Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet
First Floor:
Bedroom 1: Super Kingsize (6ft) Bed

Please note: There is a fenced pond and a waterfall in the garden.. Bow Cottage lies in the ancient town of Fordwich, known as the smallest town in Great Britain and is a comfortable terraced holiday cottage which has been renovated to a very good standard, retaining stone clad walls. The front-facing living room boasts a feature bow window and woodburner, and the galley-style kitchen, which has tiled floors, leads into the dining room with patio doors opening on to a patio. This is a great location for walks directly from Fordwich and the outlying area, for exploring, and for sampling the local ales in one of the two local pubs. Explore the historic city of Canterbury with its magnificent cathedral, learn about Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales or take a boat trip on the River Stour. Cycle the Crab and Winkle Way, visit the coast at Herne Bay or spot a seal and sample the oysters at Whitstable, 12 miles. Another enjoyable experience is to go back in time and explore the castles of Dover, Deal and Walmer. Good train connections to London. Shop ¼ mile, pubs/restaurants 100 yards.

Bow Cottage is situated in the delightful town of Fordwich in Kent, one of the Cinque ports and the smallest, English town. It is a most comfortable cottage, bright, well equipped, and ideal for people who want a place both in the country and near to the historic town of Canterbury. There are two dining pubs in the town, one boasting a Michelin Star and the other providing a good quality ‘click & collect’ lunch service. Local facilities include hiring canoes, kayaks and pleasure boats, as well as wild swimming for those sufficiently courageous to do so. Numerous walks criss cross the marshlands surrounding the Stour River and are well signed for those wishing to explore the area on foot. However, only a short drive from Fordwich one can visit the Tate at Margate, the charming Dickensian resort of Broadstairs, the great castles at Deal and Dover, or other of the Cinque ports, such as Sandwich, which hosts the Open Golf Championship every few years. The greatest praise, however, is reserved for our hostess who has welcomed us with warmth and flexibility in these grim, COVID times. As we await our second vaccine dosage, she has made our stay at Bow Cottage an interim ‘home’ where we can relax and recuperate after the winter months of lockdown and say our farewells to a beautiful part of Kent.
