Introduction

Casa Calandra is a beautifully architecturally designed modern 4 bedroomed, 3 bathroom villa located midway between the lovely historic towns of Ostuni and Cisternino the hills af the Valle d' Itria. A fantastic private swimming pool and gardens which overlook the extensive private grounds of terraced drystone walls and olive trees falling away from its hilltop setting with its views across the valleys beyond. A beautiful stunning house which accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 double bedrooms, with an additional sofa bed increasing sleeping capacity to 10.

You will arrive at Casa Calandra with access through the grand entrance into the upper floor. Here you will find a spacious open plan living area which provides the lounge, dining room, and kitchen. Sliding floor to ceiling folding french doors lead onto the terrace which wraps around the whole of this floor The house is very well equipped with everything guests may need; from the kitchen utensils, crockery, books, DVD's and games. All linens are provided including bath towels, bath mats, hand towels and beach towels. A welcome pack is provided for arrival which includes basic food items, milk, tea coffee and wine. The house is centrally heated together with a wood burning stove in the living area for the cooler months, Roof mounted solar panels provide hot water.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

There are 4 Bedrooms; two located on the upper floor accessed through a stone archway adjacent to the entrance; one with a king sized bed and the second with large bunk beds which can easily accommodate adults as well as children. They both have built in wardrobes. There is a shared bathroom provided for these two bedrooms. Turn right out of the bedrooms to a staircase which leads to the lower floor where two further large well-appointed extremely spacious bedrooms are located both having the benefit of en-suite bathrooms where you will find shower, toilet, bidet, vanity top basin, with one of the bathrooms also providing a full-sized bath.

These 2 bedrooms have large walk-in wardrobes and have full height patio doors which let in fantastic light, and provide access to the adjacent private pool and a further dining terrace with views to the hills beyond.
At this lower level is also located a Utility Room with a washing machine large sink, ironing board, hair dryer and a drying rack to take advantage of the huge capacity hot water cylinder

Puglia - Surrounding Countryside:

Our villa is ideally situated for easy exploration of Puglia, and the countryside of the Valle d'Itria with easy access to other beautiful hill towns/villages of Martina Franca, Ceglie Messapica and Locorotondo which are only a short drive away. The World UNESCO site of Alberobello is only a 35 km drive through the rolling countryside of the Apulian hills.

Beaches

The coast is only 30 minute drive away where there are are numerous sandy beaches and beach combing opportunities to discover; from unspoilt white sand stretches to secluded coves; many with lido facilities of loungers, parasols and shaded parking together with restaurants beach bars, and clubs. Here's a sampling: Lido Bizzaro, Torre Canne, Torre Guaceto, Villanova, Torre Pozella, Costa Merlata, Pilone, Boscoe Verde.

Villa perfecta

Situada cerca de Ostuni esta villa ha cumplido todos nuestros requisitos con habitaciones espaciosas ,piscina y muy tranquila.Destacar la amabilidad de Annie que ha hecho que nuestra estancia sea perfecta.Para acceder a la casa se pasa por un caminito de tierra estrecho si conduces una furgoneta de 8 plazas es difícil pero no imposible.Al estar en medio de la naturaleza hay mosquitos .Faltaria aire acondicionado en el comedor/cocina pq en las habitaciones si que hay.

Moderne ruime vakantiewoning

Op heuvel gelegen moderne villa met mooi gelegen zwembad. Pad naar villa is zeer smal en daardoor voor meeste autorijders zeer avontuurlijk. Annie de house manager is zeer hulpvaardig. Villa ligt dicht bij Ostuni voor restaurants, boodschappen en goede koffie.

Tolles Haus!

Wir (sieben Personen) sind mit zwei Tagen Verspätung aufgrund eines Streiks der italienischen Fluglotsen angekommen und wurden herzlich von Annie empfangen. Das Haus ist top eingerichtet, liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend und ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge. Wir waren in Monopoli, Bari, Cisternino ( montags ist dort ein regionaler Markt), Lecce, am Ionischen Meer und in Matera (sehr zu empfehlen). Auch den Pool am Haus haben wir noch genutzt. Wir möchten Annie nochmals danken für Ihre vielen nützlichen Informationen. Sie war eine tolle Gastgeberin!

Lovely villa in Puglia located in the countryside among the hill towns of the Valle d’Itria

Casa Calandra more than lived up to our expectations - the photos don't do it justice! Annie the house manager made us so welcome and spent a lot of time explaining everything to make us feel at home and was immediately available to answer our queries and with tips about the locality etc. On the warmer sunny days we so much enjoyed alfresco lunchtime dining on the terrace beautifully located beside the open plan living and dining area with its view of the lovely hills and woods beyond - all made easy by the comprehensive range of high quality cooking equipment available. Ostuni, the nearest town with its amazing ‘centro storico’, supermarkets, shops restaurants and bars was only a 10 minute drive away. Other nearby historic and equally delightful towns located on the hills of the Itria Valley were also very accessible where we enjoyed a couple of wonderful meals in restaurants tucked away behind the walls of the historic centres of Celie Messapica and Martina Franca The coast with its lovely sandy beaches is only a short 20 minute drive away so we were able to take advantage of a warmer day to enjoy a picnic with a glass of the superb local red wine nettling in among the sand dunes close to a seaside nature reserve. We are really looking forward to further stay in the summer when we will be able to indulge in more intensive sun bathing not only beside the clear Adriatic Sea but at the villa and swimming in the beautiful pool with its delightfully planted setting above the terraces of olive trees, almond trees and ancient dry stone walls. The accommodation and facilities worked perfectly for us but would also work well for different combinations of couples, families and generations and we have no hesitation in recommending Casa Calandra to anyone wanting to spend a holiday in this unique region of Italy.

A beautiful modern spacious villa with every modern amenity. Great space for a family the design doesnt make two people feel lost in the space either.
Very private and feels secluded but only minutes drive to either Ostuni, Cisternino and Villa Castelli.
