Colombine is a wheelchair-friendly, single-storey holiday villa with a private heated pool and garden, set in peaceful countryside near Bordeaux, Bergerac and Saint-Émilion, in southwest France.
Located near the Dordogne border, in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, Colombine is a calm rural retreat—perfect for guests seeking space, comfort, and privacy.
The villa dates back over 160 years and appears on the Plan Napoléon. Much of its original character has been carefully preserved, including exposed stone walls and traditional features. The former barn now forms a bright, open dining space with large sliding windows, while the kitchen sits in what was once the prune-drying room.
All accommodation is on one level with step-free access throughout. While not purpose-built, the villa has been thoughtfully arranged to suit wheelchair users and guests with reduced mobility.

Kitchen equipment includes: Fridge-freezer, oven, grill, Dishwasher, microwave, Ninja multi-cooker, Kettle, pod espresso machine, and filter coffee machine.
A separate laundry room has a washing machine.
The cosy lounge is centred around the original fireplace and includes comfortable seating, a Smart TV with English & French channels, a DVD player, and fast fibre Wi-Fi.
Outside & pool: The garden surrounds the villa on three sides, with open farmland beyond the fourth. A gently sloping path leads from the terrace to the pool. Children will enjoy the swing at the far end of the garden, and there is also a covered area with a table tennis table.
The private heated pool measures approximately 10m x 5m, with walk-in steps and a handrail, sun loungers, parasols, a pool alarm, and graduated depths from 90cm to 1.8m.

Locally in the area: Duras centre is 8km away, and the nearest supermarket at Duras is 7km away through country roads. The ancient town of Duras, where there are bars, restaurants, banks and shops, as well as a traditional weekly market every Monday morning and a bustling night market every Thursday in the height of the summer months. Allemans du Dropt (6km) has a restaurant, bar, baker's, and butcher. Many more towns and villages to explore locally.
The nearest restaurant is at Auriac sur Dropt 2.7km away or a 30-minute walk down a country lane Le Camelia Restaurant. This now has new owners (winter 2025), and we are unsure whether they will keep the restaurant open or what will happen to it.
Monsegur (17km) and Duras (8km) are ancient Bastide towns set around a market square, which host weekly markets and a weekly night market during the peak summer season. There is a good selection of shops, including cafes, bars, and a pizzeria that hosts weekly live music.
There is also Cinema Eden in Monsegur, which shows international films in their original-language versions (VO) and a selection of English-language films with French subtitles.
The market squares also host many festivals and events throughout the year.

The gently shelving sand provides a fun environment for splashing and cooling off in the summer sun. Aqua Park is 33km away and is located near Bergerac. Beach, canoeing and a water park. Chocolate: Yes, we believe chocolate is also an activity… we often have to visit and ensure the quality meets the standard, so we can continue to recommend it.
Maison Guinguet Gourmet Chocolate has a lovely shop next to its artisan factory. 2km from Duras.
Tree adventure and climbing park: Just 16km away, climbing through the trees and zip wire, fun for all the family and includes a snack bar.
