Beautiful stay, beautiful location

Had a wonderful mid week break. The apartment was perfect - clean, high quality with a great view out to the river. The kitchen was compact but well equipped, shower was great too. It's a quiet and peaceful getaway and there are lots of walks and places to visit within the local area, wound thoroughly recomment. NB: to EV drivers - Suffolk Hideaways charge £30 per overnight charge.

Lovely place with great views

The accommodation was extremely good with wonderful views of the River, sadly we could not make use of the outdoor facilities which looked excellent as well but it was too cold. It was great the golf course was just on the other side of the road. Aldeburgh town had good restaurants one of which was recommended in the comprehensive notes that were supplied and the owners could not have been friendlier. The only disappointing thing was the walk into Aldeburgh was along side the main road but it did not spoil anything for us.

Did not want to leave

Waking up to the view from the bedroom window was a joy. The flat was comfortable and warm, even in February. Top quality furniture and fittings, bedding, towels and toiletries. The kitchen had everything we needed but would benefit from a good non-stick frying pan and a Nespresso machine for coffee. The cafetière supplied was adequate but not very convenient. These are minor things and in no way spoiled our holiday. We had a wonderful time and would stay at River View again.

A peaceful apartment in a popular destination

For us this was an ideal self catering holiday accommodation. It is close enough to Aldeburgh but so peaceful with extensive grounds to sit in and wander round. The view is exactly as the property is naned with views across the owner’s garden towards the river and marshland beyond. The property had all we needed for a week’s stay in comfort and the area is a delight to explore.

Beautiful apartment with stunning view

We enjoyed a lovely long weekend in River View at the start of February. It was beautifully furnished and warm and cosy after days out exploring this area of Suffolk, from Southwold down to Orford. You need a car to eat out in Aldeburgh unless you are up for a half hour walk but you can walk to the neighbouring Hazelwood nature reserve which has a bird hide looking out onto the Alde estuary. RSPB Minsmere is also a short drive away and worth a visit too if you love wildlife. Highly recommend River View as it had everything we needed and was in great condition.

Great accommodation with beautiful views

We loved this place. So peaceful and amazing view. High quality accommodation in beautiful setting. Great walks from your doorstep. A bit of a walk into the town but worth it for the peaceful setting. Couldn't fault.

Very comfortable stay

Lovely apartment with great views. Very clean, quiet, comfortable and stylish. Handy for the start of the 4 mile walk to Snape Maltings - only slight disappointment was that it was not realistic to walk into Aldeburgh along the busy main road. Otherwise it was very well located for exploring the coastal area.

Beautiful position, stylish abode.

With tide and light always changing, the beautiful position of River View made a perfect centre for exploring the area. Handy for both Snape and Aldeburgh and excellent access to the marsh for birding.

Suffolk escape

Couldn’t fault the property in anyway. Convenient for walks from the door, although not close to the centre of Aldebugh. Spectacular view of the estuary. Hope to visit again.

On arrival the cottage has a good appearance, but once in, and when settling in, it has a number of short comings. It is a self-catering cottage with no storage for food Round door knobs which jam your fingers against the door frame when rotated Two single duvets on a super-size double bed (made up from 2 zipped singles) Door to the cottage is second hand, a former letter box can be seen, it also fits poorly and rattles in the wind or when one of the down stair doors are opened Bathroom has a bolt on the door which cannot be open from the outside (illegal?) Bedroom wardrobes knobs have wooden blocks on the inside that have not been cleaned up after being cut Limited outdoor seating which suffers from road noise, rather than take advantage of the shown views TV signal marginal, picture freezes No mats for hot drinks Some of “shabby chic” effects looking shabby already The cottage is clean, initially well-presented and has potential, but fails in the final execution.

We intend to return.

Extremely friendly and caring service from Suffolk Hideaways. The accommodation was most attractive and in a beautiful location. Well equipped kitchen, delightful bathroom, very comfortable big bed and plenty of wardrobe space. Owners and cleaner very friendly and helpful. Our only (small) comment, along with others in the visitors’ book, was that it wasn’t possible to walk down to the river behind the property.

A Relaxing Getaway

The visit to Riverview was all we expected, comfortable, well equipped and peaceful. The view from the first floor bedroom was a delight. Our only criticism was that one of the previous clients had left a very dirty dinner plate that wouldn’t have been obvious to the housekeeper as it wasn’t on top, also a dirty chopping board. That aside we had a lovely time and would highly recommend the property.
