Fantastic time! Far eniugh away from the road to have a real rural feel, but close enough to Toby's Carvery, Monk's Cross, or a 10 minute drive/taxi into York centre. Perfect for a weekend away with friends or family. The owner, John, was very welcoming and then left us to enjoy the rest of our stay. Cutlery, pots, dishes to cook with and even beakers for young children.

Cottage was nice.
Cottage was nice. In a lovely location but you do need a car to get around. Bus service into York is limite And taxi cost £15. For me the cottage has promise. The games room and Jacuzzi area are very outdated and just need tlc. The pool table is too big for the space, there are no darts and you can't get around the air hockey table. In the cottage, The bed mattresses need replacing and there is no information about services like taxis, takeaways or nearby services. The lovely big playing field needs new football nets, balls and outdoor games. For me, it was a shame, the place has so much potential. We enjoyed our week but I have paid less for better facilities.

A great place to stay and ideally located for the City of York and the surrounding areas.
A great place to stay and ideally located for the City of York and the surrounding areas. The property is huge, very cosy and welcoming. It's one of those rare places that makes me think "I wish that this was my house" as soon as I walked into it. Yes it's a little worn here and there but in the overall scheme of things these little areas can be ignored. The owner, who lives on site, warmly welcomed us with a tour of the cottage and the other facilities available at the location. The "welcome package" was also a nice touch. So, if you want a cosy, comfortable place to stay close to York to make travelling no problem but far enough away to be relaxing then this is for you.
