Our second visit. Convenient to Cashiers, Brevard and Gorges State Park. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch. WeLook forward to our next visit
We have stayed in many different places in the NC mountains. This was by far the best. Great layout very well equipped. We look forward to staying there again
This mountain home is even nicer than the pictures. It’s cozy but has plenty of room for family get together’s. The home has everything you need down to the little details. We stayed for Christmas and were so happy when we arrived to see the house had been decorated! Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay.
Very peaceful, tucked in the forest, yet close enough to town. There is even a small waterfall at the driveway. Everything you will need is provided, as far as kitchen supplies, bathroom towels etc. Very cozy, we enjoyed our stay.
The house is located in a beautiful setting about 15 minutes drive from Lake Toxaway. We loved the different patio areas as well as the really well stocked kitchen as we cooked at home most night. The beds and bed rooms were all very comfortable. It was a wonderful location for our family get together.
Wow and wonderful! This house was the perfect location for us to celebrate Thanksgiving! The owners of this property have thought of everything that you might possibly need or want. It is a great location -right in between Brevard and Cashiers! The owners were very communicative and checked in with us just to make sure that we were good! We will be back for sure!
We loved our family stay at this mountain home. Everything we needed was provided and plenty more. Rent this place for your family vacation. You will not regret it. Thanks for providing the background for our family memories.
We couldn’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year! This home has everything you could possibly need. It’s even more beautiful in person. Everette communicated well with us and even offered some recommendations of things to do around town. Thank you so much and we look forward to returning some day soon!
Two complaints: I cannot give 6 stars and we couldn't take the whole house home!
Seriously, this is a gorgeous property and is the best equipped vacation home we have ever stayed in. Every kitchen appliance, gadget, spice, dish and glass you can think of is there.
Absolutely immaculate, comfortable furniture and great communication throughout. A total joy!
Our family of 5 adults and 1 infant had the best Thanksgiving at this house tucked in the mountains. We described it as “the best mountain house we’ve had yet!”
When the listing says the kitchen is “well-appointed,” it truly means it. Lots of pot/pan/dish options for cooking at home. The beds were quite comfortable and, most importantly, the house was very clean.
We enjoyed being tucked away in the neighborhood, away from traffic and noise, but driving into Brevard, Cashiers, or to one of the hiking trails only takes 25-30 minutes.
We hope to stay again sometime and enjoy the screened porch and outdoor dining.
I have been renting cabins for 20+ years. This was the best! Clean, spacious cabin that is well appointed for all your needs. The host was very responsive and gracious. There were so many things at this cabin that made our stay smooth and more enjoyable. There were easy to follow instructions for everything and everything was labeled, such as light switches, ceiling fans, etc. The property was beautiful and we had an opportunity to relax and reconnect with our family. We loved this cabin! Thank you!
Our family of 5 and a small dog stayed in this secluded getaway. We loved that the property truly felt like a home away from home with most essentials needed right there. The hosts of this property really thought about everything someone may need and want to make their stay comfortable. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the outside screened in patio the most! We wanted to use the fire pit, but you can tell it’s been sitting for quite some time and had algae/slimy texture, so we opted not to use it. It’s also a little drive into town to get to the nearest grocery store, but that was somewhat expected considering the location. Honestly, this place is truly wonderful and accommodating and a true getaway from a busy lifestyle. My family would most definitely stay here again and recommend it to other families as well!
We rented this house for three weeks to escape the heat of Florida. It by far exceeded our expectations. The house is situated in a very private neighborhood in a lovely landscaped yard. Our family availed of the fire pit for making s’mores on several occasions. Waking up in 60 degree weather and having coffee on the back porch listening to the birds was a real treat. The house was spotless and was nicely furnished with comfortable beds and fully stocked kitchen. The owners were very responsive to any questions and concerns we had. My kids spent every afternoon swimming and tubing in The private neighborhood lake. And Brevard, 30 minutes up the road, offers Countless outdoor pursuits in one of the most beautiful areas of N.C. Don’t Miss the schoolhouse falls hike only 15 minutes from the house.
Only downfalls: the WiFi is a little weak, it worked fine for basic web surfing but was not strong enough to use for work video conferencing if this is a necessity for your stay (it was not for us). It is a drive to the nearest grocery store in Brevard so make sure you stock up when you are in town.
Overall I highly recommend the house, the neighborhood and this area of N.C. for one’s vacation. The owner was a pleasure to work with. Now we just need to find a time to make it up there again.

Thanks for the review. We agree with you that the speed of the DSL (10MBPS) is too slow. Our HOA is working with the North Carolina IT Department in an attempt to aquire funding for improved service.
The property was a perfect size for us - and the holiday decorations were gorgeous. The house had everything we could have needed and was sparkling clean. The location is beautiful, and had it not been so darn cold outside we would have hiked more. As it was, we did get out a bit and enjoyed tubing and hiking to Sunset Rock - breathtaking. We would definitely stay there again. Very comfortable and extremely well appointed.
The Indian Lake rental was very well equipped for a Thanksgiving dinner prep and comfort for a large family. We had a memorable holiday together. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Bedenbaugh for your kind hospitality.
We spent two weeks in this beautiful mountain home. We loved the screened porch! The house is well decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is completely stocked for cooking. It was easy to get to the house and we enjoyed the Lake Toxaway area. Brevard is a great place for shopping and dining. The owners were in communication with us before and during our stay. It was one of our favorite houses we’ve stayed in the mountains. We plan to return for another visit!

We are a retired couple who love adventure and people. Married for 46 years we honeymooned at Sugar Mountain, N.C. and learned to snow ski. And, we are still skiing! We live full time on a lake in South Carolina, and have fulfilled our dream of having a cool, quiet place in the Western North Carolina Mountains.
Why they chose this property
We love hiking area parks, riding and picnicking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, all the great restaurants and friends we have discovered here and then come back to our Lake Toxaway home and sleep with the windows open at night while the cool mountain air drifts through the house. When we were house hunting, we wanted a home that was private but in a secure neighborhood where friends like to gather and really care for each other.
What makes this property unique
The very first time we came up the driveway, our eyes caught sight of the charming 'tree cutouts' on the shutters and the outdoor space ideal for gathering around a fire. Then inside the 'tree cutouts' were repeated on the staircase to the loft, the high ceilings and wood beams told us that a master carpenter had worked his magic here. It was important that we have plenty of room for family, friends and guests for entertaining both indoors and outdoors.
