The property was keeping with the period with basic furnishings and items. Beautiful scenic views with the cottage set in a hill.
Our only concern was the fact that it is a dog friendly holiday home and some of us were bitten by fleas. There may have been a mouse or rat living in there as some of us heard them in the night.
Overall it was a good location and you must expect to live with the wildlife. We also lost Internet connection due to the thunderstorm.
This is a lovely old house in a remote and beautiful area south of the main Lakes area, but close to Kendal and Bowness at Windermere. The views from the garden are gorgeous, but better still, you feel you are a guest at a much loved family home, all down to the prints. paintings and statues that intrigue.
There's a bit of mould on the shower tile grouting and the kitchen appliances have a mind of their own, but we loved this house.
