Beautiful Victorian cottage in Ashtead easy access to London set in countryside
A beautifully refurbished Victorian property in the desired south side of Ashtead village at the foot of Epsom Downs, set beautiful countryside. The property sleeps a maximum of five guests and comprises one master double bedroom, one twin bedroom and one single bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen and cloakroom. Overlooking private paddocks in a rural setting, the property has a private garden and off-street parking for multiple cars.
This quaint property is furnished with everything you need for your stay. With the restored Victorian features sitting alongside modern-day luxury, tastefully decorated with a host of quality, stylish touches, it’s an ideal holiday home.
All upper floors are fitted with carpet. Bedrooms come equipped with either king size (master bedroom) or single beds (twin and single bedrooms) with towels and linen included and hotel-grade quality mattresses. The master and twin bedrooms are situated on the first floor, with the single room on the second. Single and twin rooms both have original ornamental Victorian fireplaces and all bedrooms have black-out roman blinds.
The bathroom boasts a double walk-in power-shower, pedestal sink and heated towel rail with tiled floor.
On the ground floor is a comfortable lounge with two sofas, a digital TV with Freeview channels, coffee table and ornamental open fireplace. Free Wi-Fi is provided for all your internet needs. The dining room has a table and chairs for all guests and an ornamental fireplace, with wood floors throughout extending from the living room through to the kitchen.
The kitchen is fully fitted with a dishwasher, full-height fridge freezer, toaster, kettle, single oven with extractor hood, induction hob and washing machine. All crockery and cutlery is provided along with cooking essentials, pots and pans, glassware etc.
The under stairs cupboard houses an ironing board, iron and clothes dryer for your use should you require it.
There is a cloakroom adjacent to the kitchen, off the back door lobby. The property has full gas central heating and is double glazed throughout.
The immediate vicinity
The property is within walking distance of the main High Street which has a good variety of convenience shops, barbers, post office, dry cleaners, bakery, butchers, coffee shops, a gift shop, a Marks and Spencer Food Hall and two pubs. Bus links to outlying local areas are available here.
The house is 1.6 miles from the mainline train station with regular trains into London Waterloo and Victoria and out to Guildford. Direct trains to London Waterloo and London Victoria run approximately every 15 minutes and take around 40 minutes. Wimbledon, home to the famous tennis tournament is accessible by direct train in 25 minutes.
Located near to the M25 junction 9, the property is ideally situated for quick and easy access to Gatwick and Heathrow airports which are located within half an hour’s drive of the property, and provides convenient access to many other local attractions.
Just a five-minute drive will take you to the renowned Epsom Downs with its racecourse and Queen’s Stand and views over London.
A short 10-minute drive away is the market town of Dorking which is home to Denby’s vineyard and Box Hill for breath-taking walks or cycle rides along the renowned Olympic route.

Lovely, comfortable property with plenty of room in a great location. Very convenient for trains to London, local shops, pubs and restaurants. We made use of many of the local amenities. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook. The hosts made us so welcome and were very responsive when we had questions. Thank you for a great stay!
Brilliant and easy! Sarah looked after us meticulously from start to finish. Local ‘cook’ and M&S food hall just down the road made cooking super easy along with a very well stocked kitchen at the cottage. We will definitely book again for family to stay. Cant recommend enough. Thanks again Sarah and Greg!
My family and I had a wonderful time staying at the cottage. Comfortable beds, hot showers and a lovely location with a short drive to some wonderful country pubs and stately homes and gardens to explore too!

We stayed here as a Christmas get together with our two adult children. The accommodation was exactly as described and was perfect for our needs. Fantastic location, very clean property and very well equipped. Check in was easy and the owners were very helpful.
We received a very warm welcome from Sarah on arrival. The cottage was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean throughout. The beds were comfortable and our children especially loved the attic bedroom. The cottage is well located for lots of local attractions: we visited RHS Wisley, Box Hill and Hampton Court Palace. Lovely property, renovated to a high end. Easy commute into London center or the surrounding area of Surry. Hosts were great too, available if we had any queries or issues (none!). Would certainly stay again!
Beautiful property which allowed us to spend quality time with our relatives. Everything you need is in The property and it is really close to shops and train stations. There is also ample parking. The hosts were great and accommodating. The property was spotless and comfortable. It has a wonderful spacious back yard and is pretty secluded . We travelled wiith children so it was great for them to play outside with their visiting cousins… and spend time with grandad. Thank you both for being so accommodating.

Beautiful cottage close to M25 so easy access to everywhere. Exceptionally nice hosts, friendly and attentive. Very clean with everything we needed. Great big garden, lovely to sit in as the sun went down.
We had a wonderful stay at Sarah and Greg’s property. They were incredibly responsive to all our questions, the home is very clean, well furnished and appointed for all your cooking needs. Ashtead was a great jumping off point for us to revisit many of our old haunts in Surrey, Sussex and Kent. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for such a wonderful time!
We had a great stay in this lovely cottage which was laid out very nicely with a separate kitchen, dining and living room. It was also a very short drive to a train station with parking which made getting to and from London very easy.
Avenue Cottage was a great find for our family group. Nearby Ashstead Village had lovely shops and eating places. Access to the M25 was just minutes away. The owners were friendly and responded very quickly to us.

Easy access to various tourist destinations in surrounding area like Polesdon Lacey, Box Hill. Painshill Park and Claremont gardens as well as Wisley.

Avenue Cottage was a very pleasant stay in Surrey. Sarah was very helpful and communicative.
