We enjoyed our 4 day golf trip to the Okanagan in June. Canoe was an excellent place for our headquarters! This property is very clean including 4 separate bedrooms.
We had a lovely stay. The house was immaculate, the beds were comfy, . The location was in a nice quiet neighbourhood with friendly neighbors,I must say. The Host answered all our questions and more and made everything easy. The host of made everything so easy and assessable to find in the house, spices, towels , dishes, pots, and pans.We were five women and there was a room for each of us so that was super awesome. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Ramona for hosting us.

Thank you so much for your kind review! It was truly a pleasure hosting you and your group.
Thank you for being such wonderful guests. I greatly appreciate your thoughtful feedback and would be thrilled to welcome you back anytime. Safe travels, and I hope to host you again in the future!
The house is beautifully setup and many bedrooms. Our family has stayed the last 2 years, absolutely our favorite destination. Has everything you need, like towels, beach chairs, bedding, board games. Ramona is is a perfect host, essy to get ahold of if needed.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The property was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The host was incredibly thoughtful, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would 100% stay here again.
A group of six (6) cyclists (from Edmonton) stayed here for 6 days in May/June 2026.The accommodation is almost perfect for this type of trip. I say 'almost' as there is no secure storage for bicycles outside of the house. As such, we either left our bikes inside the vehicle or we brought the bikes inside the house just before retiring each evening. This was a very minor inconvenience but would not prevent us from returning in the future. The 2 story house is very comfortable - plenty of room to relax and unwind, the bedrooms allow for privacy and ample space for clothing storage, plenty of hot water for showering, a well stocked kitchen - with fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher) and open concept main floor for socializing. Plenty of parking and Secure Wifi is also a plus. We also used the barbecue, located just off the kitchen patio.Close to grocery store and restaurant in Canoe and 5-10 minute drive to Salmon Arm.The host responded promptly to any questions we had.
Very impressed with the property and how clean and stocked everything was I don't think I've ever seen a spice drawer that full with options. The beds were amazing very comfortable , the main floor has the kitchen dining room and TV area with access to the bach yard. located in a very nnice neighborhood close to the beach

Would stay again
The house was well kept and very convenient for the purpose of our stay. Ramona was very easy to communicate with and flexible.
Our family was very comfortable in this well appointed home. From the furnishings to the beds and the well equipped kitchen, we felt right at home. Best rental we’ve stayed at yet!
A wonderful experience staying at Ramona’s place. It is impeccably clean and very well stocked. Tons of space for our group of 5 adults and 1 child. Check-in was easy and the check out ‘ask’ is very reasonable.
Thanks for having us! We’ll be back.
We had a fantastic time in Canoe and the property was perfect. Ramona was great and gave us load of information for our stay. We plan to go back each summer all being well. House was big and spacious with everything you need and more. We hav nothing bad to say about any of our time there
The house was just as advertised. It was very clean. Included everything you needed including a BQ which was great. The kids played upstairs while the adults were downstairs. Situated close to beach and shopping.
It was a great house for a group of guys to base out of for golfing in the area. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with everything you need. Lots of space to relax and enough beds for all. All the guys were very happy with the stay. The only upgrade to have would be a newer BBQ, but that's minor. We will book again if our annual trip takes us back in the area. Thanks for letting us stay

Glad you enjoyed your stay in the beautiful Shuswap! As per your suggestion, we have purchased a new barbeque! We strive to provide a pleasurable experience and appreciate the feedback.
A pleasure from the start. The home has 4 bedrooms, a large upper rec room and classic L shaped LR/DR/Kitchen for 4 couples on a golf trip. Plenty of dishes, pots, pans, and fresh towels in each bathroom. The hot water booster is a bonus so no one runs short in the shower. We will stay again. Thanks

Nice clean house
The house worked perfectly for our whole family; parents, kids and grandkids. Generally clean and easy to find. Lots of parking in front. Ramona was easy to deal with and very helpful. Only suggestion I would make is to change check-out time to later. Getting everyone up, showered and having to wash all the towels before we left by 10:00 a.m. was difficult. Perhaps make check out 11:00 or even 12:00 noon and then make check-in 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. as done at most hotels. (Maybe having a second set of towels to switch over each time?) Gives more time for people to get packed up in the morning and also would give enough time for cleaning in-between bookings. Thanks Ramona!

