clean and had PLENTY of towels, blankets, etc. the cabin also had plenty of flatware, cooking utensils, baking sheets/dishes and bowls/plates/cups/coffee cups/etc. we will most certainly rent this cabin again when we return to the area. THANKS GUY!

Another fantastic stay at the cabin

If you look at Sept 2018 under Naomi B you will see my detailed review. This trip was all that and more! The river is just as beautiful and the cabin is still perfect. The trailer on the golf cart makes it easier to haul the kayaks to the river and in this year of social distancing we appreciated the private park. The kitchen is well-stocked and big thanks to everyone who left their condiments; we enjoyed the hot sauce. The rooms are good size and having an extra bathroom to use in the cozy loft upstairs makes this Diva Girl happy. Mother Nature treated us to a thunderstorm we got to enjoy on the huge and well-furnished porch as well as two cool-ish mornings so I could do yoga on the porch. Dinner at Swampy's was doable outside and during the week we had no problem getting a riverfront table. Chili's was perfect for our late-night dinner and the server who brought my honey ice cream and sang Happy Birthday with me left a sweet memory in my heart. I finally made it to Grumble's Antiques and Garden shop to get the statue I wanted and also the artist co-op. There are more shops in town I didn't get to visit so we'll have to stay an extra night the next time we come. And, we didn't get to try out the canoe so there's another reason for a longer stay. I sooooo much appreciated Leslie promptly answering my questions for this last-minute booking and making sure we got the golf cart for the kayaks. My soul desperately needed a get-away-from-craziness nature break and this was perfect. I can't recommend this cabin highly enough! As I ask all hosts, please use unscented soaps/detergents for us scent-sensitive folks. Thank you!

LOVED OUR STAY! We all enjoyed the cabin, and floating and swimming in the Rainbow River. The cabin was comfortable with plenty of outdoor hangout space and things to do. We made fires in the fire pit each night.Our dog met a young deer, and they played together for at least 5 minutes. So cute!We found an EXCELLENT Mexican restaurant nearby (Riviera Maya) on our first night. We couldn't believe how good it was. We went back again.

Wonderfully private cabin with everything you need, and then some. Very clean home, comfortable bed. There’s a large loft with two more beds, but we only used the downstairs. We didn’t have time to use all of the amenities that came with this cabin, but really enjoyed the community park with water access! Groceries, gas, and KPHole is just down the road, and Rainbow Springs is a very short drive. We even went into Homasassa Springs and found a wild animal (think sanctuary for eagles!, red wolves, panther, bears,etc.) nature walk. Leslie responded very quickly when I had a question. What a great spot! We loved this place!

The Perfect VRBO!

Leslie is an amazing host. The cabin is located down a backroad, and it's very quiet. Daily we would see deer on the property. There is a new grocery store right down the road. KP Hole for those planning to scuba dive is less than 5 minutes away. There is a private park on Rainbow River minutes down the road that you will have access to. We loved everything about the home. Also, it's dog friendly, which was a must for us. Thank you Leslie!

Fantastic!! And Fun!!

The cabin in the woods was so very cozy. Just our style! The vista park was very convenient and clean. Made it adventure perfect. We used it car to transport it paddleboard with no problem. Just wish we had more time. Plan to come back.

NCAA Gator Getaway

We were looking to explore the area and Rainbow River and this place was excellent!! Plenty of room for everyone and the property is extremely cozy and relaxing. We spent 4 days floating the Rainbow River, enjoyed the fire pit, and dinning in some of the local restaurants. We are a big fan of the Crab Plant and it was within a 30 minute drive so it was perfect.
