About this property

Our comfortably furnished Kihei Kai Nani vacation condo will be your home away from home. Located in a lush tropical setting; palms, vibrant flowering trees, and the sweet perfume of plumeria and hibiscus will surround you. Afternoon tradewinds and interior fans keep our condo comfortable year round.

Our condo has just been renovated with new maple kitchen cabinets and a full size shower. Our furnishings are tropical, as is the wall art, and we offer all the amenities of home including a kingsize bed, full size Bosch washer and dryer and a separate AC for the bedroom and living areas. The kitchen is complete with all large and small appliances and plenty of table ware. You will enjoy watching the 42' Samsung Smart TV & DVD player, complete with a DVD film library of old classic films and musicals. Naturally, we provide free cable and fast WiFi. Dine indoors or out on the lanai and enjoy the antics of the many varieties of birds in the nearby trees, or lounge with a good book at Kihei Kai Nani's large beautifully renovated swimming pool. Of course we provide beach chairs, umbrella, towels, and cooler for your beach use.

Don't forget we are a NON-SMOKING RESORT.

Beautiful Kamaole Beach II, only a five minute stroll from our front door, awaits you for a morning swim or snorkel in its warm, blue waters with sea turtles and tropical fish; and at sunset to bask in the glow of a radiant sky while the gentle surf teases you to return for an evening dip, or to take a barefoot walk along the surf-line. In the winter months, humpback whales will entertain you as they frolic in the nearby sea.

Kihei is centrally located for all of Maui's activities. Shopping and restaurants are an easy walk away, and Wailea, the home of elegant resorts and world-class golf courses, is just minutes away by car. The famed Maui ocean center with our acquarium is located in nearby Ma'alaea, where you can also book your whale watching and boat adventures.

Great location, good stay

The best part of this property is the location. Right across from the beach, walkable to so many restaurants. Property has beach amenities. AC is on a timer so as long as we stayed on top of that, the place was cool. Only downside was some harmless ghost ants during our stay, but they didn’t bother us too much.

Great Location

As advertised in pictures, clean and had everything you’d need and more. The a/c units were on 3 hour timers and the bedroom was very warm. We were woken every 3 hours when it shut off and got hot very quickly, not a restful vacation.

Overall okay

Pros: clean, location-close to a beach, some beach gear to use, nice big swimming pool, washer/dryer in the condo, owner was sweet and helpful Cons: Air conditioners are on a 4 hour timer and the bedroom one doesn't work very well, king bed is hard, 3rd floor and no elevators, owner lives right next door so felt like we're being watched

My dear husband, Lothar, passed away December 3, 2020, on his 85th birthday. We were married 62 years. Lothar was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and I was born in Brooklyn, NY, but we both spent our early years in Los Angeles, and went to UCLA. We moved to San Francisco in 1967, where Lothar worked for the City, and I taught high school English and history, and was also a librarian and community college instructor. We are blessed with 2 wonderful sons, daughter-in-laws, and 6 fantastic grandchildren. Eric is an educator, with gorgeous twin girls, and Kris, is an architect, with 3 surfing sons and a beautiful surfing daughter. We split our year between CA and HI, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends in both places. We loved traveling to far-away places and traveled extensively. In Maui, we ocean swam and snorkeled every morning at our lovely Kamaole 2 Beach, just across the road. We also enjoyed water aerobics and long beach walks, especially at sunset. I love to cook and entertain family and friends in Maui and San Francisco. We both loved to read, watch good films, and listened to both classical and folk music- especially if we could sing along! We made our first trip to Hawaii in 1975 and decided it was where we wanted our vacation home. After we retired, we spent most of the year in Hawaii enjoying its beauty, the beaches, the weather and the wonderful Aloha spirit of the people.

Why they chose this property

We bought our KaiNani condo in 1984 on our first visit to Maui. We fell in love with the beautiful gardens, fabulous Kamaole beaches and the warm aloha feeling on the property. KaiNani really is like a small village. People here really care about their environment and neighbors. We are located in the rear of the resort, so we have complete privacy and are surrounded by beautiful tropical trees and plants. Our grandchildren have grown up visiting us here and love "our" beach and pool. We can't imagine a better vacation for them (or us).

What makes this property unique

We hope you'll enjoy dining on our lanai, watching our visiting birds and geckos and enjoying the beautiful blossoms of every hue, as well as the tropical scents they send to remind you that Maui no ka oi! (Maui is the best!). Our winter guests have the added benefit of watching hump back whales blowing and leaping right from our Kamaole beaches. And every sunset will be spectacular and unique. You will never grow tired of seeing the beauty that nature provides.
