About this property

2 ensuite bedrooms, a spacious, well appointed Gîte overlooking the River Authie

Our Gîte offers a secluded haven overlooking the farmland and delightful countryside of the Seven Valleys region but is less than an hour away from Calais. The lounge, dining area and kitchen are tastefully decorated, well equipped and have free WiFi connection. One bedroom has a king-size bed, the other, 2 singles, which can be made into a super- king on request. Both have modern en-suite shower rooms. The accommodation is all on one level and it is non-smoking. Picture windows look out onto the large, secluded garden which borders the river. There is a private entrance and ample parking. The patio, complete with BBQ and outside dining facilities, is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the birdsong and morning sun. Herons, ducks, swans, coots, moorhens, egrets, cormorants, storks, deer, wild boar and grazing charolais have all been seen from the lounge/salon window.
Gite at 105 is ideally situated to explore this unhurried corner of France. Only 15 minutes from the picturesque town of Montreuil-sur-Mer, 25 minutes from the medieval town of Hesdin and 40 minutes from the chic resort of Le Touquet. The area is renowned for, vast, sandy beaches which are just 25 minutes away.
Wooded hillsides are topped by wide open fields and there are numerous opportunities to explore colourful local markets, historic sites and villages offering a variety of local cuisine. Pretty St Valery-sur-Somme and the nature reserve of Marquenterre are 40 minutes away. The stunning Abbaye de Valloires is 10 minutes along the road. There is a direct train line to Paris; Lille, Arras and Amiens are also within easy reach. The local area is a farming community, local amenities are a short drive away.
The area is very popular with fisherman (trout lakes abound!) cyclists, golfers (Nampont-st Martin golf course is 5 minutes away) and all those who want to escape and spend time in a tranquil spot but be able to easily access a diverse wealth of cultural, seaside and countryside experiences.
Unfortunately, as the river is so close, we are unable to accommodate young children.
We were "adopted" by a kitten a while ago, she has grown into a rather curious cat! We will do our very best to keep her away from you but cannot promise that she will not come to say hello.

Our home is adjacent to our Gîte, although completely separate, so we are on hand to offer any assistance to make your stay as special as possible. We look forward to welcoming you, chez nous!

Great stay at Gite 105

Had a lovely stay at Gite 105, which was very clean and well equipped. A very generous welcome pack of croissants, bread, butter, cheese, pate, wine and fruit was much appreciated. We really enjoyed chilling, watching the ducks, (which are very vocal) moorhens and goose on the river, the cows in the field opposite and the variety of birds including a woodpecker and of course Bramble the cat. There are lots of interesting places to visit within a short distance and plenty of restaurants close by and in Hesdin, Abbeville and St Riquier.

Luxury Gite

Thank you Heidi and Neil you have an Wonderful gite, we will be back. For anyone looking to stay we highly recommend the gite and Neil and Heidi as hosts. The kitchen cupboards are full with everything you could possibly need. Seating is very comfortable and ideal for watching the cows and calf’s antics in the field over the river as well as all the birds coming and going. The beds where firm and bedding luxurious, just right for a good nights sleep. Showers where wonderful with big shower heads and loads of hot water. The location is peaceful and an ideal retreat away from the tourist areas, we look forward to a return visit.

So peaceful & perfect

We have stayed in many properties throughout France and this is the best, we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Gite at 105. Neil & Heidi greeted us on arrival and showed us around this beautiful property. It was spotless and so well equipped, they seem to have thought of everything from slippers and toiletries to umbrellas and binoculars to view the wildlife. A welcome snack was waiting including pate, cheese, tomatoes, bread, croissants, jam, wine, milk, tea & coffee. Although Neil & Heidi live next door, the gite is completely private and not overlooked at all. They are there if you need them but if not you don't see them. It is a lovely peaceful location but close to many places of interest and the coast with it's beautiful beaches is just 20 minutes away. Calais and the Eurotunnel is around an hour. We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay and look forward very much to a return visit.

