Bakers Retreat, a spacious 1st floor home in the center of Grasmere, walks from the door

Situated in the centre of the Lake Districts most popular village, Grasmere, Bakers Retreat is perfect for a family holiday at any time of year. Converted from, as the name suggests, the old bakery, the property has been updated with all modern comforts, including en-suites in each bedroom. A few minutes walk brings you to the shops, restaurants, pubs and the lake.

Grasmere is ideally based to explore the Lake District with Ambleside a short drive south with Bowness and Windermere beyond and Keswick a short drive to the north. Surrounded by mountains it is perfect for walkers wanting to explore and look down on the stunning scenery from the top, or for those looking for gentler walks, there are a number of low level walks to be enjoyed including Grasmere Lake. The village has a number of art galleries including, tea rooms, convenience store and gift shops.

The large dining/lounge with picture windows and open views towards Helm Crag is perfect for enjoying time together, comfy sofas are set around the TV and the large dining table is perfect for enjoying a home cooked meal together. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a sumptuous meal with electric oven/hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and island breakfast table. Double bedroom with king size bed and twin bedrooms both with en-suite shower room, hand basin and WC.

We provide all gas, electric and bed linen. There are 2 parking permits for a nearby car park provided. A cot and highchair are available. There is Wi-Fi throughout the cottage.