Thank you for the suggestions. I used to have later check in times and then found so many people wanted to get here earlier hence the sooner check out time. I think I will do a survey of previous renters to see if I get a consensus one way or the other. Regardless, I will get a second set of towels! Thank you for your review and for choosing us!
We had wonderful time at the property. The house is very spacious with 4 bedrooms upstairs as well as a large family room upstairs. It was just our family of 4, but 2 families could easily stay here and it would not feel over crowded. The house was larger that it looked in the ad. One the first floor there is a nice living room and kitchen (with lots of seating) that is equipped with everything you may need. The owner has clearly thought of every detail that would make this a home away from home. There is a small library with books and movies of all kinds. My kids enjoyed reading some of the children's books before bedtime. The house is very close to Canoe Beach which is a very large beautiful public beach. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and just a short drive to Salmon Arm. We brought our own beach chairs, etc., however next time I wouldn't bother. She has everything you would need for the beach including many beach towels, beach chairs and beach umbrella. Originally, we were looking to stay in Salmon Arm and I wasn't sure about staying in Canoe (only 10 mins from Salmon Arm), however Canoe was actually a better location since it was so close to a large public beach. I would definitely stay here again!
We just finished our vacation at Ramona's in Canoe, BC and we were very happy with her rental. It was clean and had a very nice beach decor. We have never stayed at a VRBO that was so well equipped! She has everything you could ever need - tons of towels and beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas for days at the beach and a kitchen with all you could ever need. There were spices, and I'm talking lots of them, food wrap, tin foil, garbage bags etc. She also has several small appliances like a blender, crock pot, and a ninja cooking unit. Her place is a 4 minute drive to Canoe Beach and a very quick drive to Salmon Arm. Our sons enjoyed golfing at all of the different courses in the area. We also enjoyed happy hour at Canooligans which is a 1 or 2 minute drive. Across the street from Canooligans is the Canoe Village Market that also carries a great selection of beer, wine and liquor in addition to a pretty good selection of food. Ramona was great to deal with and had alot of information available on things to do in the area. We had a great vacation! Thanks Ramona!! We might see you next year!!!

It sounds like you made the most of your time in the area—from Canoe Beach and the golf courses to Canooligans and the Canoe Village Market. I'm happy the local information helped you discover some of our favorite spots.
Thank you for being such wonderful guests. It was a pleasure hosting you, and I would be delighted to welcome you and your family back anytime. Hopefully we'll see you next year!
The house was very clean, very well stocked with everything we needed. Central Airco would have been nice, but we made due. Highly recommend this house. Close to the beautiful Canoe Beach.

About the host
Hosted by Ramona Makela
I love travelling, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures. I grew up in Saskatchewan and moved to the beautiful Shuswap over 35 years ago. I enjoy the hot summers, mild winters, and the strong sense of community the area offers.
After working at the Salmon Arm Visitor Centre for six years, I’ve built extensive knowledge of the region, including local attractions, activities, and hidden gems. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have and help you make the most of your stay.
I look forward to helping you feel right at home!
Why they chose this property
In 2002, we decided to subdivide our lot and build this home to accommodate our growing family. We’ve loved being so close to the lake and mountains, with year-round activities including swimming, boating, kayaking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and two downhill ski resorts all within an hour’s drive. The area also offers a rich variety of arts, music, and cultural experiences. Raising our children in Canoe has been truly special, where there’s still a strong sense of community and neighbours look out for one another.
What makes this property unique
Canoe is conveniently located halfway between Calgary and Vancouver. It is home to the only public swimming beach in the immediate Salmon Arm area, and with its hot summers and mild winters, it’s an ideal destination for a relaxing vacation year-round.
