Bunbury Cottage is a fantastic addition to our portfolio of cottages in Keswick, the name was inspired after reading ’The Importance of Being Earnest’ as ’escape to the country’, seemed an appropriate name for the owners who purchased and furnished the property as their own holiday home. The lovely bedroom features a brass bed and traditional furniture. Situated in the oldest and quietest part of Keswick within a short stroll from the town centre and Derwentwater makes this an ideal base to explore all that Keswick and the North Lakes has to offer. This is a perfect ’honeymoon cottage’ be it your 1st or 21st! you will not be disappointed.

We booked Bunbury cottage as accommodation during a week of the Keswick Convention - one of the few cottages available when we booked and at the usual very inflated price that most owners charge at Convention time. The location was brilliant, being so close to local amenities and the Lake. The cottage was comfortable in general but we found; the bed rather too firm (personal preference we know); the wardrobe doors in the bedroom were so hard to open (magnetic closures) that a poorly secured handle came off; no veg. peeler, cling film, aluminium foil or spare loo rolls provided and the freezer needed defrosting. We would have preferred a dishwasher over a clothes washer. The main failing with the property is that, although it is essentially a ground floor flat (as correctly described in the description), we heard every footfall from above. Something really needs to be done about soundproofing between floors. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Fantastic hiking base.

Fantastic hiking base. internet and car park inclusion was essential. living room is cozy and a good place to relax. It is very quiet and has afternoon sun. Benod is decent and bedroom can be kept cold and aired easily, but sheets were washed with too much laundry detergent and gave of perfume scent for the entire week. A dish drying rack would have been a plus, since you have to do your own dishes. The biggest pot for cooking was still too small. but other than that, the kitchen has everything that would be considered standard. We cooked 7 days in a row. Lovely little place to stay for two. Has everything you need and in a quiet location yet minute's from the centre of Keswick and the beautiful Derwent water.
