About the host
Hosted by Sytske
Hello, I am Sytske.
I have watched the Tiny House programme a lot, and loved the concept. No clutter, just essentials and a cosy house. Affordable I hoped, years I have done waitressing and cleaned cottages to save up for buying building materials.
Last year my dad and I started to built my Puffin Tiny-House! Very exciting:)
We have laid the founds, well first put in sewerage, electricity and water and insulated the floor and built it up, segment by segment and layer by layer. I learned a lot of building skills using the electric saws, nail-guns, level and lots of other stuff. The house is well insulated.
In winter we found a lot of driftwood on the beach which we put in as beautiful features. Mum is an artist and painted puffins on the walls as these cute birds are my favourite. We have seen them a lot. I was so lucky to spend my childhood here at Harris, going to Leverhulme Primary School and Sir E.Scott Secondary school at Tarbert. I love to fish, was in the Army Cadets and did a lot of outdoors sports and learned to play the accordion. So here is my own tiny house and it became my Project to finance my long study at Aberdeen University. My house was built, with love and dreams, I love it and I hope you love it! Have a great time at Harris!! If you have any questions, please ask. Sytske
