Decorated in classic cottage style. The living room has a knotty pine vaulted ceiling with ceiling fan/light and loft area suitable for children with sleeping bags you provide. Flat screen TV/ DVD & Roku with free internet. A convertible queen sofa in the living room. Two bedrooms have comfortable queen beds, one has a set of comfortable bunk beds. Pack and play provided. All bedding provided. Bright and cheery kitchen includes all dishes, pots and pans, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, microwave and dishwasher. Kitchen dining seating for 6. Full bathroom has combination shower/ tub, and hair dryer and all towels provided. Washer and dryer is provided for your convenience. A 14 x 10 deck off the Kitchen overlooks the back yard and 24x30 fenced courtyard and fire pit, Hosta beds and hammock for relaxing in the afternoon. A fire in the evening and so-mores are a sure hit for all ages. Firewood is provided. New Central AC and new natural gas forced air furnace. Newly painted inside and out.
Enjoy New Buffalo Public Lake Michigan Beach which is a short 3 miles away. New Buffalo Public Beach, Michigan City Public Beach, Mount Baldy, Silver Beach & Warren Dunes State Park are all open to the public with inexpensive parking fees.

New Buffalo has a slower relaxed pace in late fall and winter We rent throughout the year. Fall and winter can be a very beautiful and relaxing time to take a break. The fall colors can be amazing. Many restaurants offer discounts. Winters can be a absolute gorgeous, serene winter wonderland. This is really the best time to kick back, relax and take some much-needed time for yourself!

Kids loved the cat!

My husband and I came with two of our grandchildren, ages 3 and 4 to play at the beach. We were hoping to hang out at New Buffalo Beach, but it was very small with limited parking. We went to Warren Dunes State Park instead-a bit further to drive, but more spacious beach. Unfortunately due to weather, we only had part of 2 days at the beach. Our hosts had made suggestions of other activities to do with the kids, which we really appreciated (and needed)! The kids loved the Heston Steam train and the smaller gauge train in Indiana, Oink’s and the Galien River Trail and Lookout! Our cottage was very clean and comfortable-Jan’s flowers around all the properties and gorgeous! Den’s concrete work is cute and creative. The business next door has a huge grey tabby cat that came to visit one morning and made himself right at home on laps! The kids thought he was cute! I appreciated Jan making suggestions for groceries-very helpful and not too far of a drive. Just a suggestion: a pair of kitchen shears and sharp knife in the kitchen and a new dustpan. Beds were comfortable; we enjoyed the deck, fire pit area and the hammock! Truly appreciated Jan and Den’s property and will return.

Cute place!

We had two families of four staying at Sleeping Willows, and although it was a little tight, it was an excellent stay. The loft area was perfect for the kids to play in (aged 4-8) and there was some space in the backyard to play. The kids loved watching for the train every time it came by. It's both convenient and dangerous to be right off the main highway, but the kids were old enough to know not to wander near the road. The garden was beautiful, well-kept, and almost magical! The fire pit and deck were great places to gather. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend it to anyone with kids. Thanks to Jan, our host, who made the process really easy and was always within reach!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

Jan was a great host! The house was clean and inviting. We loved the backyard and patio space with the grill and firepit. The location is a short drive from Chicago and a few minutes down the road to downtown New Buffalo. We had everything we needed during our stay and Jan was very helpful in giving recommendations. Highly recommend for groups looking for a weekend getaway!

We both have great memories of growing up in the area. We have been together 51 years! We are true soul mates.! Dancing Feet Yoga is 1 mile. We are 2 miles from Whittaker Woods Golf course. Grand Beach Golf course is about 1 mile. Four Winds Casino is about 5 miles. Blue Chip Casino is about 7 miles, Light house Mall outlet shopping is about 8. International Friendship Gardens is about 7. The Dunes Art theater is about 2 miles. This seasonal theater stages plays, musicals & other shows, plus hosts acting classes for kids & adults. This rustic theater set in a woodsy area, is very popular, and a big change from big city theater, for sure! Hesston Steam Show with antique steam engines and train rides is a big hit with the Kids. New Buffalo Twp. Has a great free water park for young children. The Galien River Walk is also free. Journeyman Distillery is in Three Oaks and next door to the Acorn Theater for a easy great night out. Winery tours, Distilleries, antique stores, farmer markets, U pick farms, romantic picnics. We are 30 miles from South Bend. 60 miles from Chicago.
