The house was fantastic, perfect for our family of five! It was immaculately clean, and we were grateful to have the bikes to get to the train station.
We stayed here for our family trip to the Dutch GP. Really nice house, spacious and clean. Host easily contactable and provided lots of information. Really convenient location for getting to the F1 and Haarlem is a lovely city. Thank you for a great stay!
The house is in a wonderful location and was clean and well appointed. Our host was helpful and responsive to messages, and provided a ton of very helpful information that really improved our visit. We enjoyed the layout of the house and found everything we needed to cook, wash clothes, and otherwise make ourselves at home. We used two of the bikes (renting a third smaller one for our son), which we really enjoyed and appreciated. We liked the home very much and would happily stay here again.A note: unlike many vacation rentals, this is clearly the primary home of the owner. This was clear from the pictures before we booked, so we were not surprised. It does give one the feeling of living in someone else's home, rather than staying in a dedicated rental. We did not have any concerns with this– indeed, it felt welcoming.
We enjoyed the unbelievable quietness within the town, that we never experienced in Germany. The house was clean, offered enough space for all the four of us and had a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere and beautiful style.
We found everything we needed, even bikes, what avoided high costs for the ways inside the town,to the nature around and the beach. The communication with the owners was very nice and reliable.
The town is very recommendable for families, who don't want to have too many tourists around and nevertheless want to enjoy beautiful architecture, water and nature and for all bikelovers.
Thank you for our great holidays in Haarlem.
SEA and the beautiful Nature around
Perfect location for an extended stay in Amsterdam and beyond
Staying in Haarlem was the best decision. We stayed 5 days and the location allowed us to go to Amsterdam two days (15 min train ride) to see the museums and highlights, but then escape the crowds to retire to this very family friendly neighborhood of Haarlem, itself a little gem. We enjoyed Harlem’s center and the proximity to the sea and dunes/lakes. It was the perfect balance of culture/museums and outdoors fun for everyone. Dorine was a wonderful host, providing tips on what to do with teens in and around Haarlem. The house is beautiful, decorated with taste and great for a family of 4, allowing the kids to have their own floor upstairs. Well equipped, we were able to cook many meals. Highly recommend! Thank you Dorine and family for letting us enjoy your wonderful home.
A delightful, light-filled house in a charming neighborhood
My sister-in-law and I rented Dorine's house for a Haarlem / Amsterdam getaway with my two nieces (aged 16 and 19). The property looked wonderful on the site, and was even better, I would say, in real life. The house was full of light, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with a really sweet little garden / patio in the back. Communication with Dorine was very easy, and she gave great suggestions for the neighborhood and sites close to Haarlem including bicycling and restaurant tips, in addition to explaining all the appliances etc. We liked the house so much, we were sad we hadn’t rented it for longer when we left to move into Amsterdam! Note: it is a given in the Netherlands, I think, but note that the stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep. That wasn’t a problem for us, but those with mobility issues would need to take care. Also, if you get lazy like us, the #2 bus from the station will get you quite close - and back, as well as into downtown Haarlem easily. We usually walked but were happy to have the bus a couple of times. We cooked in three nights, and the kitchen worked well for us, and we loved having the dining table right there. There are three grocery stores, one super close, and the other two not much further. The appliances, pots and pans etc were in great shape, and you had every spice or oil you might need.Just to sum up, this was a lovely home that we feel privileged to have stayed in for a few days !
Traumhafte Familien-Wohlfühlunterkunft in toller Lage

We love to live in Haarlem. It is a very nice city with a lot of nice small shops and good quality restaurants. Our house is in a child friendly neighborhood, close to the station, the city and the beach
What makes this property unique
Our house has lots of character with nice details from the building period (the house was build around 1900). Our home offers a lot of space and a sunny, private garden.
