Perfect site positioned in the quiet country but only 15/20 mins away from town/city. The cottage was ideal, great sized rooms and enough for family visitors too! David and Hazel were very friendly and accomodating, even extended our accomodation due to journey home cancellations! Very happy to book again. Very homely. Many thanks

The Old Barn Farmhouse afforded us a very interesting holiday.
The Old Barn Farmhouse afforded us a very interesting holiday. Although we mostly use holiday cottages as a base for touring, this one had the wow factor of being on a working farm.
David the farmer encouraged us to see all the animals. Two of his cows calfed while we were there and it was delightful to see the calves finding their feet and being fed by their mothers.
This is no slick city dweller's cottage, but it does have a new luxury bathroom. The kitchen has a large kitchen table for the family to enjoy.
Caldwell tower in the next field was featured ten years ago on Restoration Man on TV and it was interesting to watch the programme on YouTube on the large smart TV.
The farm yard behind the cottages is a work in progress, but David's enthusiasm for his farm made it a holiday to remember.

We had a lovely time and had a warm welcome from David and his granddaughter Sophie. My girls loved being able to look around the farm and Chloe also helped to feed some of the animals. Gorgeous memories...would recommend!

Wow!! What an amazing, beautiful cottage that we stayed in, David and his daughter hazel were so welcoming and friendly and made sure that we had everything that we could possibly need for a wonderful, relaxing week away. The cottage was beautiful, warm and cosy and we could’ve stayed there forever!!! The view from the cottage was just stunning. There were sheep, cows and Megan the horse right outside our doorstep. There are beautiful walks in the surrounding area and a local hotel just a few minutes drive away with some fantastic food on offer. Cannot wait to return again next year!!!!

We had a wonderful 5 days away and was welcomed by David the owner and made to feel very welcome . David and his daughter were so kind bringing out some outdoor toys for our daughter to play with outside in the court yard. David let us know about an enclosed field just up the lane to where we could let the dogs off safely where there is no live stock.
The cottage was super warm, big and cosy perfect for a relaxing get away. You do need a car to get around.
We went to a great pub just up the road and shops local .
We visited Motherwell , Edinburgh and Loch Lomond . We will be visiting again overall a fab break away .
