Views from the bedroom were amazing. Property had everything (and more) you could ever need. Perfect weekend getaway although I could have stayed much longer!
This house was amazing!! The view was absolutely breath taking. The house is stocked with things you may have forgot to bring. The owners are very friendly and spine to us fall while outside. I'll Def stay there again.
Absolutely stunning view. Even the drive there was rather magical. SOOO quiet and gorgeous and private. Really really nice. Easy parking. Host left us coffee!! I had a question and he responded in minutes. Comfortable mattresses, lovely linens, clean house... felt safe and spoiled.
My sister and I had an absolutely glorious stay at the Lake House for our 3rd Annual Sister Vacation. The weather was summer like, and the views were spectacular. The house met all our needs - spacious kitchen, as we like to cook most of our meals, 2 bathrooms, comfortable living room furniture with large TV and streaming, generous bedrooms with very comfy mattresses, plenty of towels, cleaning products, pantry items - just about anything you would ever need.We traveled to several surrounding areas during our stay. Our favorites: Hershey - trolley tour and theater are must dos, ice cream at The Old Barn is the best, Shenks Ferry Wildflower Preserve (March and April are the peak times), and just hanging out at the Lake House and paddling on the river make for a fun-filled week! And, Karen and Brian - If I could give them each 10 stars, I would! They were so quick and gracious to respond to anything we asked. The TLC they pour into keeping their property in immaculate condition is very impressive. We couldn’t be happier with our stay.
We loved the views, the eagles and the house was awesome!Brian was very helpful, and responded right away to a couple of questions we had, would book there again.
The property was very nice with a good view of the river. Bald eagles were seen multiple times. The property was well equipped. It is in a peaceful area with minimal car traffic. The surrounding area is very scenic.
House has an amazing property was very clean and comfortable. Host was very responsive to any questions and came immediately when I called about a bee hive. I would stay again and again.
Place was very clean and very quiet place to relax. Had one issue with door lock and owner came and fixed it within minutes! Will definitely be back again!
Overall had a fantastic stay. Only slight issue was the electronic lock wasn't working when we got there. Called The Host and was in within a few minutes. The house was spotless and well-stocked. During our stay it snowed. Brian was out first thing in the morning clearing all of the snow around our vehicles and parking space. Furniture placement was well thought out and added quite a bit of character to the house. We were very comfortable throughout our stay in a very relaxing atmosphere. The train came by about three times a day at variable times. The kids enjoyed throwing snowballs into the coal cars as they went past. The view of the river and the mountains covered in snow was great to wake up to in the mornings. Will certainly be returning in the future.
Great place to get away for a quiet stay. Beautiful views of the water and especially at sunset. Lancaster is accessible for fun outings or activities.
Nice, scenic location and very comfortable. It had everything we needed. We hope to come back again!

About the host
Hosted by Brian Ament
I am always rejuvenated when I'm here at the river. I get a feeling of tranquility seeing the eagles and other wildlife in the area. I love being able to just jump on my boat ( any excuse is a good one ) and take a ride on the water. Let me tell you about the Safe Harbor Indian Petrogylphs and the local history and botany.
Why they chose this property
If you like getting away from it all, need to unwind or great place to play ~~ you found it! The best area for boating, from waterskiing to kayaking, or fishing. We are close enough if want to have a nice dinner & show. The Fulton Opera House, the American Music Theater, Sight & Sound and several movie theaters are only 1/2 hour drive. If you are new to the area, come discover Amish Country, antiquing in Columbia or experiencing the clock and watch museum.
What makes this property unique
The Lake's tranquility and all the other things it has to offer may be the reason why the Indians chose to live here. Check out Indian Steps Museum, The Conestoga Historical Society, Canal Lock 12, Tucquan Glenn Nature Preserve , relax ~~ fish, boat or hike.
