Lovely complex of 5 gites,10 acres - heated pool, games room, fishing lake.

Lovingly restored, this single-floor gîte has a large open plan kitchen, dining and living area, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. The lounge has a cozy corner sofa for relaxing in the evening, flat-screen TV offering French and English TV channels, a DVD player, and free Internet access. There are two bedrooms,( one super king bed and 3 singles), a bathroom, and a separate WC. Kitchen well equipped with full oven and cooker, large fridge, dishwasher etc
Enjoy a stunning view from the front door onto the gardens bordered by woodland. Barn owls and deer have often been seen from the shaded terrace which also offers outdoor seating and loungers, plus a barbecue for alfresco dining.
Lovely garden with woodland walks from the door. Loads of activities, heated 14mx6m pool, games room, bikes, football, basketball, boules, dressing up box, toys, books, and DVDs.
Private Fishing lake short walk from property, (No risk to children on site) Rods and tackle can be provided.
Part of a complex of 5 gites, each has its own separate and private garden area, but you can make new friends at the pool and games room. It is a large property with lots of different areas to explore, quiet corners to get away from it all, reading spots in the dappled shade of the surrounding wild woods. Large trampoline and several swings and kiddie-friendly games. Fun pizza evenings through summer using the restored log-fired bread oven. July and August only.
We are situated in the Northern Dordogne area of France, famous for its truffles and ducks. Halfway between the cities of Angouleme and Perigueux surrounded by beautiful rolling fields and woods
There are plenty of things to do in the local area such as canoeing, tree climbing, wine tours, chateau visits, markets, beach lakes, etc

Well equipped country gite in scenic countryside. Perfect for families.

Fantastic trip. Gite is well looked after, was clean and had all the necessities for a stay. The surrounding area is beautiful and the pool, play areas, trampoline and forest kept our kids entertained. The outside dinning area was excellent and got the sun till the end of the day. Will defiently return.

Calme, repos et cadre rustique

Excellent séjour (surclassé !) à la limite de la Charente et de la Dordogne. Les hôtes sont extrêmement accueillants et ont résolu sans délai un petit problème de lave vaisselle. Seul léger bémol, l’accessibilité à l’arrivée n’est pas évidente avec la seule adresse.

Excellent séjour dans le Périgord vert

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. La propriété est bien au calme, les gîtes très propres et très bien équipés. Nos enfants ont adoré tous les équipements disponibles (trampoline, jeux divers et variés, balançoires….). De plus, nos hôtes ont été charmants et très disponibles.

loin de tout

nous sommes venu hors saison, tout n'était pas encore près. Ce qui fait que nous n'avons donc pas pu profiter de tous les equipements decrit dans l'annonce et ceux disponnible étaient un peu vétuste. A notre arrivé le feu était allumé dans la cheminée. Le lieu est au calme et agréable à vivre, il y a un inconvénient quand même, il faut faire 15mn de route en voiture pour trouver une boulangerie.

Nous sommes désolés que vous n'ayez pas apprécié votre séjour. Il est vrai que vous êtes venu hors saison, notre piscine n'était pas ouverte (ouvre fin avril début mai avec l'arrivée du beau temps) et nous ne laissons pas les jeux extérieurs et les jouets pour enfants dehors pendant l'hiver. Donc le peu qui reste autour de la cabane et du bac à sable peut sembler vétuste. Nous aurions volontiers sorti notre vaste sélection de jouets d'extérieur si vous nous l'aviez mentionné. J'espère que vous avez apprécié la salle de jeux sur 2 étages avec billard, air hockey, baby-foot, box de déguisement, basket ball, vélos, tandem, pogo stick etc, sans oublier les lignes ninja et slack line dans les bois. Malheureusement, notre boulangerie à moins de 2 km était fermée lorsque vous êtes venu, en raison de la hausse des coûts énergétiques, mais elle a maintenant rouvert.

Nous avons passé une agréable semaine dans ce très beau domaine, où tout est fait pour le plaisir des enfants. Les aires de jeux, la salle de jeux, la piscine ainsi que les aménagements dans les bois et champs alentours sont très agréables. La piscine chauffée est très appréciable. A renouveler sans hésiter!

Logement ancien sympa, cuisine très bien équipée, lieu en pleine campagne au calme, literie agréable a revoir : il y fait très froid en hiver, il a fallu 2 jours complets pour réchauffer le logement (un seul poele à bois et un radiateur dans la chambre qui ne fonctionne que de 18h à 23h) le baby est de piètre qualité et il manquait 3 boules dans le billard dommage mais on s'est bien amusé au ping pong. les équipements sportifs sont OK exceptés le tapis de course qui est assez bas de gamme (beaucoup de bruit et bloqué à une pente de 1,5 %) pas grave, mais je le dis pour info. le wifi est de bonne qualité pour le reste on a passé une bonne semaine d'où 4 étoiles car bon rapport qualité prix.

Beautiful place to stay

This was a beautiful place to stay. We stayed in late October and arrived to a wonderful lit wood burning stove, so the house was really toasty and inviting. The kitchen was the best equipped I have stayed in which made cooking a joy. If your after peace and tranquility I recommend this place. Richard and Nicky was the perfect boasts. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Rural getaway with good facilities on site

There were 5 gites on site and we were in one of the 3 in one of the buildings. As it was the end of the season they weren't at full capacity so we can't say how restful or peaceful it would have been if all the gites had been occupied. We had booked La Valette but when we arrived the owner gave us Lidoire instead as it was vacant and had a more up to date kitchen. The accommodation was as advertised and there was a good handbook with information about the area as well as the site itself. The pool was good and secured as required by French law. As the weather turned on us a little bit in our second week we made use of the nicely equipped games room. The owners were usually to be seen around and about throughout most of the day so we could catch them when we needed to raise a couple of minor queries with them. There were a couple of small points which we hadn't picked up when we booked which could have been useful to know beforehand. The first of these was that the washing machines on site are not free to use and you need 2 euro pieces in order to feed the meter that controls the power to the machines. Secondly, we were there for 2 weeks and when we asked about a change of linen after the end of the first week there was mention of a small charge. As it turned out we weren't charged so we were grateful to the owners on this score. As said before, these were tiny queries and didn't in any way spoil the experience, it's just that if these were mentioned on the website or added to the information handbook in the property it would help prevent future queries. Overall we enjoyed our stay and were delighted with the quality of the accommodation.

Peaceful and comfortable cottage in the country

I stayed for 4 nights in June and enjoyed the stay. It is very rural and peaceful but everything there is needed for a gite. Richard was more than happy to help with anything as a host.
