Casa Karibu is a spacious, contemporary villa situated in the foothills of the Sierra de Mijas mountain range. The villa is surrounded by an acre of mature garden and is positioned in a peaceful, elevated location with stunning uninterrupted panoramic views of the countryside, mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.

Casa Karibu has been a family home for almost 40 years and has recently been completely renovated and re-decorated to a high standard.

The villa’s layout on two floors makes it an excellent choice for families, offering privacy and generous space. On the first floor and central within the villa, is a very large, open-plan, split-level, double lounge and dining area with a large terrace that extends the full front of the property. On this level there are two spacious double en-suite bedrooms (master bedroom with separate dressing room and french doors opening onto the terrace), a modern, well-equipped kitchen opening into the dining room, a children’s bedroom with bunk-beds sleeping 3, and a separate guest shower/wc. A further two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom and access to the garden, patio and pool area are located downstairs.

My parents bought Casa Karibu after we left Tanzania, East Africa. My brothers, Tom and Alex and I were all born in Arusha and, spent a very happy early childhood there. The family upped roots and moved to Spain in 1974, and Karibu became ‘home-base’ for us all as adult life took us across the globe. Tom and his family still call Tanzania their home, Alex and his family live in California and I, Cathy, live in the UK with my family. We are all spread out, however Spain remains a very permanent feature in all of our and our children’s lives. We love spending time here and hope that you will too!

Why they chose this property

Casa Karibu is an ideal family location. The uninterrupted views towards the sea and mountains are stunning, and on a clear day we can often see the Rock of Gibraltar and the Riff Mountains in northern Morocco. The peaceful rural surroundings make for a wonderfully relaxing holiday where the main sounds you will hear are bird song, crickets and, as long as he still exists, the tinkle of bells of the local goat herder's flock goats and sheep. Sitting on the terrace at night time the sky is ablaze with stars - every star gazers dream!

What makes this property unique

We are ideally located - close to the airport, not far from town, and yet sufficiently far away to enjoy the peace and quiet! Golf lovers are spoilt for choice with highly regarded and challenging courses within easy reach - the closest, Seve Ballesteros Alhaurin Golf, is 10 minutes drive away. Walkers can set off from the doorstep into the Sierra de Mijas, as can mountain bikers who enjoy the challenging steep inclines. Children are close to Tivoli, an amusement park in Benalmadena, the Aquapark in Fuengirola and, of course, the beaches are within 20 minutes drive. We have wonderful restaurants and nighttime entertainment all within easy reach. Its perfect!
