La Torretta dei Merli with Views

La Torretta dei Merli, one of the most sensational properties for rental in Vernazza. It can be compared to a romantic nest dominating the village and the waters of beautiful Vernazza.

The Studio
La Torretta dei Merli is a lovely, romantic studio, restored in 2017. It lies in the very heart of the village of Vernazza, just a few steps from the main square. Its front door lies next to the steps, called "A scainâ" in Vernazza dialect or "La Scalinata" in Italian, that takes from the back street, Via Vernazza, to Piazza Marconi.

From the front door in Via Vernazza a steep staircase (35 steps - guests are advised!) takes us to the property main door. Then, other 13 steps up and we are in the studio which is a bright open space. The studio finds its triumphant part in the tower area, actually the bedroom of the property.
On entering the studio we have, on our left, 2 single beds. This part is characterised by a tilting ceiling and a narrow long window running over the beds. The window opens on the typical neighbour houses of the "carugio" (back road).

To our right we have the kitchen fully equipped and with the washing machine. From kitchen area we get to a terrace overlooking the village.

The Terrace
No need to say that the terrace will immediately make us part of the village and its life. The Cinque Terre essence will explode in front of us. We'll never get tired of indulging on this terrace watching the coloured village life of Vernazza .We can spot Piazza Marconi, the Ventegà and the boats coming back and forth the pier. Then we see Monterosso and the Mesco Promontory which appear in the distance with the succession of hues and shades from sunrise to sunset.

In the tower portion of the property we have a double bed magnificently oriented towards the sea and Santa Margherita tower bell. Every morning and every night the views from your bed at La Torretta dei Merli will be a magical dream!

The coloured bathroom with shower is simple but functional.

Property has air conditioning, Nespresso coffee maker and wifi.

A safety gate protects accidental falls from the studio down to the indoor steps. The name, La Torretta dei Merli derives from its architecture that resembles a medieval tower, "Torretta" means small tower. "Dei Merli" underlines the fact that it is characterised by "merlons and crenellations". It recalls another property in the Cinque Terre with the same structure, even if much larger and taller, La Torre dei Merli. This bigger one a big residential tower, exclusive property for rental managed by  Cinque Terre Riviera. The two towers lie on a ideal line that joins Monterosso to Vernazza. From  Vernazza and La Torretta dei Merli terrace we can easily see La Torre. Viceversa if we look at Vernazza from La Torre dei Merli in Monterosso. A curious kinship indeed!
