Poppy is a rural 3 bedroom Gite for up to five guests

Traditional French cottage situated in a quiet hamlet. The excellent local boulangerie is just 3 minutes away by car or 10 mins by bicycle.
Just 18km to the beautiful town of Josselin with its busy Saturday market and selection of bars and restaurants, and a beautiful chateau beside the Nantes-Brest canal.

22km to the Lac au Duc with water sports, swimming beach, golf course and spa.
Further afield the sandy beaches of the south coast make a great day trip being a 70-90 minute drive away or the north coast area around Erquy is also a 70 minute drive.

Poppy Gite
Poppy Gite is built of local stone with original beams. Downstairs is an open plan lounge/dining-room/kitchen. Comfy sofas and dining table for five. Well equipped kitchen area with gas cooker, four burner hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and all utensils. Washing machine and clothes-airer, iron and ironing board. TV with English satellite channels, DVD player and CD player with USB input.

Upstairs are three bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with two single beds, and one with a single bed. Crisp white bed linen with lightweight duvets. Bathroom with shower enclosure, sink and toilet.
Fluffy towels are provided for each guest and Towels for the pool area
Outside there is a table and chairs, bbq and sun umbrella,
Shared Heated outdoor pool open from end of May to September. Deck area with sun-loungers and garden furniture. The pool is shared with one other gite.


To plan your journey the port at St Malo is 90 minutes away, Roscoff is 2 hours away, the airport at Rennes is 60 minutes away, Dinard is 70 minutes away

Rustic charm

We had a lovely week here with our family of 5. The gite is full of character and has everything you need. A great base for the surrounding areas of interest. Donna and David were brilliant hosts with lots of tips for places to eat and areas to visit. The pool was a big hit with the kids and adults alike. Nice touches with providing pool towels and a welcome of wine, cake and milk and other provisions! We will stay again when we’re back on France. Thank you!

The gite was fine. Only real problem was the location of the pool, which is quite separate from the gite. This was enough to mean neither my wife nor my son were prepared to use it.

A most wonderful place to stay

The gite was perfect. So well stocked with everything we could need. My wife asked if our hosts had a nut cracker, and voila it was there. The pool is a great place to hang out and we BBQed often. It is quiet and our hosts discrete. They were always available for great advice from David and Donna is quite a raconteur, great stories and a great laugh. The location is perfect for visiting north and south, with most places, like Mont St Michel, Vannes, Dinard and so much more being just over an hour away. Puy de Fou is only two and half hours away. It feels very French and there are great places to shop and eat in surrounding towns. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to return next year.

Perfect May break!

Firstly, Donna & Dave are lovely! After issues at the airport… we arrived to their lovely house. It had all we needed and more! Giant connect 4 was waiting which amused my son (age 6). Dave sorted the pool early for us to enjoy sunny swimming afternoons! Donna left us her home made cakes… yummy! Thank you! The house is clean, spacious, lovely outdoor seating area, has everything you need including a BBQ! Thank you Donna & Dave!!

Holiday with Young grandchildren

Looked like a typical French property from outside but not so inside. The property was well kitted out in the kitchen area with great white goods but the bedroom left alot to be desired. The double bed just had a double bed in there no means to hang anything up or put anything in drawers and the other two rooms were very small, and the beds were not very comfortable

A perfect de-stressing stay

We booked both gites as we are an extended family. Both were better than expected, and Donna & David were wonderful hosts! Great knowledge of the local area and beyond, they were always spot on with a recommendation for a day trip or a dinner out. The gites had everything you need to be a home from home and their setting is so peaceful in beautiful countryside. The welcome pack was very welcome after a very long trip down from Calais in an electric car, who's driver knew better than the charge map app ( the return journey was much quicker using the app!) Donna and David stayed up to show us around the gites and make us feel at ease and at home. Loved our holiday, loved our hosts, will definitely be visiting again!

Erg aangenaam en ontspannend .Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaars.We hadden zeer mooi weer waardoor de kids volop genoten van het zwembad ,wij ook trouwens.Mooie wandelingen gedaan in de omgeving,de kust is wel een eind rijden.. Eigenlijk voor herhaling vatbaar.

Very warm welcome

A nice and cozy house, in a place from which you can go on a lot of daytrips bot near and far. Donna and David are very nice hosts. They immediately make you feel at home and are ready whenever you have a question or need assistance. We had a lovely holiday here and can recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Brittany.

Awesome stay at fleurs de Garcelmont

We spend 2 wonderful weeks in Garcelmont. The gite is well equipped with comfortable beds and sofas, and many kitchen utensils. Garcelmont is within easy reach of menhirs, beaches, nice villages, forest, castles and everything you might want to see in Brittany. The pool was a great place to rest. Thank you Donna and David!!

Gite atypique par temps froid

Les chambres sont situées à l'étage et ne sont pas chauffées, seul le poêle à bois et à pétrole (situé en bas) chauffe l'ensemble rendant ainsi les nuits fraiches à l'étage. Un chauffage d'appoint ne serait pas de trop. L'étage est en parquet bois massif qui grince énormément ainsi que les portes, dès que quelqu'un se déplace la nuit, les autres occupants sont réveillés par le bruit, ce qui est dommage. Les hôtes sont accueillants et le panier d'arrivée est un plus.

Excellent séjour en bordure de Brocéliande

Malgré le temps mitigé, nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille. L'accueil à notre arrivée était super avec petits cadeaux attentionnés des propriétaires. Malgré la barrière de la langue, les propriétaires sont toujours amicalement présents et attentifs tout le long du séjour. Le gîte est idéalement situé, très calme et point de départ idéal pour les excursions d'un jour, quoique la région regorge de magnifiques endroits à visiter. Petite suggestion de la part de consommateurs de café : un appareil électrique (percolateur, senseo, ...), serait bien venu; mais nous nous sommes bien débrouillés avec les cafetière à pompe. Mis à part cela, le logement est parfait, très joli et bien équipé. Encore un grand merci à Donna et David pour leur accueil chaleureux.

Très bon séjour

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à Mohon! David et Donna sont des gens charmants. Le petit bé mol pour nous fut les occupants du gîte mitoyen qui rentraient au milieu de la nuit avec beaucoup de bruits, nous réveillant ainsi que nos enfants. Peut être un petit rappel des règles de civisme pourrait être a prévoir.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable. La location est très bien équipée et les lits sont très confortables. Les propriétaires sont gentils et serviables. Ils ont ont tout fait pour nous mettre la piscine malgré le temps qui n’était pas au rendez vous. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Gemütliches Haus mit Pool im Zentrum der Bretagne

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus war geschmackvoll und funktional eingerichtet, die Waschmaschine praktisch. Der Pool inkl. Liegestütze war gepflegt. Die beiden Vermieter waren supernett. Ausflüge in alle Himmelsrichtungen ideal: Rennes, Vannes, Carnac, Nordküste, Lac au Duc... Lage und Haus sehr empfehlenswert!