Semaine parfaite. La maison est très agréable et très bien équipée. L'environnement calme et verdoyant est reposant. Le jardin bien entretenu ainsi que la vue sur les champs et les animaux depuis les grandes baies vitrées sont un vrai régal pour les yeux. Nous recherchions un lieu calme à la nature, loin de l’agitation de la ville. Ce lieu est tout simplement charmant avec un paysage bucolique changeant au gré du vent et des marées. Gite at 105

We had a lovely break at Gite at 105. As soon as we walked in we realised it was even better than the photos showed. The view from the very large window was beautiful and made you want to walk straight over to the window and just stare out. The Gite was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The welcome pack was very welcome and beautifully presented, with cheese, pate, grapes, tomatoes, biscuits, wine, etc, etc, all of which was delicious! The Gite is well located for visiting lots of interesting places. Heidi and Neil were perfect hosts, there if needed but leave you alone if not. One day we were all set to go out but our car battery was flat. One ring of the bell and Neil was there with his box of tools and offering all sorts of assistance, and in the pouring rain too. He got our car started and waved us off with a “call me if you breakdown again and I’ll come and tow you back”! We can highly recommend a stay at this Gite. A big thank you to Neil and Heidi.

105 is beautiful property in a peaceful rural location with lovely views of the river. The gite is extremely well appointed and to a very high standard with lovely towels and linens. Heidi and Neil are very welcoming and informative. We had an enjoyable stay, despite the weather, and enjoyed exploring this area of France.

Our stay in Nampont

Very warm welcome from Heidi and Neil. The accomodation is truly satisfying as it was recently renovated. Kitchen is fully equipped just as it would be if you were at home. British luxury comfort all over the place. High quality decoration and attention to detail. Beautiful view out of the living room. We loved it. However, a few points of criticism to make this a real review: the beds were really hard but there are plenty of duvets to make it softer if you want. Also, the wifi isn't really fast, which makes it sometimes impossible to stream a video of the internet. But for normal use it's fine.

Perfect gite

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gite 105. We were greeted warmly by Heidi and Neil who had waited very patiently for us as we had traffic delays in England and France. The "welcome pack" was much appreciated after our journey. Pate, cheese, bread, grapes and wine and croissants for breakfast. The gite itself was very well equipped for cooking and barbecuing and the lounge area and bedrooms very comfortable. It was a plus to have an ensuite bathroom to each bedroom. It is well placed for walking to at least 2 restaurants. We were a party of 2 couples who had come to France to play golf. Well placed, only 15 minutes drive, to one of the best golf courses in the area La Belle Dune. Thank you Heidi and Neil for a fab stay. We would definitely recommend this gite to friends and fellow golfers.

Traumhafte Gite und herzliche Gastgeber

Obwohl es bei unserer Ankunft stark regnete, wurde uns bald warm um' s Herz, da wir durch Heidi und Neil wirklich herzlich empfangen wurden. Vielen Dank noch einmal an dieser Stelle! Die Gite selbst ist sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet. In der Küche findet man alles, was man braucht. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und neuwertig. Das absolute Highlight ist jedoch die Lage direkt am Fluss. Der Ausblick ist einzigartig und die Lage optimal für Ruhesuchende, da die einzigen Geräusche Vogelgezwitscher und das Muhen der Kühe gegenüber sind. Es befinden sich einige gute Restaurants in der Nähe, die in wenigen Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen sind. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Strände lassen sich in 15-25 Minuten erreichen. Wer ab und an zum Strand möchte, ohne sich dem Trubel eines Küstenortes auszusetzen, ist hier genau richtig. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Je gite at 105 est un vrai regal -l'equipement est parfait, il me manque rien -l'emplacement est idyllique au bord de l'Authie, au milieu des animaux , de la nature enchanteresse, les canards viennent vous saluer gracieusement et le chat Bramble aussi - mais par-dessus tout, les proprietaires , Heidi and Neil, sont delicieux, prevenants ,delicats et tres soucieux du bien-etre de leurs hotes.Nous reviendrons!!!!! a huge thank to them!and kindly regards ! No traffic jams or supermarket queues, unspoilt countryside and a wealth of wildlife, friendly locals and good food, wide open spaces and uncrowded beaches, historic and stylish architecture - what more could anyone wish for! Our home is adjacent to our Gîte, although completely separate, we are on hand to offer any assistance you may need.

As the river is so close, we are unable to accommodate young children, teenagers are welcome.

Please be aware that an abandoned kitten turned up on our doorstep 3 years ago and has taken up residence! She is lively and curious, we will do our best to keep her away from the Gîte but cannot make any promises!
