Shower Room: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Gas central heating and electricity (£20 per week, £10 per short break, October-March), bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Courtyard with patio and garden furniture. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking.. If you want a place to relax in comfort with gated access from the cottage to lovely walks around lakes, streams and canals, then South Lodge Cottage is the ideal place for you. This contemporary, detached bungalow provides a very comfortable holiday base from which to explore the beautiful Lancashire countryside, whilst being very well placed for visiting Manchester, Liverpool and many other places of interest. There are four public golf courses within 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

Lovely place to stay perfect base to get to places.

Lovely place to stay perfect base to get to places. Hosts helpful & welcoming would recommend highly. Well equipped cottage so have everything you need if you wanted to stay put, easy access from property to walks canals locks. Lots of helpful information supplied to suggest places to go places to eat, very happy to stay here again

Nice comfy cottage, not usually where we would choose to go for a week but it was local to Manchester and family. Really enjoyed it. Lovely walks around the reservoir and haigh woodland park. Lovely nice quiet place to stay in the countryside north of Wigan.

Lovely nice quiet place to stay in the countryside north of Wigan. The tranquil and very pretty Worthington Lakes can be walked via the back gate to the property. Ten minutes drive from the property is Gathurst railway station: free and plenty parking, with good connections to Manchester and Southport. Excellent walking nearby along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Good shops and excellent café in nearby Standish.
