If you love nature and do not need flashy features like Wifi and satellite TV, this is the place to go. A cosy little house, good beds, a phantastic surrounding, deerwatching from your living room window - this place has it all. Really loved it.
As advertised, this is a remote cottage, suitable for a family with two children plus a dog. Comes with a sheep. About half an hour of single track road to get here. There's one shop and a tea room nearby. Great walks and scenery. Cottage is basic and just what you would expect in such a location. It's not the Ritz, nor should it be. Lovely get away.
as soon as we entered everything smelled of wet dog and damp--LIVE ELECTRICS ON SHOW AT THE FRONT DOOR -bathroom NEEDS REFURBISHMENT, toilet wobbles allover the place, BLACK MOULD on most surfaces in bathroom -shower only works if you are 3 foot -carpets ARE GREEN at the edges -in the downstairs bed room the window LOOKS closed BUT IT IS OPEN -downstairs bedroom has a sharp screw sticking out of the bedside light fitting-upstairs bedroom has mould on the ceiling and bits of cardboard to stop drafts-drive way is more like a rough farm track not a driveway-cooker has no numbers left -dish washer had moss living in it -fridge has screws holing the shelf in 10 points for your lawnmowers the sheep-really noisy water pump - un finished ceilings in downstairs utility room-unfinished bulkhead in 'living room'-the cast of bugs life walking across the 'Livingroom' -

A lovely little old cottage in a quiet location with sheep in the garden and hills all around. Great, peaceful place to get away from it all, especially as no wifi or much mobile signal - though within walking distance of Drumbeg village with a well stocked little village shop.
The negatives were that the shower would only be suitable for somebody who was four feet tall, and the token dishwasher is so small that the dinner plates don't even go in it! Those aspects would be fine if it had been clear from the description, and if the cottage had been cheap. However, since it was pretty expensive compared with most of the holiday lets that we have had in Scotland, I think these things are worth pointing out.

Just what we were looking for and far better than the average cottage in NW Scotland.
Just what we were looking for and far better than the average cottage in NW Scotland.
Local amenities consist of endless hill walking and wonderful beaches.
The local store is very good considering the location.

Entrance now such that before long only a 4/4 will get up that drive and difficult negotiating the gate with low sitting car.
Gate left open so sheep poo all over front of garden of the house.Sheep also scale the low fence.
However s really lovely spot and ideal for our requirements .
Everything else with the cottage was fine .i think if I’d had small children with me I’d have been annoyed at the mess the sheep leave in the garden. We always shut the inner gate but sheep usually around when we returned from an outing.
