Good place to use as a base for daily travels around the area. Nice property, kitchen very well equipped, sitting area large and appropriately equipped. Bedroom with ensuite had a double bed and although comfortable, rather small for two adults. Overall, a lovely quiet place to unwind after a busy day exploring.
A good-size apartment with comfortable beds/bedding/towels, large comfortable sofa, and well-stocked kitchen. Heat, internet, TV worked well. Fridge is under-the-counter size and there’s also a freezer of same size. It’s on a working farm in a collection of other cottages and you can ask to visit the animals, which was fun. Picnic tables, car parking, small gravelled area immediately outside front door. It’s a quiet location. Hosts had put up a Christmas tree as it was just after, which was lovely. It’s a good location for western Moors, eastern Dales, Howardian Hills, and York. (Our only issues were that hot water didn’t work for one children’s bath time and the taps are difficult to close/stop dripping.) A very enjoyable holiday all round!
Wonderful. Great communication via email. Owner came to say hello and check all well on first day. Immaculately clean. Beautifully decorated for Christmas with a lovely complimentary hamper. Amazing countryside and walks. Working farm with opportunity to feed animals. All children and adults absolutely loved it. Nothing could have been done better. Perfect.
A delightful converted farm building in an extremely peaceful spot on the edge of a village, very well appointed and suitably equipped for up to 6 people. Extremely clean on arrival, thank you. It is an upside-down property, so the privacy blinds on bedroom windows are helpful in blocking the view from the car parking area (shared with other adjoining cottages). There is a generous amount of crockery, glasses and cutlery provided so you're not having to wash up after every meal. The under counter fridge is rather small and awkward to use - a larger freestanding fridge/freezer would be a more usable option, but that is really the only negative.
Lovely cottage based on working farm. Close to Thirsk. Friendly owner. Clean and modern. We will be back as soon as possible.
