This fascinating detached house, converted from a barn with great flair and imagination by its architect owner, is idyllically and peacefully set in a landscaped ‘wild’ garden with sitting-out areas, Arne Barn, which has been within the family for many years, offers a very unusual and welcoming retreat. There is an interesting mix of artefacts, ornaments and personal touches using a ‘nature’s theme’, as well as a vast array of books and traditional family games.

We enjoyed our stay at Arne Barn and were delighted with the proximityto the RSPB Arne site just a few hundred meters walk away. The property is well furnished and comfortable but there were a few 'oddities': (a) the bathrooms don't have towel rails, just a piece of branch fixed to the walls with only enough hanging for one towel, (b) the microwave was set at eye level which we considered was very dangerous when taking out hot food or drinks, (c) with the exception of the kitchen table outside the kitchen, the work serfaces, bathroom sinks and dining table were all higher than is normal (d) the family bathroom didn't have a shower attachment to the bath, so no shower option in this bathroom. Having said all that, these are fairly minor matters and we all enjoyed the property and the surrounding countryside. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The kitchen could do with a proper clean .
The kitchen could do with a proper clean . We found food at the bottom of one of the drawers. the sheets on one of the bunk beds were clean but stained. The microwave should be at eye level for safety reasons. Despite these criticisms it was a great place to stay. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Lovely cottage in a remote setting in the Arne peninsula.
Lovely cottage in a remote setting in the Arne peninsula. Well-equipped, interesting building, with useful garden space. We particularly enjoyed the bird feeders. Beautiful walks from the cottage in the RSPB reserve. Within easy reach of beaches, restaurants and hiking country. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
